Old fashion place with old fashion customer service. We are from out of town and were looking for a restaurant for Friday night Steak Night Date Night. Cattlemans brand was highly reviewed and listed as a must see.
We arrived around 7pm and had about an hour wait. When you check in, the area of the restaurant you see gives off a nice ambiance, and given that we had never been there we expected the entire place to be the same. However, when we were seated it was in a diner style section of the restaurant. Definitely much different than the nicer, more "date night" style side. The rest of the experience continued to be below expectations and reviews. I went and spoke with Cody, the manager on duty, and he was genuinely apologetic for our experience. He wanted the opportunity to make it right. My wife and I agreed to come back the following evening for a do-over. That experience was exactly what was reviewed. Our waitress (Beer) was exceptional. She knew her menu and made recommendations based on personal preferences. She was appropriately attentive and lightly conversational. Cody ensured that our dining experience was what should be expected at Cattlemans. In an age where customer service is becoming less about the customer and more about the business, Cody excelled in providing the old fashion service that Cattlemans was built on. We easily could have left with a completely negative impression on Friday night, but due to Cody's customer focused approach we would definitely recommend this place. Just request which side of the restaurant you want to sit in, and ask for no paprika on your salad!

Good steakHouse... I have top sirloin and it was great.
The food was bearable but not worth the high cost and the portions were not impressive in the least. The salad was pathetic and the steak was poorly seasoned. All in all I was not impressed with this establishment.
I have to tell you, over the past few years I have visited your establishment 5 times, all times i ordered a ribeye medium rare. I have, not once, ever gotten a good steak from your cooks. The steaks were way over-priced for a mediocre steak. Always tough and hard to chew.
Also, steaks weren't even seasoned. Had to use a steak sauce to make it better. When I complained, I was told that's the way they are.
I find your restaurant bad and your food mediocre. When complained, it went on deaf ears. You lie in your commercials. I will not spend any more of my hard earned money with your restaurant. I can cook a better steak at home from Walmart!

We had two of your T-Bone steaks, was the worst steaks we ever ate.
We have ate before here and was good but this time we were very unhappy.
steaks were very tough. salad looked like it was wilted. not sure we will be back. Besides for two people $80.00 plus and not worth it.
i should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt.
Chicken fried steak too salty, meat doesn't seems cheap... Steak salad needs work.. lettuce and a tomato doesn't make a salad... steak on salad was good though...
Had better steaks at Charlie's in Fargo. Better at Geicomos McAlister. Better at Warehouse Willys Potoue ok. Best at my house.
The signature T-bone steak was underwhelming in both taste and texture. The filet side was very tender, but the strip was somewhat chewy for medium rare. The thickness (actually thinness) was a bit surprising as it looked nothing like what was pictured on the menu. In my opinion it wasn't worth the $31.25 cost. My wife enjoyed her burger, and we both think their house salad dressing is one of the best. Service was really good.
It's rated top 10 in the country for a reason. Had the Presidential T-bone. It was juicy, tender and flavorful. Would recommend their Chateau Souverain Merlot to accompany your steak. Super friendly and engaging staff.
Overcooked steak, under cooked chicken fried steak and really slow service. Been here a few times, today was the worse
Awesome service great food average steak chef salad
I love this place, from the atmosphere, the staff, and the food it is amazing every time I eat here. I strongly recommend that you enjoy the pleasure this place offers.
Great service, friendly staff. I had minor problem with my meal, and they did way more then any other place I've been to; to make it right and me happy. Great experience.
Great steak. Ambiance is more causal than the food an price may imply. Upscale steaks, low scale dress.
I've been here twice now. Great steak for sure, and while not cheap, it's a good value. Far better than the chain restaurants, and has a cool atmosphere/history. Server also hooked up a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream because I told him we were celebrating my graduation from culinary school. Tyson I believe was his name, great great service. Thank you to Tyson and Cattlemen's
Heard so many great things about this place but we were sadly disappointed. Yes we had to wait but we did not have a problem with that. The lady that took us to our table nevere said a word to us , placed the menu on the tables. Never smiled. Went and got our napkin and silverware and placed it on table. Again never a single word. We waited about 10 minutes to get something to drink. Made our order. Salad very plain lettuce and 1 cherry tomatoe. The dressing was very good. Home made croutons were not so good. Then our steaks come out around 40 minutes later. Mine I ordered medium rare and it came out rare and had to be sent back. My son ordered medium and it came out well done. So his went back. By the time we received our meals my husband was almost done. Then it seemed like forever to get the check. Our waiter asked if we needed anything else and we told him the check. He walked by twice before coming to the table and stating oh sorry wrong ticket. Then 5 minutes later we get the ticket. Then he stood behind us waiting for the money. 3 meals no appetizers, 1 weak tea, equaled $100.00 plus. So not worth it. We won't ever go back. Also did not appear very clean. Floors were awful.
