Low key ambiance with interesting drinks. The cocktails they're popular for are pretty unique. I had the chia seed cocktail and the star anise. It's a fun place to try out for a quiet night of catching up with a friend or a fun place for a date!

Cocktails are delicious and healthy.
Definitely will go back there.
Meh. Mediocre - but granted creative - drinks. Service and experience underwhelming.
I'm sure things are usually better, but the holiday special were pretty sloppy. Not super impressed.
It's a quirky take on cocktails based on spices from around the globe--great concept considering when you see the word "cilantro" and you expect an incoherent drink. However, you'd be pleasantly surprised by the complexity of the drink--this is true to almost all of their creations. Go with an open mind because if you go in with a vodka-screwdriver mentality, you'll be out of your comfort zone. A great place with a genuine concept, accompanied by an amazing staff. Must visit! But PLEASE fix the air-conditioning unit!
Love the drinks here. Ambience is quiet and everything is well-designed. My fav is the white tea cocktail called "Grass" (I think? Got too drunk after trying 1/2 of the menu). Will be back to try the food next time!
Delicious drinks every time I've been here (and also the old location). Non alcoholic options are also available and very tasty. Great bartenders!
Really fun spot to meet up with friends. Unique, delicious cocktails.
Oh what a find!!! Amazing cocktails, friendly host and staff... go get yourself a cocktail
Decided to check out this place after a friend recommended it. The drinks taste great, it s a really cool spot, although the music was a bit too loud, so talking/hearing was difficult. Decided to give it a shot at the Ants drink... yeah, real ones of top of it I know it s NY but not sure it justifies paying $15-$16 each drink.
Fantastic, inventive cocktails in an unpretentious setting. Cozy but not overly crowded on a late Friday night.
The best coctails in east village. I love the clear menu, the spices, and the bartenders are nice and friendly. Great music.
Super inventive cocktails. If you re looking for an out of the box drinks menu definitely check it out. They have all sorts of interesting ingredients - herbs, tonics, teas all infused with spirits.
French bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly. There s also yummy truffled popcorn!
Incredible new cocktail bar in E Village. Drinks are extremely well crafted, with layers of complexity and always a little something to make you say "hmm, what WAS that?". The menu design is great, stirring up questions and syncing the whole process. Especially loved the "Dill" and "Celery Seed" offerings.
Tapas are great, staff is knowledgeable I'll definitely be back to taste more cocktails
This place has a very chill vibe and the drinks stand out. You can tell the bartender take pride on their presentation.
Not bad. Some of their cocktails are a bit watery. But some are very well made. Not my main vibe though.
Me and my boyfriend love this place!!!! Amazing cocktails
Excellent Service and very creative cocktails. Highly recommended spot.
It's often too easy to write off yet another cocktail bar -- but not this one. Tucked away in a quieter part of the East Village, this place brims with the hip and in-the-know. Drinks are unique and full of ingredients you may not know, but soon will. The impressive and attentive bar staff serve them with ease, and the drinks are as delicious as they are expertly crafted and beautiful.
Very impressed with everything about Mace! I loved the ambience, low key with nice music in the background. But the drink menu is wonderful. Every drink is based on a different spice (ginger, lavender, black sesame seed, white pepper, etc.). It's unlike any other cocktail bar we've been to. A must stop when you're in New York!
Great selection of cocktails! Had saffron which was dangerously smooth and delicious. It was infused with saffron, pistachios, egg whites, lemon among other things!
Superb, incentive cocktails in a compact bar with chill vibes. A+ service too.
Very good craft cocktails and a DJ Saturday nights.
I had the drink with the same name as the bar and was absolutely impressed. Awesome bar to hang out with friends or just have a nice cocktail.
A comfort zone to hangout alone or with friends on a weekend afternoon when the place is bathed in sun not people. The bar tender is friendly and easy to get information on the cocktail. There are many indoor plants which I like. The cocktail menu change regularly and plant is the unchanged theme.
Service was nothing special and doesn t deserve 5 stars, but the drinks sure do. Some excellent cocktails and I went during the Christmas pop up. solid place for milk puches too
One of the most--if not the best--innovative cocktail bars in New York. Hats off to the team at Mace.
Not happy with bar service. If you don't have a seat, you won't be served.
Hidden gem. A cocktail bar for cocktail nerds and anyone in the mood for a drinking experience. Culinary technique applied to cocktails and easily one of my favorite bars. Get in before it creeps much higher on the World's best list.
Unique cocktails are expertly crafted. Music and service are great. I wish they had a bigger/more diverse food selection and a couple of other wine choices for the non-cocktail drinkers. Otherwise great.
Christian knows cocktails and how to mix, shake, stir and pour them. Every cocktail is a masterpiece. Yum!
I love well-crafted, high quality, and fancy cocktails. We spoke with a couple of bartenders at a fun event which bar was their favorite one in NYC. They had a few favorites, but the number one choice was Mace. I had my eye on Mace for a while, but haven t had the chance to visit them now that we know it was an awesome spot to get some amazing cocktails, we had to go!
The inside was quite small, but to my surprise, they used to be even smaller They have recently moved to this new location, with a bit more space. With its popularity, their space gets filled up quick!
We got a couple of small bites to go with our drinks; Potato Crips and Spiced Nuts. They were quite tasty, went great with their cocktails.
I loved their drink menu, with spices stealing all the spotlight. Everything else plays the supporting role to the main spice here. We tried Thai Chili, Ghost Chili, and Ginger. All high quality, well crafted, balanced, really wonderful drinks! No wonder this spot is on the top of other bartender's list...
