This resort is absolutely gorgeous. We we're here for a work event of mine, we were upgraded by the hotel to a suite and it was gorgeous, amazing view, the room had all the amenities and it all felt luxurious. Had a wonderful time. Would definitely choose it again if we were back.

Stayed here after we were evacuated after a fire in our condo building. Accidently left our kobo e reader behind in the room and called back within 30 minutes after check out to retrieve it... unfortunately it was too late as a stafd member had already found it.

Although our fault, we are certain it was left behind and just disappointed that it wasnt rightfully returned.

Played golf, everything top notch. On course service, shack at 10, pro shop & the guys setting up the bags and carts all excellent. I just don't like what they've done to the Mountain Course. They've taken holes away and shortened many others. Also too many houses crowding the course. This is no longer the course that Nicklaus (Steve) built.

The golf is simply awesome. The views are stunning and the staff is great. We got a great deal through the club that we play at in Edmonton so it was affordable, but otherwise it would be an expensive round of golf. That said, if you can afford it I would recommend giving it a try

This resort is definitely a golfer's paradise. With the first class courses, you can't beat it. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds comfortable. However, if you are not a golfer, they were less than informative with directions and help to do other activities. They do have a recreational centre, with a pool.
They also lacked any type of store within the resort to buy any type of item one would need for an extended stay; ie. A quick snack, headache medication, bandages, paperback books, etc. There was nothing.
As well, there was a total lack of vegetarian options for food. Attempted to get a light snack for lunch at a takeout window in the hotel and the only vegetarian option was a veggie sandwich.
I opted to 'go green' and did not have the room cleaned or anything replaced in the room for the 2 nights I was there. I was not offered a voucher to compensate, as advertised. And on top of the very expensive daily room charges, there was an additional $25+tax per night charge. Not quite certain what that was for.
On the other hand, the Sante Spa was exceptional.

The stay was magical as it started snowing when we got there. The room coffee was horrific but the coffee shop came to the rescue. The Shaw system was extremely frustrating to deal with but the bed was extremely comfortable. The Front desk people were amazing as well.

Not what you would expect from a high end hotel good size room good bathroom but let down by house keeping and poor reception if the hotel provides coffee making facilities you would expect milk to be replaced each day and used cups and plates to be taken away but not here had to contact reception twice about this I also wrote my name in the dust on the coffee table and even though I had been to the front desk four times during my stay it wasn't until I was checking out that I was told I had a fifty dollar credit for use in the restaurants that the company I had booked through had given me not much use when you had had breakfast and had a ferry to catch

While I do appreciate the beautiful surrounding, the friendly staff, the super comfortable bedding, and the free room upgrade, I was disappointed with the stay. We first found the microwave oven in the room was dirty. It was obviously not cleaned. It still had food splatter inside. I called the front desk and was offered another microwave. I turned down the offer because of covid and just cleaned the microwave on our own. Later in the evening, because the hotel pool and hot tub were closed due to covid, i decided to take a bath in my room after a long day of travel. The wall of the tub was grimy and gross. And other small things in the room are just not up to standard. The nightstand was dusty. The alarm clock's time was off. I wonder what else was not cleaned. We were upgraded to a room with a view, but I'd rather staying in a clean room then getting upgraded to a dirty room. This is Westin Bear Mountain Resort, not a motel off a highway. The condition of the room is just not acceptable especially during covid.

What an absolutely fabulous hotel. It's quite a pretty drive up the mountain and hidden, but that just adds to the luxurious experience. The rooms are fantastic: large with exceptional amenities. The food options are also great. Would definitely recommend Jack's for food. Overall wonderful experience. The hotel staff were very accommodating and polite. This is the best hotel in Victoria!

You may find mixed levels of service here. As a local I've been many times for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the service is excellent, other times it's a little slow. I've never had a bad experience, but given the upscale image, there is room to improve to truly achieve upscale levels of Service. Mostly though I think you will like it. It's easy to be casual and not feel out of place. If you're dressed up you will generally receive better service

Usually I have enjoyed going to bear mountain but today while trying to turn around in their parking lot a valet driver blocked me in and started harassing me on how I couldn t parked where I was trying to turn around but I couldn t drive out as he was blocking the one way for me to get out of the parking lot. I wasn t even in park or even out of my vehicle, next time their valet should wait until one is out of their vehicle to inform them of their hot spots and expensive parking stalls

We had breakfast in the restaurant on boxing day. The service was a bit slow, possibly due to the holidays and employees being off however the food was great and the views even better. Prices are a bit steep but that is to be expected at a hotel. We will be back again.

January 2018 Update**

We enjoyed the Friday Night Flights wine tasting in Victoria's only wine cellar, followed by dinner upstairs in the Bella restaurant. Amazing service, great food, and extraordinary atmosphere.

The sommelier was kind in his approach when educating about the wine and was very engaging with stories and backgrounds of the various wine, their vineyards, and the winemakers. The wine tasting was priced well considering the value of the event being put on. The tasting can be done as a stand alone event or can be followed up with dinner at the Bella restaurant.

We followed up with dinner and were thoroughly impressed. The food was amazing and the service was top notch.

After having had wine before and during dinner the hotel offered to shuttle us home, (we live local). When we got home we realized we had forgotten a purse at the restaurant. Without being asked the shuttle driver returned to the hotel and drove back to our house, hand delivering the purse to us at our door.

I can't say enough about the Friday Night Flights and the quality of service we received all night long. Easily one of the best dates ever.

My wife and I decided to use my free night credit that I get awarded as a Titanium Elite Member for staying 75 nights in a year. I am away for work a lot so a night away from the kids was what we were looking forward to. My credit card was charged for the room deposit, it took about three-four calls to the hotel to convey this fact. The hotel then charged my card again instead of issuing a credit. Another few phone calls and a trip to the hotel to get both deposits back. A terrible customer experience, for a Westin property it is hard to believe. No offer of a credit or compensation for all my wasted time. I will never stay at this property again. If you are undecided about where to stay the Delta or Marriott downtown offer so much more.