Nothing to complain about. I'll return with my coworkers. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
OMG - outstanding meal!!! You gotta try this place!!! It is epic!!!
The steak flavoring was pretty good. The house salad dressing was our favorite part. They should make the dinner rolls a little less dry. Not a bad price overall.
Great steak and service at this diner. Ok beer selection, no tab. Could get really busy at dinner time.
We had dinner and next day breakfast here. Everything was fast and delicious! Service great. Robert was really great and helpful. I highly recommend this place
Cattleman s was recommended to us by so many people and I was unfortunately disappointed. The steak was a good cut and had good flavor but could ve been cooked a little longer. The mashed potatoes and gravy taste like instant products and the Mac and cheese was bland and the noodles soggy. The only reason this review is getting three stars is because the service was excellent.
i should have took a photo of the food but it was too good to interrupt. i look forward to going back again. if it wasn't far from my work i would come by more.
Finally got to try Cattlemen s, and it did not disappoint! I ve heard many a great thing, and I was excited to try it because I m quite picky about steak made outside our home.
We got there maybe around 7:30ish? They quoted us a 30 minute wait and it only took about 15, which was great. We were seated on the cafe side which we were slightly disappointed about because we were hoping for the ambience of the actually restaurant. We didn t have reservations, though, so it was understandable. Our server, Ken, was very friendly. He s been working there for 25 years!
The food took a really short time to come out! Maybe 10-15 minutes or so? Yeast rolls are brought out to accompany your meal. They immediately have you cut through your steak to make sure it s cooked to your liking. It looked maybe a little too medium for me but I accepted it because it wasn t too bad. It also came with a baked potato, which we asked to be loaded and extra sour cream and they brought out a TON, which was perfect for a sour cream lover like me. We ordered a side of mac n cheese (which I m also picky about in restaurants) and goodness, it was so good. I couldn t stop eating it. It had melted cheese and breadcrumbs on top and it was perfectly creamy underneath. Yum!
To the steak! Oh my gosh. It was incredible! Like I said, I m really picky when it comes to steaks in a restaurant but this was amazing. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavour throughout the whole cut. Use your rolls to wipe up the au jus, and it s just perfect. We were too full for dessert, but I ve heard that s amazing as well.
Another +10 bonus: the table next to us had a steak that wasn t cooked to their liking and the staff brought out another one free of charge. At the end of the meal, they had the first one bagged up and sent it home with them since it was their mistake that it wasn t cooked properly. I LOVE when restaurants do this because otherwise it s a waste of food, and we need less of that in the world. Plus, it just shows good professionalism and customer service. Great job, Cattlemen s!
Edit: We were looking over our receipt, and I had ordered a Talisker neat. We didn t noticed when we paid, but they charged us $1.50 EXTRA for ordering it neat. Never have I seen this been done, and that is a ridiculous extra charge. -10 point for that, Cattlemen s.
I eat here VERY often and never had a bad meal, its always good food, but the in store experience has been steadily getting worse.
The staff has always been accommodating with my phone orders, but the environment is incredibly unprofessional at the counter.
The last couple times ive been in, much of the waitstaff just slouches around swearing, talking loud and act as if there are not customers there. It seems like a high drama workplace, and as a customer i dont care for this.
Today, one of the workers infant children is being held behind the counter, on the counter, and being passed around. It just seems to be less and less professional each time im there.
This is an iconic restaurant, and never in my life did i think id give this place a bad review.
Smarten up and act a little more professional please, it was bad enough today that i most likely wont be back, and im here 2-3 time a week doing business.
This is a culture and management problem.
I wouldnt never tolerate this as a business owner.
