Honestly a great group to work with. The person who helped me (Tiffany) wasnt just looking to fill a position. They ask what YOU want and what youre looking for as in pay and job type. They look for something that is going to strike your interests and that youll enjoy. When they find something for you they also are direct with what you can expect from the work environment and will help you prepare for the interview so youre at your best. Finally they stick with you beyond that and check in periodically to see how youre adjusting to the job to make sure its a good fit. They really helped me out with this transition!

I started working with Palmer Group completely by accident. I applied for a job after being recently released from my employment of 27 years not realizing who they were. They were very helpful and getting me quickly up to date with the job search options and helping me look for employment. I started a position with a company as a contract and was hired within 2 1/2 months. I owe this all to Willow Bauer and Ryan Schweizburger for landing me with great employment opportunity. If you are looking for employment go to see them. They really are there and care for their clients.

I had great luck with working with Palmer. I put my feelers out with several agencies in the DSM area but did not receive the same level of responsiveness as I did with Palmer. Because they are a local company, they seemed to have better relationships with potential employers, which when you are in the market for a new job, is key. I would recommend Palmer in the job search process.

Beware. Like many of the scam agencies, they get you in the door and smile in your face, then pass out opportunities to whomever they feel begged enough to warrant a follow up.

Palmer Group is by far the best recruiting company in Des Moines, and in fact one of the best service companies I have ever used. Erin and Megan were organized, supportive, and always one step ahead to lead me through the process to a new job.

I worked with both Matt J. and Chris L. while I was contracted through Palmer Group to John Deere as a Quality Engineer and they kept working for me after my contract ended at Deere (low business equaled layoffs). They were both very helpful and never quit looking for positions that fit me. I have to admit I was picky when it came to location, salary and the job itself, but they never gave up and never got frustrated with me turning down opportunities. They brought me a couple very solid opportunities recently and I'll have a hard time deciding which one to accept (pending formal offers).

When it came time for interviews, I was given insight into how to tailor my answers to be as effective as possible and I had an advantage over other candidates because I knew which strengths to promote the most. And when available, I was met at the location for the interview to make sure that I got in contact with the correct people, making for a seamless introduction.

Palmer group is a Great recruiting company to work for as a temporary position. Recruiters are great, they tend to your needs in the areas of pay, location and companies you wish to work for. They placed me at Guide One in Desmoines, IA. I had no issues with this company. Abby Wiese is my recruiter. She is very responsive. Whenever, I raise a question/issue, it is immediately addressed. And also friendly and truly care about their contractors.

Staff does not care about you. There are much better staffing agencies in the Des Moines metro that I would recommend ahead of this group. I had the misfortune of working with Cheryl who did not listen to my career interests and offered me a job that did not work out. Now they refuse to work with me.

I worked for this company for a little over a month. Every week I'd have to call them because my paycheck would be short on hours. I finally quit when they told me I'd have to work overtime hours at the client but not get paid overtime, even though I was working in a non-exempt position (eligible for overtime). Stay away from these scamsters.

Very professional temp agency. Lots of great advice for snagging the right job. Places with Wells Fargo and Athene.

This firm claims they'll place you in a permanent position, but in reality the "permanent" position is a 3 to 6 month assignment at Wells Fargo or Wellmark. After the assignment is over, you're cut loose and they'll never talk to you again. This is a temp agency in disguise, and a bad one at that.

I started working with The Palmer Group about a month after I graduated in May of 2017 completely by accident. I was using Zip-recruiter & applied for an accounting position in the Des Moines area posted by The Palmer Group. I soon received a phone call from Cheryl Finch to set up a time to discuss my background & what sort of position/company I was looking to work for. After I explained my interests & what I was looking for, she would send me information on potential job opportunities I might be interested in, & within about a months time I was interviewing with John Deere Financial & a few days after that I was hired on as a contingent & living in he area I was most interested in! Cheryl did an excellent job keeping in contact with me to see how my own job search was good as well as checking to see if I had heard back from any of the companies she had sent my resume to. I would highly recommend utilizing all that The Palmer Group has to offer, & if you're lucky, you'll get someone as great as Cheryl who will start you off exactly where you want to be!

