One of the best nights and memories I had since I landed Canada . The best dosa I ever had with a warm welcome, hygiene, and peaceful ambience. I had dinner with my friends and spent 4 hours here gave me the best experience of having dosa with exotic cocktails , desserts and melodious music . Would truly recommend all the Canadians and the tourists to visit the place again and again.
True value for money .
Amazing place, food is impeccable, amazing atmosphere and gives a true feeling of home away from home
I had never tried Dosa before and I was pleasantly surprised. It had a depth of South Indian spice with depth and quality. It was wrapped in what seemed like a Indian pancake with side sauces including a coconut. Overall very good, but I would have liked to try a sampler plate to experience more of the menu.
Perfectly made dosa and chutney. Soothing ambience, great location and really nice service. A complete package. :)
One of the best dining-out experiences I've had in Vancouver. The food is delicious, and the portions, generous. But above that, it's the service that is offered. The hospitality of the manager and of the serving staff exceeds expectations, especially Anu. I arranged for a special birthday dinner for my partner, and the team at the restaurant remembered who we were, addressed us by name, and brought out flowers to make the birthday dinner a real treat. I highly recommend Davie Dosa not just because of the food but also because of the hospitality and level of service.
Super place for genuine southern Indian cuisine. Very tasty and large portions too. Highly recommended!
Great food! It was a great place to share a meal with friends.
Fantastic food, excellent service. Very friendly staff.
Over rated and under staffed! We waited for an hour for food. In the meanwhile , the staff did not even come to tell us the food was going to be late or ask us if we wanted to order more drinks. The food was just ok- nothing to write home about. When the food came, we received no cutlery and had to ask for that too! Sadly, not a good experience. I understand that the restaurant is busy , but at least offer good service to your customers while they wait !
They give everything a sort of funny westernized name in the menu, but the food is good.
Service was wonderful and food was the best South Indian food I ve ever had. Restaurant itself is very nice and clean and I loved the banana leaf plates.
Very small quantities. Sambar is not good, Mango lassie was very diluted/watery.
This is one of the best South Indian restaurant I have ever been. Truly authentic flavor, very welcoming owner and great service. We tried the medu vada and masala dosa, idli chutney, coffee and all were delicious. We had our friends with us who have small kids and the owner made sure they were happy at all time .Was so busy eating that forgot to take pics. Will definitely recommend if you are in Vancouver.
We came at 10pm super hungry & omg the dosa & chutney was the absolute freshest I ve had in town. I ve spent time in South India and this food is the bomb. I say go here if you want Indian in the west end!!!
People are nice, but the food only resembles Indian, it doesn t taste like real Indian food. Naan is way off. Disappointed.
Fabulous, freshly prepared South Indian Food in Vancouver's West End. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Best chai tea and sangria in Vancouver. They also have great, freshly made desserts. Good selection of interesting beers as well.
Nice restaurant with wonderful Authentic South Indian delicacies. I loved the Dosa & the sides (Chutney, sambhar) very much.
I ordered 2 idlies and 2 meda vadas on the previous nite . Found to be horrible the above food items !
The idlies were like 2 rocks and the vadas another 2 rocks !!!!!
Are the reviews genuine or done by kith n kins n friends !!!! I just threw them away after started eating the rocks ! Please don t give false reviews !
I visited this place on the suggestion of a friend and I am immensely glad that the place and the food met our expectation. highly recommended.
Had Dosa's. Amazing place. Sharv made us feel at home. It is a good kid friendly restaurant.
I was craving dosa today and so glad I found this place! They have the best dosa in Vancouver. Everything including the chutneys and sambhar was amazing!
The service was really good.
Tasty, authentic South Indian food. Awesome customer service. Staff at the restaurant were great.
This is one amazing place to have most authentic dosa.. absolutely loved it.. and the hospitality and service was too good.
Excellent southern Indian food in the heart of town. Great customer service and friendly staff. A must try...
Service is great, but dosas are quite ordinary.
Dosa flavor & crispiness were not up to the mark compared to most (average) south Indian places.
Sambhar was rather ordinary, so was masala.
My first time having a dosa... loved every bite!!! Lovely chat with owner and fabulous serving staff made for a very personable visit. If you are looking for a taste experience that is really delectable, this is your place. Reasonably priced and I will definitely be back! We were missing dosas after our cruise and Alaska tour. This place fulfilled our longing for dosas. It was very tasty and the people were good. Very good service.
