By far the best hotel I've in Puerto Rico. It has everything you need, from the tropical view to the comfort in their rooms. This hotel is a place where people from any age have fun. You should definitely have at Las Brisas Restaurant and take a ride to Palomino Island. If you taking vacations you need to stay here, plus the resort provides transportation from San Juan Airport to El Conquistador if you're arriving from another country.

We were excited to stay here because it looks wonderful from the outside. Our room was a complete mess. The bed sheets AND pillow cases had brown stains on them, there were dead bugs on the bathroom floor, and when asked to get a new room, we didn t get a call back until the middle of the night, when we already slept. We had to sleep on the beds with barely anything. Horrible customer service and rooms.

Beautiful views and the parts of the hotel that were open were very pretty, but the place was clearly understaffed (although the staff they did have was friendly) and missing many of the amenities. If you are looking for a nice hotel with a beautiful view, stay here. If you are looking for a fancy, oceanside resort with night life and restaurants, wait until restorations are done. Overall fun time but a little disappointed from (completely understandable) lack of amenities.

I was there for a week vacations a couple months ago with wife and kids, we ask to be moved from our room because there were ants on the floor, we asked to be moved 3 times, 3 different rooms all of them infested with ants, when we called the concierge they answered us to kill the ants... imagine... I'll never go back again.

Place still mostly closed due to Maria. One building open but not all the fun things like water park or private island.

I feel sorry that you suffered from the hurricane - the 1-star is for your misinformation though. Keep people updated on your homepage and don t pretend everything is fine.

The hotel is under construction. Rooms are full of dust, me and my family got sick during the stay. During breakfast an employee was very rude because ours names doesn t appeared on the list. It was not a plenty weekend. Also is very stressful waiting for someone to get you to the parking lot. Do not recommend it.

Excellent hotel. Although the facilities were not 100% operational, what could be used was in very good condition. The staff, starting with the young woman at the Front Desk (Wanda) were extremely friendly and professional from our arrival to our dismissal.

The pool is spectacular and the view in our room was like a movie.

Paradise! Beautiful views, huge hotel, lots of things to do including their own private island that you can go do water sports, hiking, horse back riding or just chill at the beach, they also have a water park and a few golf courses. Also every amenity available, game room, pools, dancing at night, no need to leave the resort. Had no issues, staff was very friendly and helpful.

Extremely pleasant and beautiful hotel

This place is in all honesty great. The hotel room was great with a king bed, small couch balcony and master bath with tub. The hotel has a great swimming pool, bar, restaurant, water park and more. It was the off season, and still they had dj at night, everything open, pool was 24 hours, which was nice, we went to culebra island to visit flamenco beach and came back and relaxed all night at the pool. The food was good, but most restaurant besides pool restaurant had to be by reservation, the cafe had food but the night I went in they where close to closing, instead of them telling us this, they still took the order and rushed the burger and gave it to go, it was not fully cooked. Besides that the stay was pleasant, there's a fire pit the turns on at night . Sweet for when you get out of the pool, pool games, basketball court, Hugh chess board, you name it. the other reason for it having 1 star less is for the hidden fees. The hotel room was suposed to be 189 plus tax. Which would have been around 212 per night, but there is a resort fee of 28 dollars, a night plus 15 dollars parking a night and everything had to be charged to the hotel room. It ended up being for 2 night 580 total. The hotel charges on hold 100 dollars a night for a deposit on top of the charges. So we had 780 dollars put of the account and then they returned 160 because they took parking out after. It is expensive to stay here but it's nice.

We are currently at this hotel and I do regret booking. They arent ready to have this place open. So much needs to be done. The cleaning staff arent doing very well. Our toilet has a ring around the toilet. The tiles are dingy. The rugs are not sealed in...looks like it was thrown on. The frames are dirty. Our last night here there was a snake in the hallway. The hallway floor needs to be redone. The pool needs work done. All the black drapes around the hotel make it seem eerie. This place use to be the place to come too. Look I get it. It did suffer a lot of damage due to Maria, however, it's not ready for the public yet. I rated based on my stay and didnt want to give it one star but I expect better.

I was here on in Feb 2019 and actually wasn't staying at the hotel but a condo nearby. I was walking along the coast and came to El Conquistador which looks closed and run down. Everything on the property down by the water was closed and looked abandoned. There was rust on the boats and looked as if one was about to sink. Just sharing so others know what to expect.

Beautiful surroundings and setting. Resort has many amenities and activities for the whole family. Service and staff are not what you would expect from a Waldorf Resort. Long waits at check-in and check-out and hard to get someone on the phone. The staff is reluctant to tell you about any good restaurants off the property. There are great dining options off property for a fraction of the cost (check CitySearch for suggestions). The water park is well maintained and fun. Overall, I do not think we will return because of the poor service.

