Marshall Fields

Because they had what I wanted when I shopped there. I purchased Cocoa Mademoiselle Parfum by Chanel and received 20%off my purchase.
How good is that? Macy's on State is great! Now is the time shop there with the holidays approaching.

Unfortunately, Marshall Field is no longer inexistence! They were bought out by Macy's and they now occupy the first eight floors of the building formerly known as Field's. Macy's has many of the same qualities that Field's had including the decorated windows for Christmas and the large Christmas tree in the Walnut Room. We enjoy shopping there, especially during the Christmas season.

Lunch up on 7. Most places there are closed on Saturday, but not all.

Amazing landmark from an era when department stores ruled retail, and knew how to earn customer loyalty.

I love this building, for it is where I met my bride of 31 years....We had lunch with our Son who will be 20 years old this year...The family tradition continues....Enough said...!

Each year we go to the Walnut Room for our annual visit, never disappoints us.

This is the biggest Macy's I've ever seen . Everything you could want is here. I could stay here all day long. All sizes different varieties I was in heaven. I think this Macys stretched over 6 blocks in a perfect square. It was so big I thought there were two Macy's in Chicago. The art work in the ceiling if you look up is fabulous and ever floor has a balcony, you can look over and down up or across.

I won in Court so I I went to the Walnut Room to celebrate. NOT! It was terrible.

Great place to go shopping for the clothes, smell goods, or just to visit

A must see beautiful place. Head up to the sixth floor to enjoy a meal, after you've shopped the other 5 floors.

Have taken my Daughter's and Granddaughter THIER. Next Great-grandchildren (soon)

60 years visiting this icon. I was born in Chicago. Now I live in Florida. Lunch at the walnut room with my sister that has cancer. Room looked tired pilling paint dark slow elevator. Still love this place.

Macy*s has great sales, such a large range of items. You can furnish your home, deck out your kitchen, buy clothing, shoes, beauty tools, products, fine to costume jewelry and leather goods. Gadgets and a food court make it kinda great. Proximity is best feature of Marshall Fields Macys

I've always loved the history of the State St. location; but, I really appreciate the store (in these days of on-line buying) for continually offering quality products you can touch and feel before plunking down the almighty dollar.

This place is an awesome sight to see. It's essentially Macy's but it's undescribable if the only Macy's you've ever seen is the two-story at your basic mall. We all went in and just looked around without even the intention of buying anything it was amazing and definitely worth looking at.

Sometimes you just need an old fashioned shopping experience.

Clothing store. It looks a bit messy, but you'll end up finding some good offers (broken crackers). It has good marks.

This store goes all out for Christmas superb decorations and atmosphere.

Very interesting and historically valuable as far as American history is concerned.

Great downtown Macy's with plenty of floors to see & explore. The best part of this location is the holiday window displays, worth walking around the building for that reason alone. Floor 7 is a water fountain from the original Marshall Field days, kinda cool. Best thing of this building is looking up, the ceilings are a work of art.

Wish it was Marshall Field and Company again, bring it back!!!! Then I can give the 5 stars. Macy's on State St. needs to get on top of things and fix it up please!!! What a shame, Marshall fields ALWAYS looked it's very best. Macy's at woodfield mall employees not very friendly and inviting . . IT'S JUST NOT MARSHALL FIELDS AND COMPANY that's why!!

I love the building but I really missed the name of Marshall Field and Co. Unfortunately, I never shop at Macy's.

Always a large number of products of different brands and types in balances of another season. It often takes time to search due to agglomeration. The delay in the boxes depends on the number of people and the time. It is not usually fast.

I use the 7th floor court. I'll the Japanese station. nice veriaty of food. great ramen soup

Historical Chicago. Walnut Room. It will always be Marshall Fields to me.

No store offers a greater variety of merchandise than Macy's State street store. Always has great sales and bargains in the "Last Act".

The products are complete, all kinds of high-end famous brands have, there must be suitable products.

Love eating by the big tree and looking at the windows.

I miss the old place but this new place has a lot to offer.

Huge selection of goods, with international brands price and favorable quality

I absolutely love this place, so much history, clean, organized, ample selection, excellent customer service, restaurant in the premise, numerous floors of merchandise, also have seasonal shows, my favorite one is the flower one!

Macy's seems to be doing all it can to destroy the grandness of this building and make it look and function like an over priced Kmart. Visit now while the beauty is mostly still there in the building.

Love this place, but it's lost a lot of it's magic since the old Marshall Fields days
