I am a lifelong Detroiter and this is my second time ever coming to the Riverfront. The first time was about 5 years ago and they have enhanced it so much! It is amazing. So much seating and the views are breathtaking. Also an amazing place to walk, jog, ride a bike, walk a dog, etc. Highly, highly recommend.

A beautiful place to spend an afternoon. The Detroit Riverfront that is close to the Renaissance Center includes places to sit, areas for fishing, a playground, a huge sandbox, a fountain/ water play area for little ones, a carrousel, a docking area ( where the homeschool prom boat left), a big public restroom, a restaurant, and a nature preserve area...ah, it also has a "little public library" which is cute (I took a Times magazines from there, and I will put some magazines in another LPL around my area).
It is a clean, we'll run place with vitality and diversity. There are moms with strollers and children playing, while runners and cyclers mingle with people listening to music or eating.
When in Detroit make a point to visit this area.
