I was very happy with our stay at the Mountain Modern Motel. It has recently been re-done, and the rooms and front desk area are modern and clean. There was plenty of storage in the room for gear in cubbies under a bench and with the "gear" closet. The soaps and lotions provided by the motel smell wonderful. The beds seemed newer and were comfortable too. They also provided free breakfast. The breakfast line can be a bit chaotic if the motel is full, so beware! Highly recommend. :)

My kids liked the bunk bed, but the walls were paper thin and the floor felt like we were walking on plywood. The shampoo was peppermint scented, yet it was paired with cilantro conditioner. Minor things, but at almost $200 a night, the place should have been better.

The rooms at Mountain Modern are great, well laid out with everything you need, we visited in the summer with only light baggage but there seems to be ample space for skis and bulky clothing too. Noise wasn t to much of a problem for us but you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms, I would imaging noise being a problem for some people . Ear plugs are provided so I assume management know the issues. Friendly check-in, Free parking, no breakfast included. Easy walking distance into Jackson
We had an enjoyable stay here.

Honestly, beautiful hotel, great location, loved that the hot tub was open during COVID. Good amenities including the best towels and nice bath stuff. However, hotel is on a main thoroughfare and the walls are THIN. Meaning, you could hear everyone s kids, people walking to get BBQ and playing loud music until past 10 pm (their quiet hours). A bit tough if you re trying to sleep and get up early but made do. Reception wasn t terribly helpful either.

Not worth the price. We stayed here one night and paid $286. It sounded like the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything, breakfast wasn t included, and it was like we were sleeping in an alley when we walked out of our room. It was cute inside but we wouldn t stay again.

We loved most things about our stay. The room is decorated in a fun way. The kitchen and bathroom areas are arranged well. Some items even gave us ideas we can use for our disabled son. Great storage space. The room was comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. The only problems were: our room door was difficult to close completely, and someone in the next room made a substantial amount of noise on our last night (not the motel's fault).

My stay here was poor because of 2 issues. First the checking was a mess, they told me I reserved 3 rooms when I only reserved 1 room. I immediately pointed out it could be another person with the same name, asked if they could verify the address. "Yes, everything is same" they said. I had to call Expedia to verify the reservation. After all that turns out I was right initially, it was a different person with same name. I never got an apology, just a "oh, you are ok now". But this nothing compare to what happened next. My room was in a hidden courtyard with a table outside the door. Well, turns out it was a popular spot for multiple smokers. And every time I open the door, smoke gets in the room. When I complained to the front desk, the response I got was "oh, you can tell the smokers to stop". Why is it my responsibility to tell people to stop smoking? If this hotel is truly non-smoking put the sign up and tell people not to smoke. I'm more upset about the response from the front desk, made no effort at addressing my issues. This is very poor customer service.

The place is clean and the remodel is nice. But parking is VERY horrible, more rooms than parking, and no secure wifi. Would probably not stay here again. And the walls are paper thin, can hear everything. In addition our alarm clock mysteriously went off at 5:50am.

Great boutique motel in Jackson to stop at for the night! Newly renovated - rooms are spacious and comfortable. Well thought out designs all around! There is a pool house that also has a hot tub and during not-COVID times there is a cafe in the lobby. We were on the 1st floor near a courtyard and it was definitely loud when people were sitting out there. If I were to stay again I would ask for a second floor room! Overall good experience.

There is not enough parking for the hotel and if you are lucky enough to find a spot enjoy your 300 point turn getting out of your spot. The first room they had us in was under construction and they had not realized it and we had to request another room. The second room (a handicap room) has a bathroom door that doesn't close all the way, and one mirror in the bathroom. The bathroom is also where the coffee maker, refrigerator, and trash can are so it's really a one person only room. The walls are super thin and when we called to make a complaint we found out the front desk closes at 10. And the advertised "grab -and- go" breakfast costs around $4 a person for a yogurt or part of a waffle.

We really loved the room! Super cute and close to downtown Jackson Hole. It is dog friendly and has so much storage which would be perfect for travelers hitting the slopes. It would be nice to lower pricing since the breakfast and hotel pool are closed due to COVID. We also got into town late and (we gave notice of late traveling in the notes when booking a few days prior)when we arrived the lobby was closed with no employees in sight. We had bad reception when calling the emergency number but they got a town security guard over to get us checked in so it worked out okay. Just made us a bit stressed when we first arrived. Overall we had a great stay though.

