The servers were super friendly and helpful, they guided is through their wine collection and told us a great deal about the history of the establishment.
They really knew their stuff and are very personable. I would dedicatedly return again. The wines were good of course!
We got 50%off on the tasting because we used the discount card that's available at the visitors center.

We opened our Bottle of Collide that we purchased 3 years ago and it was fantastic. We had a great visit to the tasting room and enjoyed revisiting our experience when we opened this wine.
The wines are amazing and the staff is just as amazing! Love their logo!
We are locals who visited this place during the summer, and won't ever be visiting again...
We went because we received a 2-for-1 discount card/referral from another winery, and were in the area getting food at Oxbow so decided to check it out. We normally love Tempranillo, so decided to try the mid-level tasting that had some Tempranillo and Grenache blends. The wines were okay, but the prices were not (tasting fees way too high if you don't use the 2-for-1 promotion, and bottles costly, as well: $60 for a Tempranillo on par, or slightly below, good ones we can get for about $30, like Numanthia Termes)
...and the service was atrocious. As soon as we presented the coupon, we were treated coldly, as well as being given pretty small pours. At the end of the tasting, when they rang us up, they AUTOMATICALLY added a tip to the bill, which we didn't catch (because we didn't expect it -- it is NOT the expected norm to tip at tasting rooms) until after the transaction.
We asked to void the transaction because we did not want to tip a whopping 25% (!!) -- especially not with the small pours and cold, indifferent service we had received -- and when we did so, the man in charge (tall guy with long hair) said "No, we're not going to do that. We're too busy." After arguing with him about it, he yelled "Fine, here's your 7 dollars!" and handed it to us in cash.
There are SO many wineries in Napa Valley that this one simply isn't worth visiting, not even once. The wines are average, and overpriced; the experience itself is BELOW average. If you want another small, funky tasting room with similar "hip" vibe -- but with way better wines -- check out Orin Swift in St. Helena.
Great experience. The ambiance is eclectic but the people behind the counter know their stuff. The chocolate pairing is definitely a bonus but the wines can absolutely stand alone without a pairing.
I didn't go to this place, I went next door and got a haircut. Therefore, I'll include a picture of something that has nothing to do with the wine shop.
Lisa is such a delight. I have been back 3 times in the last 6 months because obviously the wine is great, but she creates such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere I think of going to Mark Herald as my first stop in Napa Valley. Thanks Lisa!
Highly recommend! Such a great wine tasting experience, very informative. Lisa and Sierra were our hosts and were very accommodating of our group of 6. Tasting room was well kept and clean, felt safe after our visit. Thank you so much ladies, can't wait until our wine gets delivered!
I didn t realize being friendly would be perceived as drunk. But to Lisa that is what it means. We purchased a bottle of wine but she wouldn t let me finish it with the rest of my group. Yes, the wine was good but unfortunately the service could not meet the standard.
Would not recommend this establishment. My Wife and I bought a wine tasting pass that incuded this tasting bar, but they turned away our business because "they don't accept the pass on weekends." As a small business owner of 15 years I have learned not to turn away any business - especially when you pay to have your name published in the visitor guide. On top of that, the bartender was extremely rude about the whole situation. I have never seen a small business survive that turns away tourism, I was really disappointed with this wine bar.
It was ok. Just OK. The wines were nice but the service was, at first, lacking. The lady seemed disinterested. Then we struck up a conversation with the young chap who had only just begun working there and he was great. Nice guy with great people skills. A gentleman. The wines were good and it's affordable so do give it a try. I think that I personally prefer the tastings at a vineyard as it's much more relaxing.
Visited while celebrating our 50th anniversary in May. Thank you to Mike and Carol for making our visit special. The Flux 2012 (Grenache) was outstanding!!. Planning to order some to be shipped. Thanks again
Outstanding, amazing wines. Just an incredible display of art in a bottle.
You could do worse than spending some time here. The people are tops and the wines very enjoyable. I am somewhat of a Tempranillo fan. There Acha offering stands tall with any I've tasted. At $28 a bottle I thought Collide a bargain. Totally enjoyable hour and half here.
Best wine tasting in downtown Napa, open 7 days a week! Wine and Chocolate pairing for those with a sweet tooth.
Lisa couldn't have been nicer...wines were fabulous...
A great tasting room, very eclectic decor, awesome wines from Mark Herold
Great group of guys!! Great wine!! Go and try the chocolate and wine pairing, delicious!! They are very friendly and know their wines!!
Great little tasting room, with a punk feeling, good music, and energetic staff. Oh and the wine is good too.
Great and friendly guys. Very Local Napa. Had a great time wine tasting there
Great place and amazing staff. When you want some different wines that are not the typical ones you get everywhere else in Napa, then go here. Great wines.
Love the wine, the atmosphere, the staff, so much so that I signed up for their wine club. Couldn't be happier!
Hippiee, use the backdoor. If youbwant some serious, but fun wine, Herold is it. Thebtasting room staffs are beyond knowledgable about the subject of wine.
Fun atmosphere if you visit with friends. Bartender was friendly and helpful.
We've been a wine club member here for a couple of years and so took some friends to the tasting room there while visiting in May. The service was pretty crummy. The make bartender spent most of his time kibitzing with a table of women, when he wasn't taking a smoke break, and the female bartender yakked most of the time with a friend. Meanwhile, our glasses sat empty more than they did with wine in them and a wine order our friends placed never got nto the system. Thinking about cancelling our membership.
A great atmosphere for fun, good wine, and amazing bartenders!
