Bittersweetpastry

I ve been coming here off and on for years and always had great pastries and service. Today I stopped in for my usual ham and cheese croissant (they re delicious!) and happened to see what I thought was a coffee cake and asked the clerk about it. He explained in detail what the cake actually was and I said it sounded delicious. As I m paying for my croissant, his coworker comes over with the mini version of the cake and adds it to my bag to take home! It was just this kind of extra that keeps me coming back. By the way, the Sour Cherry Clafoutis was AMAZING!!!

Everything I've had at Bittersweet has been a wonderful bit of decadence. You can't go wrong with their perfect hot chocolate, delightful cupcakes, or outstanding pastries. My favorite is their pecan roll. It's a massive beast of flakey delight. And I don't even care for pecans! The next time you need a sweet treat or a morning pick me up, shop local and support this bakery.

Lemon tarte was good. The shop was very busy during Easter holiday.Got a hot cross bun.

Our two young kids surprised us with this delicious Anniversary cake! They must have received excellent help from the staff as they arranged it and delivery all on their own (and a little help from out of town Grandma!) Cake was so delicious! Just the right amount of frosting and not too sweet! Decorated perfectly and packaged with care. In fact, our daughter had requested her next birthday cake be from Bittersweet! Expect a call in September...if not sooner!

So, I didn't actually go to the shop, but for a super reasonable price, I had 2 cakes and 6 cupcakes delivered for my birthday. I knew nothing about this place except I saw a review somewhere. Glad I took a chance, everything was amazing.

The German chocolate was dense and delicious. Even those who don't like coconut will love it as it is very light in flavour but you do get a fair bit of the texture. It is heavy and rich and the smallest easily would feed 8-10 or more. I had a piece 4 days later, popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it was perfect.

The Malted Chocolate cake was the complete opposite. It was light and airy and disappeared quickly. This one won't fill you up, but will definitely satisfy. The little eggs on top were a big surprise, not what I thought they'd be.

Red Velvet cupcakes were great to. The cream cheese frosting was one of the better ones I've had. Don't wait to eat them, they don't hold up to time as well as the cake does. With everything else I forgot they were there for 3-4 days, but they were still really good.

Can't wait to go try more at the store!

Why even bother making a carrot cake if you're not going to use cream cheese frosting? The cake was beautiful, but come on.

This place was fantastic. I recently ordered a Gluten Free cake from here. I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. You have to place the order 10 days in advance, but they honored my request, and made my cake within 8 days. The presentation of the cake was phenomenal. You won t be disappointed. Everyone loved the cake, and said it was delicious. They have a lot of other tasty treats there as well. If you re looking for a neighborhood bakery, look no further than Bittersweet. The staff was also very friendly, and extremely helpful. I will definitely return here in the near future for my baking needs.

Just picked up a coconut cake for my mother s birthday. I ordered online 2 days before and it was ready on time.
It was a hit!!
Everyone loved it! The cake was so smooth and moist.

I plan on ordering from them again.

We order bread from here every couple of weeks, slice it up, and freeze it for daily use. It's fantastic. I love their baguettes and sourdough load. I also got a fancy cake for an occasion and it came out amazingly well. Highly recommend.

I really like this place. I've got a couple of croissants and Brioche. Delicious! So yummy and fresh.. We were happy with their quality of the bakery products. Highly recommend!
