Recently moved to Richmond and was due for a service. They could do it right away if I wanted, but we settled on tomorrow . Gave me a loaner car so I didn t have to wait the couple of hours it would take! Service Manager Judy Lindgren could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Plus they didn t charge me for a couple of filters on the 30k checklist that they said were fine and didn t need replacing .

The staff at Pearson Mazda are absolutely amazing. They are professional, helpful, comment and efficient. After visiting another dealership, I was so thankful and pleased with the service that I received at Pearson Mazda! In a matter of minutes, my needs were met and I m driving a fine vehicle! Thank you Pearson Mazda!

Last month I bought my 4th car from the Pearson's (and my second one from Pearson Mazda) and as I've come to expect I was greeted with great service from the moment I walked in the door. I had called the night before and told them I want to take a look at a 2008 Subaru Outback I had seen on their website. When I got there the car was already out front and ready for me to test drive. While test driving the car the salesman explained to me a lot of different features about this particular car. I've been New and Used car shopping before, and when buying a new car I've gotten this kind of explanation about a vehicle but rarely with a Used car, especially one that wasn't what the dealership normally sold as new so the fact that the salesman took the time to learn about this particular vehicle made the experience better. I ended up purchasing the car and since I had brought my own financing I was in and out in under two hours, which for anyone who's car shopped before knows that is speedy. As usual Pearson Mazda made me feel like family and I know that when I'm in the market for another vehicle they'll be tops on my list.

It s always a pleasure to have my car serviced at Pearson s (even when it s two thousand dollars on a 17 year old Miata)

Judy Lindgren, your service manager, always treats me fairly, quickly and with solid, detailed information to make my investment in its upkeep an easy decision. I also know I m safe on the road because of it.

Was told that my brake caliper holders neeeded to be replaced due to uneven wear on the break pads they wanted 672$ for everything to be done mind you it s a 5 year old car, long story short I did the brake job myself they never even touched the bolts to the brake pads. I will go back for regular oil changes but untrustworthy for more serious problems which they lie about

I was in the market for a Prius. Pearson Mazda had one (2005). I responded to the online ad and Robert King made contact with me promptly. Great test drive. I was hesitant to get it at first, because I needed the payment to fit my budget. In steps Mike Ezell (finance manager). Exceeded my expectations!! Thank you two!! I'll be telling others to come by . Great job.

My husband and I have been dealing with Maxda for a couple years. They, Jud Dauray, has impressed us 100%. Without too much details on our meeting, he has proven to be the only man my husband wants to be dealing with when it comes to my cx5. Thank you for always being there for us!

After a less than ideal experience at a competitor Mazda dealership accross town the service at Pearson Mazda was fantastic. Mel knows the products inside and out and was more than willing to take the time to test drive multiple cars and go through the details and compare the differences. The sales process was straightforward and easy, and they gave me more for my trade than CarMax offered. I would send anyone in the market for a new car to this dealership.

My wife and I bought a new 2017 Mazda from Pearson Mazda and we were really happy with our experience there. Paul Thrasher (sales) and Mike Ezell (finance) and Mike Smith (manager) are all super nice guys that are honest, humble, hard-working, and just genuinely decent people. They went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. This is the best Mazda dealership we've ever been to and we highly recommend them. Thank you so much for a great experience and we really appreciate you guys!

For years my wife has been hunting for that "special car". We found
that car at Pearson Mazda via their web site. The convertible top had
a few issues and the window on the passenger side needed to be
adjusted. After we agreed on the price our salesman, Brandon Cain,
said that they would take care of those issues. To our surprise they
put a new top on the car and replaced parts that were found to be
defective so that the top would operate correctly. They also replaced a part in the door that operated the window. The service department answered any and all questions we had during this process. All of this took a few weeks and they were in constant touch with my wife and I. Mike Smith felt so badly about it taking so
long he called my wife and apologized. To top all of this off Brandon
Cain delivered the car after it was finished. Oh by the way, I forgot
to mention we live in Suffolk Va which is about 1 1/2 hours from
Richmond, Va. Not many car dealers would do that. I highly recommend Pearson Mazda to anyone.

