It takes too long to find or to sell a home—10 weeks on average to search for a home to buy and 12 weeks to sell a home. AI can improve this but seller-focused property websites and Multiple Listing Service (MLS’s) have no incentive or ability to change. Zillow does not want to disrupt $750M of ad revenues and the 850 MLS’s are agent-only tools and each organization does not have the ability, funds and scale to introduce AI.
Buyers and Sellers will continue to suffer if this status quo is not broken.
