I love this bookstore! I stumbled upon it the last time I was in Montreal and it was my first destination when I arrived this time. They have a vast collection of books and lots of beautiful special editions that you don't find in other stores.

The place is laid out very nicely and it is easy to find what you are looking for. They are a book nerd's dream and have lots of fun bibliophile goodies like badges, t-shirts, socks and mugs. I highly recommend a visit. The gentleman working when I was in was a bit rude but that was the only negative.

This bookstore which I though I would love is the most unfriendly experience I ve had at any bookstore new or used ever. I ve been an advisor reader since I was very small. The staff are cold and rude at this bookstore and have no idea about proper social behaviour or being friendly towards their customers.

Lovely bookstore close to McGill. It feels more like an independently owned bookstore so you feel like you're supporting an independent business instead of a large corporation. This place is so good that I was recommended it by Munro's Books in Victoria BC.

They focus more on coursebooks for business, econ, and literature, but still have a great selection for recreational readers.

Fantastic place,it's super cosie and has a huge number of books although I do find some workers there as not to polite but that's just a baby gripe and there people there who are extremely helpeful so I do think it evens out the problem. So yeah 5/5 awesome place

This has been one of my favorite bookstores for a long time - I've spent countless hours here browsing for novels and course textbooks. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. However, my last experience disappointed me a little and I hope this review can help the Paragraphe team improve their customer service. A couple of hours prior to coming to Paragraphe, I wanted to assure that the textbook I was looking for was available in store. I called the store and they assured me that not only did they have a copy of the book I was looking for, but that they would reserve it for me...only to show up to the store a couple of hours later, and the book that was reserved for me was not at all what I was looking for (I was looking for Quebec's Code of Civil Procedure and the store had instead reserved a copy of the Civil Code of Quebec). While I understand that this mixup could've happened to anyone, what particularly upset me was the fact that the person who attended to me had not even apologized for his mistake. I was courteous, I made sure to call the store a couple of hours earlier to prevent unnecessary ambulation in the store to respect public health guidelines and I told him I had come from an hour away, as no other bookstore had this book. To try and brush off his mistake, the person offered to look for the actual book in the store's inventory (the store didn't have any online - I figured that by going in person, they had some physical copies). But he never actually apologized for his error. I hope that this wonderful Montreal institution continues to value the importance of customer service in the long run!

It s a good bookstore. If you're a McGill student you can easily find what courses they have books for on their website, and last I ordered you could choose either in-store pick-up or delivery within Montreal. They're also responsive on fb; I've received good help there as well as on the phone.