The food was good especially the Idlis. Anusha provided a great customer service.
Get the Masala dosa with potato on the side instead of inside. If you like spicy ask for green chillies mixed into the potatoes. You're welcome. Enjoy.
I am fairly new to the west end. I just recently acquired a job in the area. I walk past this place every day several times so I gave it a try for some birthday appys and a couple beers. The food was fabulous as well as the service. Small restaurant with a big heart. This is a place I will be visiting on a regular basis.
The best place to have Indian food in Vancouver !!! Its sooo delicious, I'm from Chennai and I love Dosa. This restaurant has the best south Indian Dosas. Their sambar and chutney gives me the chills and reminds me of Saravana Bhavan in Chennai. Good work team ! Keep it up
Rich, savoury and delicious, can anyone want anything else? I don t think so. This is the place to go for South Indian food in Vancouver.
Good ambience ... service was 100% also the hotel manager gave us 35% discount
Chefs blended my food according to the level of spiciness
Manchurian and lovely dosa
Thanks so much
The vada is too garlicky.. Ateast for my tasting .. the dosa's itself are good.. but I have been here a few times and the dosa's have been a hit or a miss.. sometimes they are really good.. and sometimes they have been just ok..
The Gulab Jamun were cold.. so that's not the best experience
Taste it and then you will come to know about it... Its soo Special.. The staff were so respectful and Friendly... The chef Prepares Food very well ( Chef: Leveil ) And Makes you special dishes on your interest. Best South Indian Food in Vancouver I have ever tasted...!!
Food is delicious, not so spicy, not so mild. Ordered veg biryani and cheakpease curry which comes with dosa and rice. It would be good if they have free sambhar with dosa! I am editing the review. The owner was so nice, during my second visit, he offered free sambhar. Since we are new to the city, he gave guidance about different scenic areas. I will go there again. Today is my 4th time eating here in last 10 days!! Music is Soo calm and good.
Amazing food. We got a couple of Dosas and they were really tasty. Definitely going back
The chicken Sosa is amazing. The sambal is best I've had in Vancouver. The chicken curry tastes exactly like the kind my mom makes back home in Scarborough. I hope you guys stick around for a while!
Nice Dosa,Donut and Chai in Vancouver I ever tried. Very nice place in Westend, Vancouver.
Great place. Their podi dosa was amazing, one of the best I have had in Vancouver. Sharaf was such a nice host, so happily took pictures for us. :D
I am highly disappointed with the staff working for this company.
Food was so amazing i was having a great time as I was having a long day at work.
But all my tastebuds were murdered because of your loving server who dont even understand what basic customer service is maybe he dont even know how to treat a normal human being.
Honestly I never loose my patience but he was so rude to me like hes doing a favour or something .
I would love to give you guys 5 stars if you train your servers with a customer service training .
Hope you will take this seriously but your food is seriously good keep up good work . Cheers
We came in last night with my partner for late dinner. Service was great but most importantly the food was amazing. Me and my partner are big fans of southern indian food and we can tell this place offers the real deal.
We are happy for having them on the West End. We shall be back!
Dosa was so delicious and customer service was also excellent. We are planning to have our partiesi from here onwards. I come here often from Surrey to have this best delicious meal from Davie Dosa Company. I recommend to all my friends and families come and try so that you know what you are missing.
Service is great, however the portion is a bit small
Good flavour and enough for me, that I couldn't finish. Hate when I go somewhere and am still hungry after.
Chef and owner Saravanan sources fresh local and seasonal ingredients and adds a personal touch to his menu. I m definitely coming back and bringing my friends.
I went to Davie Dosa co. with my friends when we were coming from college. Me and my friends enjoyed a lot there and had a good conversation with Sharv the owner of the restaurant while waiting for my order and they served food with great smile.
Butter chicken dosa and Biryani was so delicious and all time my favourite Mango Lassi.
The ambience of restaurant and staff is so cool.
Thanks guys(chef: samy) for serving delicious food, i am gonna save this place in my fav. places.
worst food i ever had. uncooked food, very very less quantity. Please never ever order from this restaurant
Authentic taste of South Indian food. As someone originally from South India with a lot of exposure to the food throughout my life, I found myself quite enjoying the dosa ad Davie Dosa. The owner and staff are very hospital and friendly, and the ambience and music on the day I visited were very calming and added to my experience.