This place has SO MUCH potential, but without the necessary updates it's not going to get a 5 STAR rating from me.

SO here is what you need to know:

This hotel has many levels. It has a hotel level with shops, restaurants, and a big bar with an arcade and a dance floor where the band/karaoke happens.

There is a mid level that you get to from the funicular. This area is DEAD and the pool is virtually empty all the time. No one goes there as there is no bar, nothing. There is even a platform for sunbathers- but its hot concrete (cover it in grass to make it a point of difference and appealing). The hotel needs to look at this area and how they can improve it to be another destination for guests.

The lower level is the marina. You have to take the funicular all the way down to get here and in the marina you can hit the water park or take the ferry to Palomino Island (that the hotel own).

We stayed in the marina and had a walk out room (1129) a hop, skip and a jump from the water park. LOVE THIS ROOM even though it was a bit dated. This was ideal for us as we have an 8 and 10 year old. It was also right next to where all the boats are docked and a hop skip and a jump from the ferry. The marina has 2 restaurants, a cafe and a shop. If we come again we will stay down here again for sure. We loved it.

WATER PARK:

The water park cost money to go to. Its $22 per adult and $15 per kid. Check your package when you check in.

If you go to the water park after 1:30PM its half price. If you go to the water park at 4PM its $7.

* We would take the 8:30/9AM ferry to Palomino Island and hang there until 1:30 (ferry's come and go every 30 minutes) and then we would head to the water park.

PALOMINO ISLAND:

Fantastic white sandy beach. But clean it up! It won't take much to get the sand raked- its covered in tree leaves, seaweed, etc and it really needs to be raked daily. We loved this Island but we wouldn't go to the far side because it was covered in weed and leaves.

Bring your own giant floats (buy on Amazon) as they are $15 a day to rent. If you ask nicely you can use their pump.

ENTERPRISE RENTAL ON SITE:
Having a car is a great way to explore the island. The only rainforest on US territory is 30 mins away. And old San Juan is definitely worth a visit. Renting a car from Enterprise is a great way to visit these places.
But it takes forever to get your rental from here because ONE person works to do everything- they need more staff at Enterprise. So head up early and expect to wait a while for your car.

Watch the time if you venture out to San Juan for a day. It is normally a 45 min drive. But we got stuck in the commuter traffic when we left Old San Juan at 4:30 - we didn't get back to the hotel until 7pm!

Call the rainforest before leaving to ensure they are open. It was raining hard the day we went and the rainforest was closed - because of the weather. A rainforest closed because of rain....how funny is that?

FUNICULAR:
Its fun for the kids, and its not annoying. It makes the hotel feel separate which is good when you are on a compound. It does need to be updated though as one was shut from time to time 4 days during our stay.

STAFF:

The staff were really good, once you broke the ice. There seems to be something going on at the hotel as no one seems happy though.

RUM:

Ok, so I am calling out rum.....Who doesn't expect Puerto Rican rum when here? They don't have Ginger so they don't serve Dark & Stormies....get with it! We are on an island! And its clear the alcohol is seriously watered down. I was having a few drinks at a time and felt nothing.

SO, all in all, we enjoyed it and we would probably go back. The only issue is the hotel is 1 hour 7 minutes from the airport and there is nothing around it. Farajo is not an area to go out in if you try to leave the hotel so if you come here you are parked for the week you book.

WE LOVED PUERTO RICO as a destination and will come back next year.

We visited Conquistador December of 2019. The hotel was under major construction from the hurricane but that still did not stop us from having a great time. The location and views from the hotel are amazing and having a 4 star resort with minimal capacity was a treat in itself. We spent a lot of time at the pools and with the bartender Alfred... If he is there when you visit, he is the best! I highly recommend this even if it is under construction.

This property is still recovering from Maria. There are massive and extensive renovations underway (about 90% of the resort amenities are closed). Much of the property is dilapidated and in disrepair. The main areas and pools are clean and beautiful. If you are looking for a pristine resort to distract the kids, this is not it (right now, anyways). On the other hand, you get a rare opportunity to stay at a beautiful and expansive resort with almost no other humans around. It makes you feel as if you are in a private billion dollar mansion. Came for one night, ended up staying for 3. A very unique experience indeed. One of the best stays I ve ever had at a hotel.

So the hotel open post Maria. Meaning that some attractions are not available. You can't go to Palomino nor the Water Park. You have access to the main 3 pools. Most the hotel still is in "remodelation" if you don't have a car you can't move far in the hotel. You can feel trapped in some way. Ps. there's only to one restaurant and you can pay for the breakfast buffey.
