DO NOT RENT OR JOIN THEIR BOAT CLUB. MEMBERSHIP AS THEY WILL BREACH CONTRACT AND NOT HONOR CLUB MEMBERSHIP RESERVATIONS!
Our experience with Pirates Cove Marina has been extremely disappointing. We joined based on the Membership Agreement we signed on July 3, 2026, expecting to receive the benefits clearly outlined in the contract.
Exhibit A – Membership Plan Options states that the Bronze Membership includes “2 TIMES PER MONTH, FULL DAY.” However, after joining, we were told Bronze members are limited to one weekend reservation per month and that the second monthly use must be obtained through a last minute reservation process. After reviewing the agreement, we could not find any language supporting these restrictions.
Article III, Section 12 – Reservations outlines Week Day, Week End, and Last Minute Reservations, but it does not state that Bronze members must use the last minute process for their second monthly use or that only one weekend reservation is allowed per month.
Additionally, Article III, Section 12(f) states that a member may not have more than one Week End Reservation “at a time.” This limits simultaneous reservations, not the total number of weekend reservations permitted in a month. We had no active weekend reservation, yet we were still denied the second monthly use included in our membership.
Article VI, Section 23 – Entire Agreement states that the Membership Agreement and exhibits represent the complete agreement between the parties. Any internal policies or restrictions not included in the signed agreement should not override the terms provided to members.
After we questioned these practices and pointed out what we believe to be a breach of the written agreement, Pirates Cove Marina began attempting to charge us for additional items and services we never agreed to. We were invited to the marina to learn about the boat club. We did not request a separate paid rental or agree to a full-price boat outing outside of our membership.
A membership should be based on transparency and honoring the written terms customers agreed to. Adding restrictions after the fact and attempting to charge customers for services they did not authorize is unacceptable.
We have requested cancellation of our membership and a refund of fees paid. We hope Pirates Cove Marina chooses to resolve this matter fairly and ensures their membership terms are accurately represented to customers.
