A very large sprawling hotel near all amenities and public transport. The entrance is down a small road but the main bus stop for buses coming from the airport is at the back of the hotel, which means you have to walk down and around against the traffic. With children or large luggage this wouldn't be great, but there is no other way to get to the entrance. I think the hotel was too big and so most of the rooms do not have any view at all. It does however boast a lovely outdoor pool on the rooftop that is a very relaxing place to hang out after a long day.

Very nice hotel, located in the main street of Valletta. Very large and very comfortable rooms, different services provided by the hotel, I recommend to see the website directly for this. Staff very kind and helpful. Very good breakfast with a wide choice. They have a private beach, adjacent to which there is always a great restaurant.

Rooms ok, no views on balcony. Overall needs updating. Carpets dirty and some hallways and areas smell bad. Place appears to be 3 properties connected together at various points, hard to navigate across floors. We were on diamond resorts side, wifi is almost not there, speed tested at 2mb down .8mb down. Not sure how they made it that slow 24 hours a day but they did it.

Rooftop pools were nice, people helpful and friendly.

Beach they own is 2 blocks down the street, this was nice with beach dining that was fun. BBQ was good. Also have a beach seafood place that was very good.

We were supposed to stay at InterContinental Hotel for 10 nights but we had to move to another place as it was impossible to sleep and get some rest over the night. Even though our room was on the 11th floor, we heard how drunk tourists shouted and sang songs outside. And it s not a wonder, the hotel is located in the party area and there are 3 strip clubs next to the hotel and a lot of bars and cafes. It s literally impossible to relax and enjoy your vacation unless you want to party the whole night.
But I can t complain about the hotel staff. They are very friendly, they tried to do their best, offered a free dinner at their restaurant and also to change our room.
Also there is a nice outside pool area and the gym.
But if your goal is to relax and enjoy your time during vacation, better choose another hotel outside of this area.

This year's 3-day ELT conference was held at the intercontinental. Found it well-organised and convenient to get around the different conference halls. The food and facilities were standard and we also benefitted from the open day at the gym and the pool.

Intercontinental Group Hotel is always a great guarantee, even for the lowest category hotels. Intercontinental is the top of the range, 5 stars. Intercontinental Malta meets high standards, including a great location in St. Julian, outside the crowded Paceville, at the bottom of Cala S. Giorgio. Strongly recommended

Located in the night life of Malta, Intercontinental is a five star hotel you may choose if you wish to have some luxury. Breakfast is very good, staff is amazing. Rooms need some renewing but still in shape. Has a private beach where they start collecting sunbeds at 5 pm. That is very annoying by the way. Most of the people come to beach after 3-4 pm. You may go to the public beach right next to it. The beach in general is in a deep bay so the water is not very good.

In Hungarian below !!

Dear Sir / Madam,

I would like to make a complain about your hotel!
Me and my husband have been working so hard all year so we can save money and go somewhere nice for Holliday. We decided to go to Malta and picked your Hotel! And we are really disappointed! The day when we arrived in the hotel at 3pm the receptionist asked ass to go sit down and wait. One thing that where we sit down from the ceiling water was dripping down on my husband but we have been waiting more then a hour and no one came once let as know what's happening! The room we got was unacceptable! The furniture were old and dirty the wive from the balcony was horrible ... all we could see a building side and was too much noise around! In the bath room had not one bin neither toilet rush only one bin had in the room what don't even had bin bag in it! When we went down to the pool we ordered some drink we payed 7 we gave 10 and never got any change back ..when we wanted to order the second drink they got no ice left ... we are very disappointed paying so much money out for a 5 * hotel ... what actually is on a 3 * hotel level!

