Great cinema. Very well designed and different from your average cinema. Has a great selection of arthouse movie's and blockbuster's. They also do special parties for new releases where fancy dress is encouraged. They also do special seasons and festivals. Arrive early as seating is non reserved but you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine while you wait. Owned and operated by Element pictures one of Irelands leading independent movie and TV producers.

Really enjoy coming here, it's much better than your standard big chain cinema. Very reasonably priced with special movie days, showing old films like E.T & Back to the Future. I was too young to visit the cinema and watch these flicks on the big screen, so now to have the opportunity to now is greatly appreciated!

The seats are really comfortable and the way they are positioned mean you won't miss a thing even if you have a tall person with an afro sitting in front of you. The decor inside the foyer is really nice it's very modern looking and well lit with plenty of seating and a cafe to grab a coffee while maybe waiting for friends

I went to see the documentary about Alexander McQueen, it was a wonderful experience. Being in the lighthouse feels like no other cinema, it feel like I'm right at home. The lighthouse is about celebrating art on the big screen and sharing the experience of cinema with others.
If you haven't been already, trust me, you're missing out.

Given my general dissatisfaction with my local cinemas, I have taken a number of chances on the lighthouse and have consistently enjoyed my experience of it.
While I still do occasionally watch mainstream cinema, the lighthouse quenches my thirst for something far moreso, offering the really only decent place in Dublin to watch arthouse, independent, foreign and classic cinema and even in rare cases, Japanese animation on the big screen.
Additionally the staff genuinely do feel as if they know what they're talking about and enjoy their jobs , one member was kind enough to offer me a class of free water when I was feeling ill.
As well as this, the cinema is cleaner than others and there has never been any problems in the way of misbehaving patrons, a member of staff is generally always on watch by the door .
They also sometimes get in actors/directors/guests to q/a before/after the film .

The only real catch is its sort of expensive, you can't really get any buttered popcorn and it isn't in the handiest of locales but it proves worth the price and trip.

My favourite cinema in Dublin, hands down. I stopped going to a lot of other cinemas because of how inconsistent the viewing experience was, so I can guarantee that this is where you go for a consistently great experience, every time. The seating, image, sound and the wonderfully stocked lobby just add up to make it perfect. It helps there is a table tennis table downstairs while you wait.

Lovely atmosphere, shows indie/foreign films you probably won't see in other more mainstream cinemas and even does theme film series (ie Kubrick season)
There's a nice little coffee shop and even a bar so you can have a beer with your popcorn and movie! Also it costs much less than other cinemas (popcorn does not cost the same as a meal out!)

This is a great cinema located in picturesque Smithfield. Its got an old school cinema theatre feel to it with modern decour and state of the art screens. Its also one of the few cinemas in de city that will show films and not just movie blockbusters. Moderatly priced but not cheap.

it's a lovely cinema but the directions to the place are very bad if you aren't familiar with the area. The directions kept sending me to queen's street and Blackhall place and it was only when I had given up and was walking randomly around that I stumbled across it. directions from the luas stop should just say that it's straight down and on the left!

Perfectly designed, full of eye catching details. Perfect size of screens and different movie theaters, comfortable seats. Beside and most of all selection of movies that are not the most commercial but you can see there a quality movies .
