Very happy with this firm. We had two new doors from them some years ago and were disappointed when the wood in one of them started rotting. But the GBS were very reasonable (luckily we had taken out a warranty) and they replaced the entire door and frame. They sent their own joiners who fitted the door quickly and with minimum disturbance. Pleasant in the office too. (I understand that the fabricator has been changed since the previous doors were supplied.)

We have just bought a house with their windows in and they are 5 years old and falling apart. We know the previous owners well who gave us the purchase documentation... they were not cheap as were wood alu windows which were supposed to last but the build quality is just simply shocking. Janet the owner reported concerns after 2 years and they would do nothing as the windows hadnt failed. Sadly for the rest of the general public they are still selling this junk trying to pass it off as low energy. We have air and water leaks in windows that are just out of gaurantee. I only wish i could post photos on here to warn others.

Fantastic service, really nice people. The windows and doors for our AECB Silver Standard annexe are great quality. Working with GBS to determine sizes and requirements was a pleasure, as they are patient and always willing to help. After-service is also excellent, even two years after installation they are willing to replace a window that was damaged by another installer (venetian blinds), before the cause was fully clear.

What a fantastic window company. We have just finished a self build project in Hereford and the planning application required us to fit triple glazed grey windows and doors along with a huge front hall window. The builder Owen Developments had no experience in fitting this type of window and door system but to keep within budget we asked him to have a go and fit them. He made an excellent job but we felt they needed adjusting by the Green Building Company after we moved in to get best from them. I telephoned the company and spoke with Emma who was very helpful, nothing was a problem and she arranged for two window engineers to come to our house from Huddersfield within a few days. The two engineers were without doubt the best trades people I have ever had do work me. They were punctual, polite, very clean and efficient workers and did an excellent job, the door and window system is top notch and is way above the usual PVC system fitted to houses. Emma also offered to share the travel costs of the engineers because they had other job in the area. Two things, this is British company that deserves all the credit and they give an excellent after sales service. Dave & Jo

When saying I wanted an independent MVHR Design I was rudely told to take my business elsewhere. It makes the name of the company a bit of a facade. Are they just a sales company?

We have just finished a major house refurbishment. During the whole of it Green Building Store was the best company we dealt with, and indeed probably the best company we have ever dealt with in our life. On the plus side: 1) GREAT products - beautiful triple glazed wooden windows and doors with top of the range thermal properties 2) Highly competitive - the price was less than any comparable product in any material, and in some cases up to 50% less 3) Fitting service was great - we went with their fitters and we would highly recommend this. They turned up on time with everything; fitted the windows expertly; were very knowledgeable and friendly and nothing was too much trouble 4) Customer service second to none - when we were designing the windows we changed our minds several times about window openings, sizes, colours etc etc. None of that was any trouble. The surveyor came out twice (no charge) to make sure everything was how we wanted it. We went to see the firm and the windows twice. We had endless quotes, again no trouble or charge. The fitting went smoothly (see above) and they have had excellent after sales service - One of the doors was sticking; no problem someone was sent out to adjust it. We were then told that this policy lasted for 10 YEARS - anything wrong - call them out. One of the doors got the paint scratched (not their fault - removers). Could they source some paint of the right shade? - no problem. 5) Everyone but everyone at the firm is incredibly helpful and friendly. OK Downsides - errr that would be nothing! I would recommend this firm without hesitation. You might think we are connected with the firm to give so good a review. We are not - this genuinely was our experience.

I have bought an airtight membrane, some tapes & glues, and they have a wide selection of those. I have also used their website to find out more about insulating suspended timber floor, and got some advice from a member of staff (Camilla) over the phone. They seem very knowledgeable.

I have found the Green Building Store to be a fantastic company to do business with. For the best combination of quality, value and performance they are our go to specification for high performance windows and doors. Their MVHR design team's experience is second to none and we would always recommend an MVHR system to them for all our clients requiring one. I have always found the team to be friendly and helpful and they have supported us with expertise and information even when a likely sale is a long way off. I can't recommend them more highly.

Very efficient and supportive throughout the enquiry and quote stage. We bought and installed Performance Windows and MVHR as part of a radical refit, guided by GBS technical consultancy, and the local building team worked easily with GBS. The project has been a success, and after-sales service has been excellent, dealing promptly with queries and occasional on-site snagging.

I have had a number of firms undertake building work at our house over recent times. I have to say that Green Building Store has stood head and shoulders above all of the others. They are very easy to deal with, their products are great and their service second to none. This week I had a slight issue with a door fitted by them 18 months ago. I rang on Wednesday evening, by Thursday I'd had a phone call and an email arranging a time, by Friday morning two of the original fitters were on my premises adjusting the door which had slightly slipped on the hinges over time and needed a relatively minor adjustment. Brilliant service and genuinely good people to work with. Highly recommended. Before you check out replacement windows elsewhere, give these guys a call - you won't regret it.