At first I went to the other Mazda dealership and was given a bunch of reasons why they couldn't order / find me a new Miata in a specific color/style/trim package. Worked with George at Pearson Mazda and within 3 days he and Freddy found the exact model/color I wanted. Very nice experience and highly recommended!

I was told I would get free oil changes for life. I asked several questions about the free oil changes for life and was satisfied with the answers. I bought the car and a few days later I emailed the sales rep and he said that he never said free for life. "Free oil change and free inspections for life" Very misleading. And I can only blame myself for being mislead.

Very pleasant staff to deal with. No pressure. Ended up buying a Used vehicle there. Great communication through the whole process. Had a minor issue the first day with the vehicle that the service dept took care of for me right away no questions asked. Will do business with them again. I really enjoyed my experience at Pearson Mazda in Richmond. The salesperson was cordial, knowledgeable and listened well to meet my needs. My salesperson (Scott) did a great job of finding the right vehicle to meet my needs. I got a better deal than I expected and the process exceeded my expectations. I drove 50 miles past the Mazda dealer in my town to Pearson Mazda and it was more than worth the drive!

My visit on October 4th is always pleasant with Mark and the Mazda team who had fixed my recall and changed my oil. They were fast and prompt in getting me in and back to work in no time. I love the online scheduling to make it easy to make an appointment. Thank you Pearson Mazda!!!

PS...Did I tell you I LOVE my 2018 MAZDA CX5? What an awesome SUV!

This was my first "big girl" car buying experience, and in the end, I was really pleased! I personally worked with Kyle to find the right car for me. I landed on a white 2019 CX-5! Kyle was never pushy and did everything he could to properly explain the leasing process, as well as the different car options/features.

I was definitely nervous and skeptical going in to Pearson because I haven't had super positive experiences in other locations looking for a new vehicle. However, the entire staff was friendly, patient, and very responsive. I will definitely recommend Kyle and his colleagues to friends and family in the future.

I had terrible experiences at other car dealerships except Pearson Mazda. Paul Thrasher helped us from finding the car and until final delivery, he made it possible to have a seamless experience buying the car, very professional and informative. This is the best car buying experience I have had so far.. I would definitely recommend Pearson Mazda and I would visit Pearson Mazda when I'm in market for new car.

On Wednesday in December 11th, I purchased a Mazda 6 2017 Touring from Pearson Mazda on West broad in Richmond. I worked with Joe Jackson who worked diligently on the price I was able to pay for a vehicle. Coincidentally, I worked with Mr. Jackson in 2012 when he worked at Sheehy Nissan on West broad. Both experiences were great and I definitely recommend him if you are interested in purchasing a Mazda. (So even though this review has 2 stars - Joe gets 5 stars!)

However, there is a downside to my experience with Pearson Mazda. On Saturday 12/14, my husband and I drove from Williamsburg to Richmond to drop off my newly purchased vehicle at Pearson Madza for remote start installation and was given a 2018 Mazda Grand Touring VIN - JM1GL1TY6J1324918, as a loaner. On Sunday 12/15 night, I had issues with the safety brake system (SBS) which caused the car to abruptly stop and sputter in the middle of the road(very scary during Christmas traffic)! I was advised to clean the emblem in front of the car just in case there was dirt on the sensor -after that the car was fine.

