Shocking!! paid the price for them to rip us off, still to this day I haven't had a email or letter saying they have no insurance and can't carry the work out, email after email phone call after phone call and no answer.

If you are considering shopping around for building control whilst having works carried out at home I would think carefully before using Aedis. Their website is full of impressive statements about rigorous site inspections and although the work was signed off for my project I had no communication from them at all throughout or no feedback about their inspections. It turns out that now I have an issue with my roof I was shocked to find out they couldn't check the roof (a statutory check) at the time however did not make me aware at any point before signing off the certificate. Now that I have an issue with my roof I have asked for a phone call from a Senior Manager and no calls have been made. I have asked for a copy of the inspections however these do not exist.
It seems to me you pay for an inspection for peace of mind however when things go wrong they relinquish all responsibility and are not happy to address it with you.

We used Aedis for building regs.

Our new workshop has been built nearly a year now and still nothing from Aedis. As it stands right now, we would have been better off donating the money to charity.

As for customer service; probably the worst I've experienced, they are impossible to get hold of over phone, they don't return calls.

Terrible experience, look elsewhere if possible.

They can't get insurance renewal for their inspectors.
They do not answer phone calls or respond to emails.

If I could leave Zero stars, I would. One of their surveyors signed of a City Centre development in Manchester, a conversion of former offices into flats and studios and over 3 years later the Building is still not finished. The outer envelope needs to be removed and was never finished anyway. The Building has been in 'interim measures' from the Manchester Fire Service since 2017, the Building has internal leaks and the Building is unsafe.

When I got a 'Regional Manager' to attend the site, he admitted it should never have been signed off, however, instead of assisting me or putting pressure on the Contractor, they attempted to change the certificate with the Manchester City Council. Disgusting and unprofessional behaviour and 3 years later we are still counting the cost.

Really poor customer service, can't even get themselves insured to carry out what they do. Don't know how they can continue to advertise as Building Inspection service when they can't inspect.

They did some work for a property of ours a year ago and still haven't sent the certificate. They don't answer their phone over multiple working days (office or mobile), they don't respond to emails, and they've still not sent the certificate they were meant to send months ago after chasing over the last few weeks. Would absolutely avoid them.

Overpriced and no common sense at all. Totally unhelpful. Won't be using them again.
