Their food options and the quality of their food is outstanding, but I had one of the most disappointing experiences tonight from the wildly incompetent service. Asked the waitress if our order was correct 3 times. She said yes each time. Yet when our check came when we decided to leave, she clearly had placed the wrong order, leaving everyone hungry, feeling cheated, and upset.

I arrived with a group of 5 at around 5:30pm, excited for their fondue after having heard many great things. We asked for an order of the classic cheese fondue for 5, which is $58. The waitress brought out the pot with a relatively small amount of fondue for the size of our group. For reference, a smaller piece of bread that was brought out with the fondue was only covered by half when fully placed in. I asked her if she could check and make sure our order was correct. She insisted it was and that it should be more than enough for four... even though we're a group of 5... Ok... As expected, we'd finished all of the fondue quickly since there was so little of it (and it was admittedly delicious). We asked her if we had to pay the full $58 for a second pot of fondue and she said yes. I again asked her if the amount of fondue was correct. She again insisted yes, and added that they overestimate for the serving size and it should've filled 6 people... yet all 5 of us were still hungry... After our group debated whether or not to buy a second pot or to leave, we gave her a third chance by asking her again if she could please check and ensure the amount we got was correct for $58. She again said yes. Since we were feeling ripped off, we asked for our checks. On our checks, she had very clearly put in an order of Classic Cheese Fondue for 3. FOR 3 PEOPLE. At least it was only about $38 total for the entire group. I generally don't even bother writing negative reviews, but wow, what a trip this was.

I'm not asking for this waitress to be fired, but talk some sense into her or at least teach her to count to 5. We'd clearly stated many times that we were a group of 5 and that we were willing and expecting to pay at least $58. Yet our checks/the order she put into the kitchen clearly said for 3 which totaled to be about $38 for the fondue. I would've only given a single star, but the food was absolutely delicious so it gets a second.

Y'all already know this place is BOMB. The staff is so friendly and in house wine is great. Brunch on Sundays is sooo good. The lunch option is real decent. The French onion soup served at dinner time is to DIE FOR. literally the food here is so good. They also have a bakery (not opened Sundays) and the Swiss bread and baguettes are perfect.

Love this place at all times of day. Breakfast sandwiches are great, as well as quiches. Lunch sandwiches are creative and delicious, and dinner atmosphere is always warm and the food is amazing (getting a fondue to split is a classic). You can't beat their Sunday brunch crepes, omelettes, or quiche.

We come here for brunch every Sunday. The food is amazing and the staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. I don't know why I haven't reviewed them before, but I just had the potato pancake special with two sunnyside-up eggs and bernaise sauce and found myself asking for toast to soak up the bernaise and egg, then asking for more bernaise to dip the remaining toast in, and finally drinking the remaining bernaise when I ran out of toast...so I had to write a review.

A hidden gem in Urbana, within walking distance from the UIUC campus. Daily lunches. Freshly made to order hot and cold sandwiches and salads. Serves a half and half a la Panera bread style. Several different aioli. The brie burger is fantastic. Prices are moderate but not cheap. Deceptively large with a two floor space in the back. A must visit.

Possibly the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. I came during the day and could not find any parking. I figured my motorcycle wouldn't take up too much space so I left it in the loading zone and ran inside to grab a sandwich. They saw my predicament and offered to bring my food out to me so I could wait on my bike and avoid a parking violation from the very aggressive U of I parking police. The sandwich was great as well and came with a tasty side salad. I highly encourage everyone to try this place out.

Sure, you could get Jimmy Johns. You could thoughtlessly give in to your basest, most vile instincts. You could continue down the dank, shadowy path of self-defeat on which you have set yourself to walking, dark-eyed, alone and sad, these long years. Just go right on ahead and plaster your insides with cheap mess, if that's what you think you deserve.

The atmosphere is both somehow hip and homey. I find the food comforting, and I've not ordered anything yet that I've not liked. The staff is as warm as the cozy gas fireplace in the corner, and as a bonus you can have a beer with lunch if you're so inclined. The two factors that keep this Urbana gem of a restaurant from getting the 5th star are the scary seating in the back room, and the price. If the prices were slightly lower a 5th star would be forthcoming.

The bread comany carries well it's name, the bread there is fantastic.
It has a European inspired menu, with the popular swiss fondue that I highly recommend! There lunch combos with salad/soup and half sandwich are reasonably prices and tasty. It is a great experience in aquaint and comfortable ambiance.

Besides the food poisoning review I don't really understand the critical reviews here. My experience has been with lunch and 2 things stand out to me. 1) These are some of the best tasting sandwiches I have ever had and it being coupled with a salad is awesome. 2). I had a house salad here that I can easily say was one of the best salads I've ever eaten. They could be charging much more in a city for the quality of food they provide. You get what you pay for.

Very cozy and right in the heart of the beautiful UIUC campus. We went as a group of five and ordered pastas, pizza, and a veggie platter. The server was extremely gracious and our food was ready in no time. We loved everything! Very tasty and healthy too. The taste of water was amazing as well.

We are definitely coming back!

Place that is known for its Fondue and Deserts - The Bread Company!
We ordered the Classic Cheese Fondue - the dish contains White Wine as mentioned on the menu, but later got to know that it is cooked in White Wine as the taste of fondue was initially dominated by wine but it got better with time and more heat. It was served with fresh bread and potatoes which on their own tasted great. Overall enjoyed the Fondue experience. We also ordered the Capri Salad and Spinach Pesto Pasta - both the dishes tasted decent and the portions served were less for the price. Otherwise, the ambience of this place is really welcoming and romantic, overlooking a less busy street of Urbana. Looking forward to visit next time especially to try their entrees and desserts.

I took my Special Lady here for a Romantic Date. We shared a large pot of Original Cheese Fondue. It was *awesome*. The ambiance was just right for the evening (we were able to get a table in a corner). The candle on the table just added a perfect touch. We had a wonderful time, and I would highly recommend this place. I am sure we will be back!

The place is really nice and cozy. We had a fondue, which we hadn't eaten in a long time. It was very good and not too expensive, although a little bit lacking in terms of the variety of food they give you to dip in the cheese. The waitress was a bit sloppy, but her recommendations in terms of what to order and the amounts were great.
I would have liked to try the raclette, but was set back a bit beacuse they don't serve it with meats, which I think usually come in a raclette.
We didn't buy any bread or pastries, but they looked delicious, much better than those you can usually get here. Will definitely come back for them.
