I stopped in I had a wobble I'm my rear wheel. Brian took a look and made a few adjustments while I waited. Fixed! Brian also discussed proper fitting, price ranges, and to let him know when I was ready to get into a new bike. I look forward to doing business there soon.

Helped us out in a pinch. Wreck, broken finger, bent derailure, flat tire, and bruised ego on day one of Ohio to erie trail. They got us moving again. Thanks so much. (Update: emergency field repair of derailure hanger got us all the way to Cincinnati. And fingers turned out not to be broken. Thanks again, Gear up velo.)

Was referred to the shop by a relative and am so thankful to have found a shop I proudly support. Was fitted for my bike and my girlfirend's at a later date. Brian could not have been more knowledgeable and our bikes are far more comfortable to ride. We'll both be back soon.

The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Brian was able to fix a complex issue on a high end road bike at a fair price. As this review was written during COVID-19 they made me very comfortable do to their safety first approach to the service visit and retail purchase.

Stopped into Gear Up Velo this week in search for my first bike. I first called and spoke to Kate for 15 minutes over the phone (very helpful explaining the bikes in stock). After going into the shop, Brian was available and provided a very detailed explanation about each of the bikes and their components (spent over an hour answering all of the questions I had), and actually was the first of 4 other bike shop's that asked if I wanted to take the bikes for a test ride.

I felt very welcome here and highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase their first bike, need accessories or service work done.

Brian was an absolute star! I was having trouble fixing a new saddle to my exercise bike, (a bigger one to hold more laundry!), but he was able to put it together in no time at all! Great service! The store has a great vibe - I'll definitely be back to get prepped for next year's Velosano ride :)

Much needed addition to the East side! The new owner Brian is really great about putting new bike owners at ease. He doesn t try to push you into an up sale or make you feel silly for not knowing everything. His wife is up there a lot and they re a great team. It s truly a family owned and operated shop.

A great independent shop with very helpful and knowledgable owners. Love how they restored an historical building with great care and turned it into a comfortable place for people to shop and get our bicycles serviced. Do go there for any biking needs. Brian and Kate are the best in business and they are lovely people too.

Great shop with a wonderful owner. Brian is very knowledgeable. I was only able to find a bike at this shop after trying many others that were sold out for months. The bike works great for me and was put together in a very timely manner. These people know what they re doing and I plan to recommend this shop as well as take my bike here for tuneups and repairs in the future. If you re in the market for a new bike this shop is great!

Today was not my best day to begin with, and I figured my First bike ride of the season would help.
After riding the Towpath I discovered my rear fender rattle was due to a cracked fender. So onThe way home I thought to visit Gear Up Velo, the new version of the Independence Bike Shop. I met Owner Brian, repairman Mike and explained my cracked fender. Brian explained how to remove the unneeded portion, helped to adjust my seat, and zip tied a cable. With one arm no less.
Welcome to the neighborhood GearUp Velo. THANK YOU BRIAN FOR YOUR COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE TODAY..IT MADE MY DAY A BIT BETTER.
Love to support small business.

Stopped in for a quick check for a pair of mtb shoes. Brian was able to help, and had a few styles in my size (No small feat as just about everything biking is sold out this year). Got my new shoes (Scott team mtb) for a fair price and was in/out quickly. New bike shop is many levels above the old one that was there. Good luck, and heal quickly Brian.