A bit pricy but par for the area. Great room set-up. We stayed with our two Old English Sheepdogs and there was plenty of room for them to lounge. The only down side was there was no outdoor space for potty breaks. The location is easy walking distance to the town square and dog friendly restaurants.

First time visit to Jackson Hole. We took the trip last minute. We did not plan hotels, stays, time in each location, etc. We booked Modern Mountain Motel at the last and we got the last room. With all the activities and scenery we decided we needed another night/day. We met with the hotel and inquired about another day. They only had one room which was much too big for our needs. The staff was able to make a switch and get us the same room. Thank you very much! Our stay was awesome.

Very good, mountain style, the decor of the rooms is incredible, it is located at the entrance of the Yelow Stone and Teton Park. The city is a mass absurdity, a must.
In this hotel, an interesting fact happened, an American woman stopped me in the hall and asked me if I was going to the national park, and offered a spray to scare Bear ... I didn't even know I needed it, she was leaving and I wouldn't need it anymore . I accepted. Thank you nice lady! I didn't have to scare off any bears but the doves that surrounded my house left lol.

Great value with free bus service to Jackson Hole and right next to town square and Snow King ski resort. Service was above and beyond. I forgot my backpack when I got to Jackson Hole so I called the office and Nasha went to my room to see if I had left it there. It wasn t there so it must have been left on the bus. She contacted the bus service for me and had it delivered to the resort on the next bus. She saved our day. Also includes breakfast and coffee and has a great restaurant on the property. Love the functional design of the rooms to store and dry our ski clothes. Also has an indoor pool and jacuzzi for after ski recovery. Only missing a dry sauna. Check out the modern rustic design features in the pics...

Booked my second 2 night visit here today. (First time was that good)
Had a wonderful, kind staff member check me in. (I wish I d gathered his name. Thank you, if you read this.)
Clean room, comfortable beds, cost effective, great parking!
What more can someone who booked on a whim ask for?

Extremely unfriendly service and really lacking amenities for what you pay. (Seemed like I was inconveniencing the gal at the front desk just by checking in.) The rooms seem cheaply remodeled, with tiny bathrooms. A $40 pet fee is absolutely ridiculous, esp when the rooms don't have any pet bowls or beds. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

Good for kids who are here to ski and sleep/split 4 to a room. Location and complimentary breakfast is great. Walls are way to thin, we were on the 2nd floor and heard everyone in the next 5 rooms walking around and talking. Cute wall decorations but everything is cheaply made. Not worth the money for us. Parking not great, but expected for Jackson. Staff was very friendly.

We booked a room at the Mountain Modern Hotal and due to unforseen changes to our tavels we ended up paying for the room without staying there. We were not able to change the night that we wanted to stay and the costumer service was not helpful at all. The only explanation we were given was that "it is clear on our website that reservations are not refundable and not changable." We wanted to stay in this hotel just on a different night. We ended up not staying here becasue we didn't want to pay for two nights. Do not book with this hotel if you want a positive customer service experience.

The website also sent a google calendar invite that was wrong. We booked a room for Wednesday night and the google calendar invite was set for Tuesday night.

It really is not a good business model if your customers have a bad experience before they even set foot in the door.

Nice design and clean rooms. Bathroom is small. The fan is paired with light and is very noisy when you go to toilet.
The motel is located on a busy road and you may not sleep well.
The staff was nice.
Poor breakfast is the key weakness of this motel. Almost no choice beyond sausage and bagel.

I wouldn t get thrown off by name. Stayed at multiple hotels that cost more in Jackson and this holds up with them. If you like breakfast which isn t big for me, I don t think they have it. Parking gets tight quick but there is parking on street and overflow. Would stay again. Close to downtown.

