Athol Public Library

When an item I borrowed from the Athol Public Library was lost during the Covid shutdown, I was assisted by Marie at that library. This woman is a saint! She was extremely helpful and took extra steps to ensure I was treated fairly-- and she even commended me for my conscientiousness! Sartre said, "Hell is other people," but I like to add that "Heaven is other other people"-- and Marie at the Athol P.L. is one of those other other people.

The newly refurbished and expanded Athol Public Library is a wonderful place to come, play, read, and share. I was there today with my (almost) 3 year old grandchildren and spent an hour playing with trains, the play kitchen and then did puzzles while their Grandmother picked out some new books and a DVD for us. Clean, bright and staffed by helpful energetic librarians. A truly wonderful facility. The Millers river park in the back is also a great place for the kids to run around and enjoy in nice weather. As an Athol taxpayer I am pleased and proud our investment turned out so well.

I am so proud to have such an excellent library in our town! The addition and renovation are absolutely gorgeous. The views from the main library to the Millers River Park are extraordinary. It is a particularly "green library" as well, having earned the first ever LEEDS Platinum Certification for a public library. I enjoy the new art display room, as well, and the exhibits there are always interesting and change each month. As beautiful as the library is with its natural light and lovely woodwork, the greatest strength is in its staff. They are always warm, friendly, and eager to help, whether it is finding books and magazines, ordering something from the interlibrary loan, locating a video for rental (from an extensive collection), or answering a question. In addition, they plan, offer, and host the most exciting and fascinating programs for both children and adults. The Athol Public Library has become a real focal point for our community and one of our town's greatest assets, and I am very proud to offer it my highest recommendation.

It was recently redone beautifully with a seperate section for kids. I also really enjoy doing homework here thanks to the free WiFi.

This library is such a great resource for our community. The staff is incredibly helpful. I'd live in there if I could!
