Such a great place to practice. Staff and other patrons are helpful and kind. They use all Grigri devices, no manual tying in, except if you're lead climbing. Just a heads up, there are some auto-belays if you like to indoor climb alone, that is an option. I'm not into bouldering so much, but it looks like a solid crew here. They respectfully wait for each person's turn to go.

This is my first climbing gym (and I'm just learning to climb) so I don't have much comparison, but I've been happy. There's lots of routes of varying difficulty, lots of climbers of different skill levels, and the intro clinic I signed up for has gotten me on the ropes and up the walls--so overall I'm very happy.

Super friendly for kids. They accommodated me and some unique needs I had and we're very friendly to us and got us climbing right away. It's really the staff that make a place great... Otherwise it's just another cool warehouse with ropes and mats. Highly recommended

Nick and the rest of the front desk staff really took some time today to orient some newbies. They all were incredibly patient and professional and answered all questions in a manner that made us all feel comfortable. The atmosphere was relaxed without an attitude and the official greeting mascot was a pro as well!

My daughter goes to the mini monkeys climbing club and it has been an amazing experience for her. I can't say enough great things about the energetic, kind and caring staff at Petra Cliffs. These young instructors have a wonderful way with kids and truly want them to succeed and want to instill a love of climbing. Love this place!

This is a good place to go rock climbing, bouldering, and traversing as a beginner, which I am. I can't speak for more advanced climbers, but I went for an afternoon to have fun, and I did. It's a small operation, so it took a short while for them to check us in, because all their employees were teaching a class or helping someone. But, once we got going, it was a great experience. They are very kind, patient, and friendly. The facilities are nice. More bouldering than actual climbing, but they have more than a dozen climbing setups, and probably 60 or 70 courses, a good variety of difficulties. I enjoyed going here.

First time climber review. Friendly and knowledgeable staff tought our group how to belay safely and how to choose climbs based on the rating system. There were certainly a variety of climbs that were both attainable for a beginner like myself & aspirational climbs. With any new sport, if a person decides to go back to try a second time depends greatly on environment & experience. That said, I will definitely try rock climbing again!

They have a great variety of climbing and bouldering walls with frequent route changes. However, there seems to be a lot of children's activities where children run rampant and management doesn't seem to care. I've had kids start climbing walls I was tying onto, had to stop climbing to help unsupervised children that climbed too high on a wall and couldn't get down. Last time I went, there was a birthday party where the kids were running laps around the gym disrupting climbers. One even ran into me and nearly knocked me off the wall! If they just enforced their age and children supervisory policies, Petra would be great. But membership is too expensive to worry about if you're going to have to babysit someone's kid while climbing.

I've climbed before, too long ago, but my first time at Petra was a smooth and easy return to the sport. Went bouldering for an hour and now my forearms are more solid than the rock we climbed (sarcasm). Would definitely recommend to beginning climbers. I can't comment for more experienced climbers but there was definitely a variety of routes.

Twice my children attending field trips or birthdays and the staff has show no regards to injuries. I understand that injuries happen and I do not think the injuries were caused by any negligence but how do you NOT check on a kid that has done a full face plant in front of two staff members or fallen off the rock wall?

Simply the best. Exciting climbing gym with a classic vibe. No one is pretentious or standoffish; everyone, from staff to patrons, treats the gym as a community space. Great deals on memberships, lessons, and clinics, all supported by a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable climbers. I feel completely at home striking up a conversation with folks climbing things six grades above me because they all act very humble and respect everyone else's climbing progress; there's a lot of cheering on strangers.
I really can't say enough about this place, been coming almost every other day for the last three months and couldn't be happier with the connections and progress that I've made. So highly recommend Petra as the gym to try for both the novice and veteran climbers.

The owners, manager and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. I love climbing there, going to the LGBTQ2 events and taking guided trad training with Andrea and Steve. The trad lead training was such a memorable and amazing learning experience as they are both very experienced and professional AMGA guides. Looking forward to working with them again next year, and climbing in their new gym. Highly recommended.

Our daughter has been a member of the climbing team for the past two years. Its a great community that teaches kids to challenge themselves, technical skills, and to have fun. We've also had a birthday party which was fantastic. We can't wait to get back to the wall again. Thanks Petra Cliffs team for all that you do and the great environment you provide!

Petra Cliffs is kinda hidden in the area as many locals don't know its there. It's surprisingly busy though. The indoor climbing area seams small but has a good amount of climbing areas. The staff was friendly and helpful to new climbers. I did find that the actual climbing areas go from relatively easy to much more difficult rather quickly. After you've done the first 4-5 easy climbs, the next one is a big jump. 25$ for the initiation is ok but not cheap for a couple climbing for the first time.

I hired Andrea as a private guide for some outdoor rock climbing in Vermont. She was professional, careful, kind, patient, and an overall fun person with whom to spend a day climbing. She also taught me some new things about trad climbing. I would definitely recommend using Petra Cliffs to anyone who is interested in private instruction in Vermont.

This climbing center is really great! Nice atmosphere & helpful staff. Not sure how it was pre-COVID, but on a saturday afternoon it was not crowded at all which was ideal. I enjoyed the "bouldering cave" & unique puzzles throughout the center. The bouldering walls are realistic & more advanced in difficulty, but I think the belay climbing option would be perfect for beginners! The free tomatoes were a great treat at the end of my climb.

I really enjoy this gym. Grew up going to camps here and have recently come back for a few climbing days. Really friendly staff and there's plenty of climbing space so you never feel crowded. The facility is both clean and well maintained and the rates for day passes are quite reasonable. It's a unique climbing space and well worth a visit.

It was our first time here on 12/19 with my wife and 9-year-old son. The gentleman taking care of us was really short, not welcoming, and not engaging with us at all. He was rude and seemed really bothered by us. We didn't get his name but he has long curly hair and wears it in a ponytail. We manage painfully to get through selecting and paying for what we wanted $80 to climb for the day. We were lucky to have a nice woman give us our orientation and she apologized for the gentleman's behavior. She was extremely nice and answered all of our questions and we greatly appreciated it. Especially after having the experience with him. We tried our best to enjoy our time but we still left with a BAD taste in our mouths. To put it simply we will not come back to this place because of the POOR customer service we experienced. I will gladly take my business to Metro Rock any day! First timers here don't waste your time here!

Had my first experience at Petra Cliffs last week. I decided to jump in and get a beginner's lesson to learn some basics and see if climbing is something I would take to. I loved it! Wish I started sooner. Lauren was a great instructor, and coached me through all of the routes. I even got to try bouldering. It was a blast and I will definitely be back.

Went here for a my niece's birthday party. She's six. Kids seemed to have fun. Staff was friendly, and accommodating, if on the young side. Overall, it was cool. Would recommend. As the kids were leaving, adults were filing in and getting ready to work out/climb. So not a kids place really. Just a rock climbing place that hosted a party.

Took a climbing class here and now have a membership, great place to go climb and lots of bouldering problems. I also feel like they grade difficulties well, where other places ive been in the U.S. have graded problems with higher difficulty than what they are.