Best south Indian food I had in Canada. Price is reasonable and staff is really nice. The ambience is simple and old, food is really good.
Amazing Customer Service, Clean and healthy food , Staff is polite and knows how to take care of the customers ..Great Price And Highly Recommended.
Everything we ordered was way too salty. The concept of a la cart is different. If you order curry, it will be served with small bowl of rice and appam (uthappam without veggies on top). There was no chutney for the appam. Flat bread or roti have to be ordered separately. The servings are small and not enough for 1 person who is really hungry or whose diet is good. Not impressed. Two stars are for the service.
Best food on Davie. Large of portions of tasty food. Yum. Great ambience and the waiters are amazing. Desert was excellent.
Our dinner was so good. We had Masala Dosa, Lamb Biryani, Butter Chicken, Parota and Raita. Honestly some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Excellent service too! Highly recommended.
Tucked away little gem of an Indian cuisine restuarant. Good food and good service. Displays lovely artworks from local Vancouverite artist like Joy Pierson.
Thank you Davie Dosa Co for very nice food and service. It was my first time trying dosa and it was very delicious (I had eggplant added). We had two different meat curries, also tasty. Planning to return to try more stuff.
We were two students from Ontario visiting Vancouver for the first time. We were fortunate enough to find this place which serves amazing south Indian food! I went back three times to eat their 'Rasam' and 'Dosa' within a span of ten days. The owner is a really friendly person and offered great service to us. I absolutely love this place. MUST TRY if you love Indian food as well as some authentic spicy dishes. In my opinion, the only reason why this place might get a few bad ratings is because of how AWESOME they are! and not everyone appreciated it. Thank you Davie Dosa for making our trip memorable!
Amazing food and staff. Hope they keep this up consistently.
Good price, delicious food and great service and smiles from the staff. Would highly recommend and go back!
Great food and great service! Will definitely visit again!
I go to Davie Dosa quite often to cure my South Indian food cravings. Most of the time their food has been good, although when it gets busy their service gets slow and food quality goes slightly down. I like the variety of dosas they have.
Best dosa place in whole canada.I live in ontario and I visisted vancuover for 10 days, came to this place 4 times during that period. The owner is really humble and always keeps a smile on his place.10/10,would definitely recommend.
Their dosa is amazing. I've eaten here I don't know how many times and every single time it's just fantastic. I can't recommend it enough. It's a great people watching spot. Especially if you're lucky enough to catch a spot by the window.
Nice and clean place, humble staff and delicious food
Opening the Uber Eats delivered package it looked small in portion, but I thought the food maybe good so quantity can be less. Half cooked thick rubbery paratha with overcooked beef and chicken curry (previously frozen?) was not something expected from a vancouver restaurant. Maybe they good for their Dosa, but why would you sell something if you are not good at, or why would you serve food that is not cooked fresh.
The server was nice. The food was ok. It took a while for our food. The ambiance was nice but overall I would say the experience was meh.
The best dosa ever had, even the curries and biryanis are super delicious. A must try restaurant for vegan people as all the dosas are Vegan
Dine in Lights were too dim . Dosas were delicious, no doubt. Customer service was good. Overall it was great time. I would like to visit again.
Best food in town! Like Butter chicken from this place a lot! Feel like home whenever I visit this place.
Excellent food! Fantastic service, highly recommend! I would post photos of the food but I ate every last bite before I thought of taking photos
Wow, best Indian food experience. Thank you so much to chef Leveil for cooking with love.
Best Indian restaurant in Canada so far with great food' service'. Location and ambience Highly recommended.
We recently had lunch there with family. We were served rotten chutney and uncooked medhu bada. We notified staff about rotten chutney. No apologies from staff other than removing it from plate. Even otherwise I didn t like dosa and Sambhar. Also serving size especially that of sambhar was very small for the price. I am never going there again.
Update: owner hurting himself by leaving unapologetic response. It s clear from other reviews as well that other people are having bad experiences recently.
Great food and ambience in restaurant. Staff was nice and down to earth. We had a friendly conversation with the restaurant owner before we left.
Got to try various dishes during a tasting and they were all quite good. This was my first time trying a Dosa and it was light and crispy. The owner was very attentive and friendly. Will come back once the pandemic is over!
This place is very very nice to eat specially dishes at this place are delicious.
Best pistachio kulfi in the town. They make it fresh and homemade.