On Monday 12/15, the loaner started to stall once again after driving for 30 minutes. The dash had several malfunction messages along with a check engine light. Once I explained the car was inoperable, the dealership towed the car from Newport News back to Richmond. I was then informed my car will be ready for pickup on Tuesday 12/16, so my husband and I did not drive all the way to Richmond to pick up a new loaner. I made arrangements for work on Tuesday but when I called later that evening, I was told my car will not be ready until Wednesday 12/17 morning. I told them this was not going to work as I need to go to work Wednesday morning.
I called Pearson Mazda and spoke to a manager, Freddy. Freddy made my car available for pickup Tuesday night. I appreciated the efforts, however I explained my frustration and safety concern to Freddy about the car stopping and sputtering in the middle of the road twice. Since I was given a bad loaner and was out of a car for a day, I decided to ask if anything could be done about the inconvenience ( 2 free oil changes or something...anything!).
His response was, "I don't have the authorization to offer you anything. Also, we are dealing with machines here. We wouldn't purposely put a customer in a faulty vehicle..But, you never know, things happen." There was a moment of silence -so I just said, ok , thank you.

This is all true... however a customer who JUST bought a car from a company does not want to hear something that basically sounds like,"Sucks that happened to you, but hey, sh*t happens! As I stated, after expressing my concern and how I felt unsafe, something could have been done to soften the blow of my experience.

This dealership was incredibly helpful and and friendly. The salesman Jay Santiago was very knowledgeable, while I didn't end up buying a car from him, I'll definitely be going back to him for my next one. He was very accommodating but unfortunately my fiance chose a different vehicle.

Everyone was very helpful, and always made me feel welcome over the few days of handling things at Mazda. They didn't pressure me in to anything I didn't want to do, and allowed me plenty of time to make my big decision. Brandon was great! Especially being that he was so new to the floor. He gave me lots of valuable info, and made it clear if I needed anything just to give him a ring. I totally recommend them 100%.
Thanks again Brandon & everyone at Pearson Mazda!

Mike Smith and Kenneth were very professional in helping me pick out a car that works for my family. There was no pushing me to what they wanted to sell, instead they showed me the differences in the models. They knew their product well, which helped me pick out the perfect car for my wife. They made the potential nightmare car buying experience a pleasant experience. I was treated fair on my trade and on the new car price. I know as business you have to make money and they can't give the car away but they gave us a fair price with out the long drawn out process of haggling. Thank You So Much for making my families car buying process enjoyable!

As a Minority, I had a horrible customer service experience here! I went in asking for a simple quote for a part to my vehicle, And they were mean and would not assist me. I am not sure what was going on, but they were nice to the other customers who were not minorities. I was offended and I will not do business, with any business that treats me like a second-class citizen.

I had a great experience buying my 2013 Mazda CX-5. It was my first time buying a new car for myself and I was clearly stressed out about the whole process. Chase was my salesperson and he was great. I know I got an excellent price and there was no pressure to buy. I would recommend Pearson Mazda to anyone who is in the market.

I am editing my review of Mazda and Judd and his team that he has working in the shop. Judd would be amazing if he would clean up his shop and evaluate the guys he has working for him. He s a very nice man but I m sure he gets sick of dealing with their mess ups. My sunroof has been leaking since I purchased the vehicle and it has been almost 3 years and they still can t fix it!! Then they ignore s me for 4 months after fixing it again and it still leaking when it rains! It has been fixed 4 times within smal time frames of each other. It was broken when I bought it with a Warenty and is still broken! I have 4 small children and I can t imagine the MOLD that is in my car since it was leaking when I bought it! Yes jud did help but the job was not completed and my car still leaked! It s not safe and I m highly disappointed with Mazda. I have allied and called and no one returns my phone calls. They just put it on the back burner and I was told I would have to PAY to have it fixed now!!!! My sunroof was leaking 2 days after I bought it! This is their problem that they won t fix! I I purchased my Mazda CX-9 from Pearson 2 years ago. I have had some trouble with the car and Judd the service manager has gone ABOVE and beyond with helping fix and or correct any mistakes. He truly is a great man and I can't speak highly enough of the kindness he has shown me and my family. I can't imagine taking my car to anyone else. Judy has also been very helpful and is as sweet as can be. They made potentially very stressful situations extremely better! Thank you for everything!

