I was there last week twice Monday and again Thursday,on Thursday we ate The food was great, reasonably priced music was also very good and the real bonus was we got to see Buddy and take pictures and chat it was Great....
Laid back local spot a few blocks away from the intensity of the downtown core. Matt Hendricks gave a quality performance, and the chicken jambalaya was spicy yet satisfying. Huit/dix (Please note: an automatic 18% gratuity is added for groups of 5 or more people)
Came as a group and they wouldn't let us move any tables together. When it started to get late, they asked us to pay a sizeable cover or we would have to leave. They are totally within their right to do that, but I am also within my right to be annoyed by it. The waitress was unfriendly, the drinks ...
Loved the atmosphere and history! Live music was great, friendly staff. I had the red white and blu chicken sandwich and it was amazing! Definitely recommend!
Corn bread. Jambalaya. Beer. Live music that is free early. Cover charge for second group starting at 830pm. No rush to clear tables. No pressure on patrons to leave to get more people in. Sit with friends. Enjoy the music and the food. I visited twice in 3 days while in Chicago. Two thumbs up.
I know this place is touristy but I still like it. You will never be disappointed at the quality of music you will find here. I love that they put together bands on the spot made up for people that have never met one another before. If you are not careful you can run up quite the drink bill here but...
BBQ ribs were quite good. But of course, the best part was the music later in the evening. Dinner at 7:30, main act started at 9:30-10 pm and then Buddy Guy walks up on stage around 11:15 to close out the first set! Great evening!
I was not there for the music so that might make the whole experience better. I was with a large group so we had a buffet for dinner and what I did have was delicious but there was not a lot of variety.
It may depend on the day of the week, but the main concert will need to be charged from 8:00. Until then, the undercard live starts at 7 o'clock. I started early, but the live performance of the undercard was also high enough and I was very satisfied.
Very nice place, incredible musicians. There is a 10$ fee to enter the place. We arrived an hour before the show started to make sure we would have a place, because we did not buy our tickets online. Alcohol is cheaper than other bars we visited. We stayed there until 1am. Place was packed. Good mem...
Aptly named, Chicago's own musical legend does a juke joint Chicago style. The menu is just so down home and bluesy, the big room atmosphere makes you feel like home, and the art + unique memorabilia is fascinating. One of the coolest joints in Chicago! And those January Buddy Guy shows are unforget...
Absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere of the club is contagious...the band(s) had/ has the high energy which draws the crowd in. Loved it. Fantabulous time, would definitely recommend
Without a doubt, Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago is the premier Blues Club in the world. A heavy boast, but where else will you see the man himself hopping onstage with the evening's band, belt out a few numbers and share a few fascinating stories of his storied career ??? The club features a who's w...
Love, love, love it here! Chicago is known for its blues history so it's only appropriate that Buddy Guy's is a city landmark that always packs in the fun. There haven't been much if any renovations to this location so it definitely shows its age and wear and tear. You can't anticipate a swanky blue...
I was totally blown away! Had the privilege of seeing Nora Jean...amazing! Music beyond words...the food was first rate as well! Can't wait to go back...long way from the UK !
I was told this is the place for R&B. Went looked up and read about Mr. GUY. I SEE HE'S A LOUISIANAN. AM FROM SHREVEPORT MOVED TO CHICAGO JULY 5 I WILL GET TO BUDDY GUY'S VERY SOON SAVE A DANCE FOR ME
Found by chance with warm-up act Eric Hendricks showing off several guitar styles ... Finger picking, strumming chords, more. A great depth of awareness of the history of his craft. Sadly no CD of his performance available
The main act was Jimmy Johnson. All I can say is: to he left the house ...
Passionate about music and blues ... don't forget to visit this magical place. If you are also lucky enough to pass by Mr. Buddy Guy ... it may be the night of your life. We arrived without expecting to see him and we found him flushing at just over twenty spectators chanting and shouting "Oh, yeah ...
The best of the blues await you in this fuss-free, soulful hotspot. We were thoroughly entertained by the talented lineup of musicians, and we enjoyed the night while snacking on amazing soul food. We were also lucky enough to see a performance by the living legend himself, Buddy Guy. Whether you're...
This is a must destination for visitors and locals. The food is good and the entertainment is superb. Plenty of friendly people. The only down side is it is popular and can get packed at times so if you want a seat for some of the top entertainment get there early. They are as accommodating as what ...
Go for the show, not the food! The food was horribly disgusting. I should have sent it back. I ordered the gumbo, and it tasted like a can of tomato abc soup. No lie, it tasted like a can of tomato soup mixed with frozen vegetables. I lived in Louisiana for some time, so I know what gumbo is su...
Got there 2 hours before the show. Standing room only. We were told we could eat upstairs and come back down and pick a place in a cordoned off area to stand. Upstairs is a bleak, sparse depressing place. We felt like unwanted guests at a party. Food was just ok. Mediocre fries, ok burgers, ove...
Great place, better music but terrible service... Rude waiters. I would recomend any other blues bar (there are tons here in chicago). Save yourself from a overpriced cover and bad service
