A Once-Loved Brand That Has Lost Its Way
I have been a loyal Papinelle customer for many years and have purchased a significant number of garments from the brand. Unfortunately, my last two orders have been extremely disappointing.
Over the past few years, I have noticed a decline in the quality of some of Papinelle’s products, but my most recent purchases have confirmed that this is becoming a real issue.
Firstly, the sizing has clearly changed. Items I ordered in my usual size no longer fit as previous purchases did, so the sizing is no longer consistent or true to what I have come to expect from the brand.
Secondly, I purchased several Papinelle women’s underpants for the first time, and every pair separated from the waistband. Some came apart the very first time I wore them, making them unfit for purpose.
I also received a pair of pyjama boxer shorts that were of extremely poor quality. The crotch seam was noticeably misaligned, and one leg was significantly longer than the other, making it obvious that the garment had not been manufactured or quality-checked properly.
What made this experience even more disappointing was the lack of customer service. I contacted Papinelle by email regarding these issues due to their returns system options being limited. After receiving no response, I sent my email a second time. I still never received a reply. I was left with faulty garments that I had paid a considerable amount of money for. While some of the items had been purchased on sale, many were not, and regardless of the purchase price, faulty products should be addressed.
As a long-term customer, I expected much better quality and, at the very least, the courtesy of a response. Instead, I was left feeling that my concerns were ignored and that my money had been wasted.
Sadly, after many years of supporting Papinelle, I will not be purchasing from them again. I will also be sharing my experience with family and friends so they can make an informed decision before buying from the brand.