It took a while for me to decide which vehicle I wanted... actually a couple of months. Kyle Guzman was helpful with all my questions and patient as I mulled over my options. At no point was he ever pushy . He was there when I needed him. The whole staff was friendly and easy to work with throughout the process. I am very happy with my CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve. I would recommend Pence Mazda to anyone shopping for a car.

Original review: I have had my car in for service on two recent occasions and both were pretty darn smooth.

First visit was due to my electric/hydraulic power steering cutting out on my 2007 3. I told them when it would happen and they diagnosed and replaced a failing battery and that everything else was healthy in under 3 hours.

The next visit was for a bit of rehab for my driveline, mainly: new axles, clutch, flywheel, and installation of a used low-mileage transmission (I have a manual with 160k on it and a neglectful previous owner). All work was completed in 3 days and was 99% correct. One small oversight in my list of work but otherwise perfect.

One of my parts failed and required a re-visit and replacement of both passenger size axles (again, only because of a supplier snafu about whether the parts were OEM or aftermarket). The repair took a tad longer than expected due to parts backorder. Discovered my car was returned to me with bent and dragging brake disc shield (quick fix) and a newly cut ball joint boot (not quick fix). Pearson is remedying the situation on their dime at a dealer local to me, but not providing any sort of replacement vehicle/loaner in the meantime, at great inconvenience to my wife, whos car we now have to share). It's now been two weeks and I do not have my car back. I understand that stuff happens, but when two things like this are missed, one audible and one visible clearly from outside the car, my confidence is wavering.

I came in towards the end of the month to purchase a vehicle. The salesman greeted me quickly and then left as he was helping another customer at the time. They were a little busy which I understood, but What I was not prepared for was the complete lack of customer service. When I asked for pricing on a vehicle he told me to look it up on my phone!!! Every time I asked a question the response back was rushed and he literally would start walking away if I asked a second question. He bragged about already having 26 sales so I assume his quota had been met so he could care less about selling me a car that day. I brought my parents in to look at the vehicle and he even cut them off when they were asking questions. He did not even bother to review the features of the car with me or offer to review them later he just handed me the keys for the test drive and walked away. I did not test drive the car and gave him the keys right back! I have never seen a car salesman who didn t want to sell a car. Your salesmen are the faces of the dealership. Please make sure their customer service skills are up to par!! I was excited to purchase my first Mazda but I will not be returning

Got a state inspection here several times. The most recent one they copy pasted my old inspection document and didn't update the license plate. I'm now in legal trouble because of their error. Mistakes happen, but when I tried to get it fixed they didn't even apologize, even though I'm losing hundreds of dollars because of their mistake. I will probably take my car somewhere else even though it's free to go here.

Excellent service from being greeted at the door to the return of my vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised by the proactive approach of the team to ask questions to ensure all issues were addressed. I was even invited into the service bay to visually see the problem as it was beneficial in addition to the verbal description. I know this step is highly unusual in this day and age; but, I feel it is still a vital and critical tool to ensure the best service experience at times. Kudos to the Pearson team! I would highly recommend their service department and will go there again.

My wife and I recently purchased a used Mazda from Pearson. We worked with John Breeder, who is an excellent salesperson. He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and provided us with a great experience despite the hiccups that occurred during the process. He went the extra mile. And Troy Hernandez, the gentleman in finance, was great as well. He made going through the financing quick and painless. He made sure to explain all the fine print and was very open about the entire process. I would recommend working with Pearson Mazda if you are in the market for new or used cars.

I got recall work done and the service was great, they checked in with me when needed and didn't offer overcharge me on the belt that I needed. (After 11 years/113k I'd say that's fair.) I bought my CX7 in 2011 from these guys and have only had good experiences with them since. Plus, nothing has ever gone wrong with my car! Mazdas are awesome. I recommend checking these guys out if you are ever in the market.