2 stars because the food is that good- 1 star wouldnt be fair.
We were seated right away with a friendly hostess, in a great spacious booth with a group of five. Our server was Belle and she was very pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. She was extremely accommodating to each of our particular needs. Our food was very good as well. Overall our dining experience was superb. I enjoyed our dinner and will definitely dine here again.
Good food, not superb, but good. Sometimes the wait for seating is long. Looks a little tired. Part of the draw is being able to say you've eaten there.
Food always great, waitress & the person that seated us, very nice & made us feel at home. Well worth the drive.
Loved the peppered steak and rolls, friendly service and good atmosphere, prices are pretty good for a steakhouse
Cattlemen s is all the hype. The wait may be long and the entrees more expensive than Texas Roadhouse, but that s because it s better. I could damn near cut my filet with my fork. Service is great and the drinks were phenomenal. Recommend to everyone.
The steak is amazing!
Our waiter Derrick was amazing!
The atmosphere is amazing!
Hamburger was ok fries were gross. Wait staff was good. Did not offer to discount my lunch at all. My fries were ice cold
Excellent! I always make a "Happy Face" clean plate...absolutely nothing left!
Very good food and old fashioned good service at a reasonable price.
Our party had 10 people in it. Seating was quick as well as the service but it all unraveled from there. The chicken fry's were pale, undercooked and bland.
The dinner steak sirloin was more like eating the cow hide rather than the flesh although it was cooked perfectly. The chicken breast was small, thin and way overcooked. The hamburger steaks were great though! Our waitress forgot our sauteed mushrooms but that's not a big deal. But to top all this off, one guest had hair in her salad. The meals we prepare at home are much better! I haven't been to Cattlemen's in about 20 years, now I remember why. I won't be back.
Great steaks very juicy, and great service friendly staff
This has been my favorite restaurant for 60 years. It was a delight to find it still as good as my memories when we moved back to Oklahoma 15 years ago.
I took my family there today 2-3-2018 and it is as good as they say it is. My wife had the club sandwich and asked if they would grill it for her and it was not a problem. Cuz had a burger and loved it, my son had the grilled ham and cheese and said he loved it. And I started with the lamb fries and they were fantastic. Then I had a medium rare ribeye and sauteed mushrooms that was cooked to perfection. Even the house salad dressing is Great. Probably the best Steakhouse I've ever been to.
Will go there any time i visit Oklahoma city.
Went here a couple years ago and it was all around amazing. Just went today, and it seems like they're really letting the place go. Staff didn't seem to care about customers much, in fact the hostess sat us at a dirty table with a half empty cup on it, pulled the cup to the edge of the table and said "the waiter will get it". Like, why not just take it. Or, you know, seat us at an already clean table. Hell, I would've been fine with her cleaning that table before seating us there, but the table was never cleaned. Other than that, the general customers there were pretty obnoxious, but what can you expect when the staff doesn't care. The steak I had was still great, although trimmed poorly. For the price, I shouldn't have to trim my own steak. Probably won't be coming back, seeing how the place is already headed downhill.
Honestly my favorite evening place. Certainly worth a return visit.
Super awesome first experience!!! Awesome staff especially James Delheimer!! Will ask for him again!!!
The best steakhouse in the world. Love, love, love it.
First time ever being here, so delicious!!! Best steak ever!!!
Steak cooked to perfection, best meal I've had in ages. Dinner steak, medium rare.
It's part of History, nice, clean, the sever, we had, was great too. We enjoyed it..
Just check it out for yourself. .
Very disappointed. Needed a saw to cut a $30.00 steak.
Always a great ribeye with good service. I have been eating here for over 30 years.
Now this is a Steak House! Learned about it on TV, where else to go in Oklahoma City on a road trip stopover. Very fast, efficient and delicious. I'll repeat what the waitress said when I asked what the Blue Plate Special was, "The bast dang rib eye you'll ever have", and she was right. Sue had the Filet. Both steaks of course cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious. Very large place lots of seating but fills up very quickly at the dinner bell. Go early.
Prime rib was good salad was wilted tasted old. Wait staff was not very good disappointed for price doubt ill come back
Server Tommy was outstanding! Food superb! Steak & eggs cooked perfect & steak was very juicy.
Great breakfast and lots of it. Steaks are the best.
