Every coastal city needs a casual but refined fish spot like Hook Fish Co. I say refined because of the freshness of the fish and thoughtful preparation that lets the ingredients shine. Perfect place to finish off a morning at the beach. Grab a seat outside, some tacos, and soak it all in.

If you love delicious fresh fish then Hook Fish Co should be on your list. Fish tacos, ceviche, poke, fish burritos, fish and chips, and various other delicious things to eat and drink in a laid back and thoughtfully designed space with communal indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell beautiful fresh fish by the pound which is not easy to find (think straight off the boat and into your pan/oven) I can't wait to try everything on the menu, everyone around me was commenting on how good there food was. Don't forget to try their house made fresh hot sauce if that's your jam, it's probably the best I have ever tasted - but be warned, it is really spicy!!!

The fish burrito was enormous and delicious. The fish and chips the fish is perfectly battered. This is a very small place with three seats at a counter and one large communal table. There is seating outside too but also limited. You may have to wait a bit but the food is definitely worth it. They also operate as a fish market.

The customer service is great. The food is tasty too, but the flavor came a bit strong for me, however it is worth to try it. We ordered fries and chips, and one burrito and it's was $28 dlls, so be prepared. I would only object that the tables are outside, and while I do want to live the "experience" of their concept, the sun came out and it was uncomfortable eating while the sun is burning your face. It'd be great if they have some umbrellas for the tables outside (which is the majority of them).

Amazing place. I live about a block away and can say that this place is always busy, even during odd hours during the weekdays. However don't let this stop you from going. Try as much as you can as everything is good. My favorites are the fish and chips, fish burrito, poke, and the blackened fish sandwich. Grab a seat outside, your food and beer or wine and experience the Outer Sunset at its finest.

Excellent fish and chips! Had to wait over 45 minutes from online ordering time estimate though. Other people were in the same situation and while the employees apologized profusely it sounds like a recurrent issue with their online system (based on what repeat customers were saying), this the minus 1 star. Would definitely go back and try again though.

YUM. Highly recommend.
I got the Ahi burrito, put the delish orange sauce on every bite. The eating space and line is crowded so the atmosphere was a little loud.

yesterday Friday 10/6 17 about 2.30 in the afternoon my wife and I ordered to go fish tacos and a fish sandwich. The place was busy, but is that an excuse for forgetting to put the fish on my sandwich? Well please be aware there is some great incompetence going on in that small kitchen.

This spot is a bit pricey, but totally worth it. They have amazing poke burritos -- one of my favorite food items in the entire city. The fish is fresh and they tell you exactly where they source the fish from. The people behind the counter are all really nice and this has a great community vibe in the Inner Sunset. Highly recommended, low-key seafood spot

I've been here 3x now in the past month. This is by far the freshest seafood restaurant I've found in SF's Outer Sunset neighborhood. The first time I tried the ceviche I was speechless. The other day I literally ordered a 1/2 lb of the ceviche and that was my dinner. The citrus flavor with peppers and cilantro is absolutely delicious and the squid/calamari/shrimp combo is perfection. I've also tried their rockfish burrito (incredible - but HUGE, I couldn't finish the whole burrito in one sitting) and the rockfish tacos. Every ingredient is fresh (I mean, there are CHUNKS of fresh avocado) and tastes so good together.
I will say you have to order online before arriving at the restaurant. You can't order at the door (at least for now with COVID). Definitely expect the order to take about 25 minutes before it's ready for pickup on a weekday. If you're ordering on a Saturday night, plan for 30-45 and a long line down the block. Just plan ahead because it's 1000% worth it.
