Nice venue in a not so nice area. You have to walk through an arcade of shops which is not nice. Full of rubbish and youngsters hanging around. Lovely place nice staff. Shame about the area.

NEA'S Community Cafe serves fresh, affordable breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday (10-2.30pm). The cafe also has hot and cold drinks, great coffee and sweet treats. It's a bright, airy cafe with indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids so you can relax with a coffee and know the kids are playing safely nearby. The garden is definitely worth exploring and is a proper sun trap in summer. It's a place to play, relax, explore and create. Go Green and take your Keep Cup and you can collect coffee reward points too. North Edinburgh Arts is well worth a visit.

The area feels very run down and not particularly safe. Its difficult to find your way around to car park as there are a lot of roadworks. The theatre space itself is a wee diamond in the rough and very well looked after.

This community is so friendly and welcoming. The food in the cafe is delicious and big portions for such little price. Love the haggis. The various hobby groups are fantastic as well. NEAC is doing amazing things for the community.

North Edinburgh Arts (NEA) is a cultural center located in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland. The purpose-built venue offers local residents a place to relax, explore, learn, meet, volunteer and have fun. NEA is an award-winning venue that incorporates two studios, a 96-seat theatre, recording studio, gallery space for exhibitions and events as well as offices and a café with children’s play area leading onto a large garden.
The center was established in 2002 with the aim of providing access to arts and culture for all members of the community. Since then it has become an integral part of the local community offering diverse programs that cater to people from all walks of life.
NEA's mission is to provide opportunities for people to engage with art and culture regardless of their background or experience. They believe that everyone should have access to high-quality cultural experiences that enrich their lives.
One of the unique features of NEA is its commitment to working with local artists and communities. They offer residencies for artists who want to develop their practice while engaging with local communities through workshops or performances.
The center also runs various programs throughout the year including exhibitions by emerging artists from Scotland and beyond; theater productions featuring both professional actors as well as community groups; music concerts ranging from classical recitals through jazz sessions up until contemporary pop gigs; film screenings showcasing independent cinema from around the world; workshops on everything from painting techniques through digital media skills up until creative writing classes.
NEA's café serves delicious food made using locally sourced ingredients where possible. It's not just about good food though - it's also about creating a welcoming atmosphere where people can come together over coffee or lunch while enjoying some art on display in the gallery space next door.
