The best watch buying experience in Edinburgh!!

As always, Chris and Gemma gave outstanding service, my experience wasn t rushed and am delighted with my purchase.

In the current climate, the showroom felt very safe without negativity effecting the buying experience which is a hard balance to crack, well done to all involved.

We went into the Edinburgh branch on Friday 25th January to buy a beautiful sapphire ring for my birthday. The ring needed altering and we were informed that it would take two weeks to do so.
Unfortunately a week later my husband was made redundant. I contacted the company to request a full refund under the circumstances as we had not received the ring.
I received more than one extremely unsympathetic response to say that we would not be given a refund but the best they could do was a credit over five years!!! Utterly disgraceful. I explained that we needed the money due to the circumstances and any ring can be altered so it wasn t second hand. We had received no proof that the ring we had bought was brand new so they were taking full advantage of our bad situation.
They say they are not obligated to do a refund which means that they can. They choose not to. Shameful behaviour!

Due to the pandemic, all graduation plans for the University of Edinburgh were cancelled. With the world on pause and us miles away in the US, my husband and I dreamt up away to create a positive lasting memory for our daughter. We found a beautiful diamond solitaire necklace online and contacted Chisholm Hunter on Princes Street. James was wonderful and helped us at every step of the process. He even played along with our treasure hunt, doing a great job at presenting the gift and making our daughter feel special. She had a fantastic experience and James really made her day. Highly recommend Chisholm Hunter and James! (I would also like to thank Lorraine for helping with communications.)

I don t normally write a review but in this case I have to my partner and myself ordered
A couple of items from the Gyle branch after a few problems with miscommunications we were
In Princess Street so went to the branch to see if they could help, where we met Chris,
He was amazing an asset to Chisholm Hunter, he helped us with our problem even
taking the time to phone us on his day off we can not thank him enough for all his help
And the way he handled our problem we would recommend the Princess Street branch
and look forward to dealing with Chris in the future

Don t bother wasting your time here. My partner and I scheduled an appointment after recently getting engaged and the older man assisting us could have cared less that we wanted to purchase an engagement ring.

Couldn t tell you his name because he didn t bother to introduce himself or even ask ours. Went over and had a great experience with Brodie over at Fraser Heart and bought a ring that day.

No other staff interacted with us so I can t speak on behalf of them. Take you money and time elsewhere.

As a lover of watches I heard this place has a good amount of stock. I looked in the window and this was true they had a lot. So I went in and one the staff members named John came over as he noticed my tattoos and was excited to talk to me about them. We talked about it for about 10 minutes without ever mentioning a watch. After said time he asked if I wanted to try anything? And the next hour and a half was fantastic he let me hold and try on anywatch I liked even tho I said from the start I wasn't here to buy and never once became pushy. Other members of the team got me and my wife a beer and wine for free. Another team member let me try on his own watch as it's hard to get hold off. By the end they thanked me and gave me a bunch of hardback catalogues also for free. I would definitely recommend any watch lover to come here for a chat or to buy. Best shopping experience I've ever received.

Deliberately unhelpful and made to feel like an idiot. I must have interrupted a big gossip chat when I entered the shop approaching staff for help with a last minute earing gift I had in mind. I explained I was looking for something perhaps gold and/or black to which I was met with a short no, we ve got nothing like that follow by a blank stare by the bearded gentleman. You looked annoyed that I had even bothered you and you made me feel horrible. I won t be recommending you and as a nurse trying to organise the last of Christmas I would have hoped for better service. Leaning on the glass counter chatting has really let the company you work for down.

I've been into the store 3 times in total. The first time I went in I didnt really recieved a warm welcome and I was made to feel 'not good enough' to be in the store. I was out to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend and I ended up going to Laings and recieved excellent service and bought a better ring for less money there.

The second time I went in was earlier this week and I had a great chat with a member of staff about a few watches I had my eye on. He took the time to speak to me, made me feel welcome and he was very knowledgeable about watches in general. He was a credit to the company with excellent customer service skills. I'm not sure what his name was but he was probably in his 20s and had long dark hair.

Later in the week I had a very good hour long appointment at Laings where I was put on a waiting list for a rolex. I left Laings and made my way to Chisholm Hunter for a booked appointment with every intention to buy the watch I had my heart set on. From the moment I walked in the store I didnt feel very welcome. I felt more of a nuisance despite having a booked appointment and the showroom being otherwise empty. The salesperson just did not seem interested when showing me the watch which is the complete opposite vibe I got from other watch stores. I decided to just leave the store without buying the watch.

I ended up walking to Fraser Hart and I bought a Tudor from them after a great experience with their team.

Went in to buy an engagement ring, I was served by a young man (I didn t catch his name). He was arrogant and thought he had all the information under the sun but actually his knowledge wasn t as good as he thought. I didn t purchase the ring. I went to a different branch at the Gyle one day after work as I had previously been in to look at a ring with Bethany but told her I was going to shop around.
I went back to the Gyle after work and purchased the original ring as she had a better attitude and knowledge than the over confident man in Princess Street.