Dear Director!
Let me write down my thoughts for you. En and my husband, we work hard all year to vacation 1x in some nice place for 1 year. This year we opted for Malta, it was our biggest camel ever. Obviously, you can't make the whole island a rubbish heap and that unfriendly people have taken us everywhere, but you are responsible for the lack of the hotel. By the day we arrived, I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. We arrived at the hotel at 3pm, the receptionist was a little patient, we took a seat in the salon where my husband's border dripped from the ceiling.16pm we got tired of waiting and walked back to the counter to ask how long we had to wait. He was an English-speaking receptionist (we come from Hungary and we speak German, but not English) so we didn't really understand anything. They announced that tomorrow there will be someone who speaks German. We went up to the smoking balcony room on the 13th floor, which is nice and clean. but when I stepped out onto the patio I didn t know if I was crying or laughing. The view cannot be poured into words, it looks like a ruined house, construction site, crane and noise everywhere. nor a trash can, I don't understand why, I've never seen anything like it. Not a single trash bag in the room!
In the next few days we went down to the pool to have a splash, we got the cocktail 1 hour after I arrived. , so they could not bring. (It was 7pm, you can use the pool until 8pm) Unfortunately this hotel doesn't deserve 5 stars, I don't even understand how you could get it. Thanks to the few Hungarian workers who made our week bearable .. Never again Intercontinental !!!

Clean, comfortable, deluxe hotel in an excellent location with outstanding staff service. The room is very well apportioned, large, very comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom had spacious tubs to rejuvenate. The breakfast included was sumptous. The initial lack of communication of a free breakfast had us standing in a queue for a while, but they eventually got it squared away. The vicinity of the hotel is filled with nightlife, restaurants, bars and great places to walk to. The area is hilly to walk. Nearby was a Pakistani restaurant with the best food that we had tasted.

I stayed here and agree it's not great. I agree, the SPG resort is better. Stayed there too.

Many of the positive ratings, not all, read the same. Take a closer look. Fake reviews, folks, from the property staff. Don't believe me, stay here and judge for yourself.

Crappiest five-star ever...not worth the brand name. <br/>I've stayed in many nice hotels, and this Intercontinental should have never gotten the name nor five stars...the rooms are outdated and smelly, the mattress must have slept a million people, the staff is not service-oriented, the roof top pool is a 60(!!) EUR extra charge and the main pool looks like something from the era of the communist bloc. At the pool, you have to present a dedicated card to get one and exactly one towel and they will only return the card if you return the (pretty ugly) towel - in a five-star! Now I'm not sure what kind of people are staying here that make this necessary but I would never ever choose this hotel (I'm here on business so I have to stay). Oh, and in the rooms there is a card telling you it is NOT allowed to have foods or drinks purchased outside the hotel IN YOUR ROOM - can you imagine? This place is a joke! Don't fool yourself into thinking you can get a five star for less...this is maybe three stars.

Right in the heart of St Julian's night life area surrounded by bars clubs and restaurants one is spoiled with the choice. ( Quieter after Covid19 )
The hotel itself is professionally manned by well mannered and capable personnel. The hotel boasts 2 rooftop pools the one for the guests and the impressive infinity pool with a great view of Skybeach service of food and drinks served at the gazebos or sunbeds 5 Stars for that too.

Attended a conference in this hotel. Didn t stay in the hotel as a guest. The conference facilities on the ground floor are quite good - a spacious plenary room, with 3 close breakout rooms. However, one of the breakout rooms (Jupiter) smelled musty and damp. The conference I attended needed more than just 3 breakout rooms, so the other rooms are several floors up and round a winding long corridor - not convenient! The conference lunch was held at the hotel and was extremely good.

Hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It has a striking structure in the region and this one, located in the Center. The rooms, although comfortable and clean, need some modernization. However, the hotel offers fantastic spa service, extraordinary communal facilities and superb restaurants! All restaurants with good cuisine and framed prices.

The hotel generally corresponds to the German standard of a 4 star hotel.
We were there on vacation, construction work was carried out in the hotel.
I complained gently and the receptionist's answer is the reason why I only give 2 stars.
She apologized and offered me earplugs.
The hotel was not particularly busy I can judge it because I saw the lights in the other rooms over the week.
The overview was very good because the hotel is arranged in the area like a U.
I think it would have been possible to get another room.
The construction work could be heard continuously from 9:00 a.m. to around 4:00 p.m.
Not a nice vacation in the room.
But the island is very beautiful.