The Last Straw
Dear Management,
I was just recently in Jackson Hole, WY at your Mountain Modern Motels for a 3 day stay then a 1 day stays Sept 19th, 2017 and again on Sept 25th, 2017. I ended up being Very Disappointed in your accommodations! Anyone that has a room on any of the bottom floors at your property had better get ready for a sleepless night. My pre-stay research showed reviews complaining about the thin walls. Since over all they were few I decided to stay here. I Wish I Hadn t Done So. I was on my honeymoon and it was bad enough that my wife was not feeling well that we had to deal with a herd of elephants in the room above us. The first night starting at 8:30 pm the elephants were on the move above. We finally called the office to complain at 10 pm only to find out that maintenance was upstairs replacing a hot water heater. They were planning on keeping the noise up well into the night if we had not said anything. REALLY !!!!! What was bad is you could tell by the way they were working and walking that they were not intentionally stomping on the floor above. All of this noise was due to the old nature and construction of this motel. I am sure EVERY room on the bottom floor experienced this noise issue in some way or another. They did have maintenance stop their work that night. The next night around 8pm the guest above checked in and it was a herd of elephants again with 2 kids added in for good measures. I immediately walked to the front desk and asked what I needed to do to move out of my room because there was NO WAY I was going to listen to this all night. Again you could tell they were not stomping around upstairs. To the credit of the staff they did take care of this issue and had the guest move to another room even though I did not ask. I will give some good points on this motel. They were very clean and neat and well lay out and the beds were very comfortable.
When we returned the following Monday I requested and got a room upstairs which was very nice with no issues. We could tell when we were creeping softly around that we were making noise down stairs. The last straw came when we drove by the motel a couple of hours before check in. I noticed that 3/4 of the front parking lot was orange coned off. I didn t think much of it until we checked in and found no parking available at all in the front lot where our room was located. I noticed 3 guys out in the lot putting up signs and washing the windows on 10-12 cars. I went to front desk and asked what was going on. They told me that the car dealership was one of their sponsors and that they were letting them use the parking lot to show their cars. REALLY .Your Paying Guest were now having to park 50 75 yards to the back side of the motel in an unlit areas. Really Really???? You rent out your entire front lot to a car dealership and make your guest walk to their car in the cold wind and rain. It was 29-30 degrees at night and it was raining and was forecasted the rest of the week. Disgusted and walking back to my room I asked one of the dealership guys how long they were planning on being there hoping they were leaving soon. NOT, they told me they were going to be there until late Wednesday afternoon, 3 full days. Way to take care of your guest Mountain Modern This WAS THE LAST STRAW .. I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE EVER again!!!!

So cool!! Adorable updated motel with lots of charm and super cute decor!! Within walking distance to great food, bars, and downtown Jackson Hole. Our family of 6 stayed in one of the rooms with 2 over-the-bed bunks and our kids loved it!! We loved that we didn t have to reserve two rooms for our family. A unique place to stay and it was reasonably priced considering it s JH. They have a coffee shop with a good breakfast menu and pastries were great!! Hope to stay again next time we are headed that way.

Room decor was gorgeous but there is zero soundproofing to the rooms - waited 4 hours till the people above us to quit stomping around to finally sleep in a bed starting to go lumpy and no breakfast offerings - you can, however, buy a very overpriced microwave frozen sandwich for $4.50 and a 3 day stale cinnamon roll the size of child's fist for $3.50 in their cafe.

Very stylish and clean rooms. The staff were friendly and professional and the location is great. Close to downtown, but not so close that you are trapped in. The walls are, unfortunately, paper thin. And don't expect to be able to park on the property grounds every time.

I love that they have taken and old motel and show how woderfully remodeled it can be. Great place for young couples and families. Not great for older 55+ travelers (A bit noisy. Doors open to street which makes some feel less than secure. No handrails in bathroom. No onsite restaurant/breakfast). I personally loved it and would stay here again. Great room ammenities, look and feel.

We could ve given Mountain Modern Motel at least 4 stars, except for the attitude of the front desk staff.
The room was clean and seemed recently updated. The decor was a neat cross between camping with the bison and IKEA. There was no regular chair for putting on shoes, etc, just two barstools and a leather sling-style chair. The kitchenette/ bathroom sink area had a kitchen sink and quite a bit of counter space; both were pretty high for shorter adults and kids to brush teeth, etc. There was a lot of shelf and hanging space for luggage, jackets, etc. The air conditioning worked great. Even though we re used to memory foam, the innerspring mattresses and bedding were pretty comfortable with the exception of one edge being very broken-in. We were above the bbq restaurant, so we had a nice deck with a table and four chairs to use right outside our room. Music from the restaurant came into the room, but was generally shut off by 10:30 PM. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant and helpful.
However, we d never been to the area and had reservations for seven nights. After one night we asked if we could shorten our reservation to six nights as we wanted to head back towards Salt Lake City a day early. The front desk was very abrupt in saying no . When we checked out, we tried again, with the same rough attitude given. The front desk maintained the same unfriendly attitude with even minor requests.
The price was fair for the location, amenities, and room quality. If we d checked in and had no requests of the front, we might feel differently about the overall experience. We re pretty easy-going and don t ask for much. We felt like 6 days in advance should ve been plenty to allow for a reservation change. Apparently, they don t agree. We ll do more research in the future.
