Recommended wrong equipment, double charged me.
Needed a SMF OTDR tester for a client. Wasn't sure what I needed. Sales Engineer had me talk to a Senior Application Engineer, who apparently talked to his lab personnel. They shipped the Fluke tester with all the equipment, I took equipment to the client site, created network diagrams which took a couple of days, went to use the equipment, Senior Application Engineer said he would have Lab Tech call me. They did and said I had the wrong equipment. Called my Sales Engineer, who hustled and got me the right equipment ready, drove 3.5 hours to TRS, then 3.5 hours back, and was able to start testing the next day.
Got charged $1200 for the equipment I never used that was the wrong equipment, and instead of keeping it for a month, turned it in after a week. Sales Engineer was great. Sr. Application Engineer didn't ask the right questions and I got the wrong equipment. I got the impression its a business policy and the loser is the customer if you get the wrong equipment. $1200 lesson. Too many companies renting equipment, won't be back.
