Just got released I was in A wing with Ms. Rose hands down best counselor you ll need for your treatment her methods get you back to the person u once was before the Devil took over. Great place food is good but could be better. Gain my weight back for sure tho. Overall it s the place you wanna be.
One of the better detoxs in upstate ny. Good food. Guys & girls sections. Staff is one of the most experienced with area resources. Very caring institution
I helped a family member get admitted here. I had a good experience with the employees until I encountered a worker who picks up the phone when you call the main number on the website. I was not familiar with protocol but I wanted to check to see if my family member arrived safely. This employee was rude, short and lacked empathy for a family member who was hurting. She went so far as to say that the reason she was short and frustrated with me was because I was asking questions she had already answered. Then proceeded to tell me not to call again. I am a strong believer that all people should be treated with dignity and respect and I did not get that from this individual. I will be calling the individuals supervisor in hope that someone addresses this with her becuase if this is how she speaks to a hurting family member how does she treat the residents there. I truly hope they provide this worker with interpersonal human relation skills training.
Staff is generally compassionate, caring, and genuinely want to help the clients get better. Overall there are few 28 day programs that are better or more motivating to clients helping them get on their way recovery!
I was at arms acres in 1999 I was actually sent there for weed believe it or not by my probation officer. That was my first stint in the rehab, and I didn't want to be there nor did I want to stop smoking. I remember telling myself as if it was yesterday that when you're ready you're ready, and if and when I was ever ready arms acres would be the place that I got sober and the last spot in my story before my sobriety began. Here it is over 20 years later and I'm ready. I'll be calling them tomorrow at 8:30 and hopefully a bed will be available. Prayers everybody. One last thing I forgot to mention is a lot of these comments people are upset because there's no acupuncture equine therapy or this or that or the other thing hello you're in a rehab unbelievable mankind will be the death of us all....
It is what you make it to be. The groups: Some excellent facilitators and some not good at all. The participant shares is what I connected to. The counselors: There is little privacy when talking to counselors. Doors are opened, constant interruptions by staff & residents which the counselors don't deter. For me, I was very proactive in reaching out to their recovery coaches, and participated in every group possible, reached out to my counselor and even other counselors with concerns / recovering from a relapse / what else is available to avoid another relapse.
Arms Acres is great ...staff is wonderful I loved the meetings... my counselors and nurses were respectful and done a great job...I'm back on track and with my family doing good !! Thank GOD and arms acres for putting me back on the right track you guys rock !!
Well first off. I was amazed on how much free time we had to do nothing in there. Second my counselor Stephanie didn't seem to want to even be there. I got more help from the guy counselor that I wasn't assigned. Third I was drove home and I sent my glasses by my bag in the van and knew the exact place I left them. Well I forgot them in the van. I called security and the transportation company and they said nothing was turned in. So either the driver stole or Ams Achers is incompetent. This place had to much drama and the poor Milues were being run into the ground.
Definitely a much more pleasent experience than what most of the previous reviews claim. For the treatment this location is designed to treat they do a great job. There are slight inconsistencies when it comes to specific staff members when it comes to running groups and ensuring that said groups run smoothly. However for the most part this is not an issue. Some clients do stir the pot and can be a nuisance but it is important to remember that you are there for your recovery, so when it comes to those few oddballs it is best to tune them out as best as you can so that you may benefit from the program.
Arms acres is the BEST facility I've EVER experienced..
The staff is great and they really care about the individual!!
I would recommend Arms acres for anyone looking to get clean and sober..