Their drinks are a bit pricy, but you get amazing cocktails of the highest quality. I would love to try all of their drinks! So interesting and creative, tasty and innovative.
Very high quality cocktails and service. The drinks here are the most unique I've had in NYC. They're doing great things here with their menu
Great drinks, friendly staff, plantain chips were great! Also, phenomenal playlist.
Love this place. As the name suggests, cocktails are based upon different spices. Some of the bartenders are really cool, others not so much. Unfortunately, this place is becoming a little too popular for my tastes; if you don't want to wait in a 30 minute line to get in, you might consider other, lesser known cocktail bars in the area.
Been here a few times. Really nice atmosphere. Waiters know their stuff and are very friendly. Drinks are UNIQUE! But don't get me wrong, in this case that's a good thing. Nothing tastes bad, although the ingredients are quite different. I've tried the entire menu and can't say anything wasn't a delight. One note though, if you are looking to reach the next level here, U will have to do ALOT of tasting. Looking for something to drink out of the ordinary. This is the place!!!
Unique and delicious drinks - particularly loved the boba and ants one!
This is one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city. Incredibly innovative, delicious concoctions that change every few months, in a low-key, relatively quiet space. Its being dimly lit, with candles, adds to the mystique, and I can't help but think that I've ventured into some fancy forest healer's hut, where the cure is esoteric booze, and lots of it.
Very unique drinks, definitely worth coming here if you have a chance
Expensive but some cocktails are worth it. I'd recommend the chicory, mace and ants!
Showed up on the day that they changed to a Miracle Christmas bar. I'm not a Xmas fan but this place was fun. Especially with the Santa heads in jars. Service was quick and cheerful, drinks were tasty and stiff I'm so glad to have experienced this establishment.
Amazing cocktails with an amazing professional staff...reasonably priced with snacks!!
Poor service. They claimed they were out of space due to a large group and tried to restrict my friend and I to a specific spot in the corner of the bar. I am not cattle and I will not be herded.
Can make you a mean classic cocktail or something truly unique. Also solid bites for the hungry drinkers.
Great dive bar. Needs games or something, though. Or maybe I just need more interesting company...
Great vibe, very romantic and chill, great cocktails and awesome service. Fairly quick and not too crowded.
My favorite cocktail bar in Manhattan is one of the top 50 bars in the world. Look it up if you don't believe me...
Absolutely adore this place. The drinks are outstanding, start with the Mace and you'll see what I mean.
Very good address on east village.
Warm welcome, attentive staff.
The cocktails are refined and sought after.
Delicious cocktails, sidewalk seating, super friendly service, and hot dogs!
I've frequented Rye off and on for years(many years) and over this time period, I can honestly say I now have a new found appreciation of this lounge spot in the Tenderloin. The layout and decor looks mostly the same. How can you miss the smokers cage facing Geary St?
My new favorite cocktail bar. All the drinks are original, complex, perfectly balanced and amazing.
Small cocktail place serving seasonal innovative creations.
Excellent creative cocktails, though a bit on the pricy end.
Great service, great cocktails!
Loved it. Will definitely come back.
Oh man, talk about an East Village cocktail bar. They serve some high-end cocktails and have a very chill vibe and scene. Professional bartenders that know how mix and know how to work with customers. Dark lighting, boutique liquors, cool music, and on point service.
This is the place for you if you want to drink like a connoisseur. But you need to handle yourself appropriately - meaning, you need to handle your booze.
Favorite cocktail bar from the menu illustrations to the actual cocktails to the service. You're in good hands.
Damn those were good drinks. The bartender, Natasha I believe, was awesome also. Very hospitable and I wished I could have stayed longer and drank more. I posted the Kimchi cocktail which was very tasty
A great classic of New York cocktail bars, a place where you are not mistaken it's always good the welcome is nice a pleasure to have a drink
Great cocktails, great bartenders. Highly underrated spot!!!
Fancy curated cocktails in post-modern setting. Unusual combinations of flavors Staff can be friendlier.
Lovely cocktail bar! They offer complex and expertly created cocktails and is a great place to grab a treat. Make sure to sit at the bar so you can actually watch the bartender work his magic!
Grass ("Silver Needle Tip White Tea-Infused Mizu Shochu, Grass Cordial") and Paprika ("Blanco Tequila, Smoked Paprika & Pea Shrub, Balsamic Vinegar, Verjus, Champagne") were extremely good cocktails! I spilled my Grass after having half of it, but my waiter brought me another one. Very friendly and gracious and quiet staff. Loved this place.
Mace has possibly the most interesting cocktails in NYC. You won't find a Moscow Mule or Appletini on the menu, although I'm sure they would make you an incredible one if you asked. All of their cocktails are handcrafted and unique; their recipes blend spices, herbs, temperatures, and textures to give you a drink that you will not forget.
Modern, chic and bustling cocktail bar. Great service and a great selection of unique cocktails. Unfortunately there is no good beer here though. When i asked the bar tender if they had any bottled beer he look confused and responded "beer?".
Cocktails creatively themed around different herbs. Drinks tasted great although the room was far too hot and the service was slow.
This is one of favourite cocktail bars in NYC! It's a modern chic venue, it's not too noisy (you can actually converse without losing your voice!), and the cocktail menu is top notch. My recent favourite was the bubble tea cocktail- so innovative and well balanced.
Awesome drinks, with interesting cocktails that use spices as the theme. Staff is nice as well.