I have been working with Palmer group since last 6 years and only have positive things to say about them. The staff is very personable and professional. Their professional network is very strong. The account managers are easily accessible at any time and very responsive to any of my questions. Many times I need documents from them for personal reasons and they make sure I have what I need quickly and exactly how I need it. I like their annual parties and group events in Des Moines area. They regularly follow up with me regarding the work to make sure everything is going smoothly and if I have any issues or concerns. If you are in the market and looking to find good company to work with, I would certainly recommend working with Palmer group.

I was approached by Sophia Godfrey who actually turned out to be a friend of a friend and was very prompt at setting up a visit with me to discuss my skills and what I was looking for in a job. She told me about a couple of openings and then told me about a few openings in administrative work that were being recruited for by Chelsea. I decided to proceed with a job available through Chelsea. She was very nice and always did a great job of following up with me. For one of my interviews, I had to prepare a presentation and both Chelsea and Melanie offered to let me come in for a run through so that they could give me tips and a change of environment to practice in. They definitely went above and beyond when it came to answering my questions and helping with scheduling. They also were quick to let me know when I landed the job that has ended up being a wonderful fit for me!

I applied for a job on their website. I was called the next day for an interview and went in the following Monday. I met with two women who were very nice and asked the regular interview questions to understand my needs and abilities. Then I was told they didn't have anything open (odd considering I came in to interview for a specific position) but said they knew of a different department that might have something and asked if I'd be willing to interview with the recruiter for that department. I said sure. I met a man named Brian who asked a lot of the same questions but didn't really listen to the answers. He also said he didn't have anything open but that he probably would have more jobs at the end of the week. He then had me take the standardized tests and said he'd call me the next day to discuss my results. He called the next day and said he hadn't gotten any jobs in but hopefully the next week, then said he'd call the next day and talk about my test results. He called the next day, said my results were good and then asked for the name of my supervisor at Wells Fargo (I had worked there through a different temp agency),information that I'd already given him and the original women who interviewed me. He had a position open at Wells Fargo and wanted to see if it would be a problem. I'd had an issue with that supervisor and I knew he wouldn't give me a very good reference, information that I told him. Thing is, that position was from 2 years ago and I had 2 other positions since then, one that I was at for a year and a half and that had kept me on for a year longer than originally planned, he wasn't interested in that one though. So he calls back and says that the manager didn't give me a bad reference but that it wasn't a good reference either (which didn't surprise me). This position was with the same supervisor so he said, because of that he couldn't place me there. That was fine with me as I had no desire to work with that supervisor again anyway. He called the next day and said he had another position in a different department at Wells Fargo but that he would need me to give him my supervisor's information from my last job, a position I was only at for a month and a half because work slowed down, again not interested in the previous position where I'd been for almost 2 years. He also said that he couldn't place me until I had called the rehire number and why hadn't I called it yet, this was my first time even hearing about it. When I tried to call it I couldn't get anything because it asked for an employee number, a number I didn't have because I wasn't an employee. I told him this and was told to try again, and of course it still didn't work. I get a call back the following day stating that this manager had also give me a bad reference (which was news to me because she had told the temp agency that placed me that I was a wonderful employee). He said that she told him that my production was low, considering I was only there for a month and a half and I was the only temp, I'm not even sure who my production was being compared to, and that I had attendance issues. I told him I didn't understand any of that because she'd told my other temp agency the exact opposite and she'd told me the opposite as well and that it didn't make sense. He basically just talked over me, didn't listen to anything I was telling him, and kept rushing to get off the phone. He then said that because of the 2 bad references he wouldn't be able to work with me anymore and hung up. He nevef called my supervisor at the job where I was at for over a year and he never called my other temp agency to ask about their experience with me or to verify what the supervisors told them. I feel like the whole experience was a waste of time and I got a lot of run around and then a brush off

Great experience! I reached out to The Palmer Group right after college to aid in job placement process. Their staff was very professional and did an excellent job at finding me a job that was a perfect fit for my long-term career path.

Excellent staffing agency. They were able to find me a decent career out of college. They matched my skills to an appropriate position and I was eventually hired on with that company.