This place did not disappoint! The food was good. The service was superb - thanks, Tom! The old school atmosphere was charming. We arrived late (almost closing) and still had a great experience without being rushed.
Great steak, beer and service. Glad I came with friends and family on my trip down here to OKC!
The quality of the food, in terms of taste and quantity was marginal at best. I don't believe it lived up to the hype. It was not the worst steak I've ever enjoyed. However, it was far from the best.
Absolutely yummy!! Steak was prepared perfectly. The shrimp was huge and was flavored very well. Rodney was the best server ever.
Great steaks, delicious house dressing, crispy croutons, tasty rolls, and yummy pies. Worth the wait....
We took our mother there for her 75th birthday and withe staff was great! Service was fantastic! Steak was best I have ever had. Thank you for making tonight a big success!
Service was very good! Great steak and delicious rolls. But don't order the mashed potatoes, they have a very odd taste.
I had a hit and miss experience in the week I went to this restaurant twice. The first time the steak was excellent bursting with flavor, but the second time the steak was rather bland. The service was excellent tho!
Service was fast & friendly. (Thanks Michelle!) Salad was a little over dressed & I personally wouldn't order the house salad dressing again. The beef (strip steak) was fantastic. Tender, juicy, & perfectly cooked to medium rare. My only recommended improvement would have been too sear the outside of the steak slightly more for a better crust, but I'm nitpicking. Overall highly recommended.
Food was amazing I had left overs and had them the next day and my steak was still juicy. The staff was amazing as well. Couldnt find one single flaw.
The best ribeye steak ever! Ask for Robert for a waiter, he is the best! Lamb fries are delicious! Monday is a good time to go, no wait.
Not bad, but for the price it has to be better than that. Went in wanting a nice thick juicy rib eye, they brought me a miniature steak. Good flavor and marbling but again too small. I had my steak cooked rare, I don't want to imagine what a well done steak will look like after shrinking. A bit disappointed. For the price range I was expecting something like Morton's. Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris, but even Longhorns seems even better.
Their steaks are fantastic and the service is great. This is a popular place for a reason. I gave it four starts because, as good as it is, it was pricey.
Excellent food and service. We had a large group and everyone left happy
Was quality steak but a little overcooked. My wife got the chicken fried steak and it was not good. If you are going here just stick with the steak. My 2 year old son didn't really like the kids meal but whatever kids are picky lol. The manager did give us a refund on the chicken fried steak and a free dessert. As for the building it was warm inside and really dated they have a nice front door but when the put the new door in they didn't take the old one out so you have a weird double door which is super inconvenient. You also have to wait outside in the weather.
The service and food are always good. Sam the waitress is great!
Vere vere good i wood love to go back this is my second time there
Morgan is a great server never allowing our tea and water glasses to go empty. The luncheon steak is tender and the salad with the house dressing was cold and crisp. Get there before 11:30 to avoid a wait although usually short.
Amazing steak, wonderful history, loved the house dressing. Our waiter was fun, helpful, and made my first visit one I will never forget!
Well worth the 1 hour wait!!! The potato skins were awesome and had a ton of cheese 9n them. The only thing that disappointed me was the side salad. It was just a bowl of lettuce with one cherry tomato on it. The croutons were awesome though!! Will definitely be back!!
Steaks were great! Not much of a meat eater anymore but the husband had to try it. Got the petite cut filet and it was just right. Tender and juicy with no marbling.
We always eat there after working cattle all day and they have an exceptional staff. The food was all delicious and even the kids food was great.
Service great. debbie thanks. food .meat grainy not much flavor.ok
Been around forever, food is always great, in the must see stockyards
Great food for a great price. The filet was tender and cooked just right.
The Presidential tbone is as good as they say it is
Some of the best steak around. Great service as well. I myself prefer a regular steak instead of the pepper steak but still delicious either way. You can't go wrong!
Great stake and friendly staff. Local craft beer was delicious and lamb fries where actually tastey.
The food here lived up to its reputation. I had the ribeye amd it was tender and delicious. Other memebers of our party had the chiken fried steak and the sapmon all reported deliciousness.
The staff was great, we never had to ask for refills or anything and the food came out quick and hot.
The service was outstanding, the food w as s amazing, and free deserts for anniversary and birthday. Triple d was spot on.
