Very nice place to spend a nice family time. The little ones have a good time, it has specific areas of reptiles, cats, birds, farm animals among others distributed in sectors (Africa, Asia, America, etc.). It has ample parking and restaurants within the zoo.

I absolutely loved this zoo and can say it is among the best I've visited. I have visited the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, the Racine Zoo in Wisconsin, the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC and
the Detroit Zoo in Michigan before visiting La Aurora Zoo in Guatemala. What I really loved about this Zoo is the great balance between nature and animal exhibits it has. I felt like I was in a real forest and some of the places where so inviting that I felt like throwing a blanket on the ground to have a picnic with my family. Wish I had more pictures to share but I mainly took video. Strongly recommended if you are in or near the City of Guatemala.

The Aurora Zoo is a real treat. It is extremely well maintained, has an immense variety of animals and given the climate, the vegetation is abundant and somewhat simulates the natural habitat of "homeowners". We spent two hours touring and time flew by. The public facilities are also in very good condition. Perfect to come with the family.
I'm not sure if I have already shared my experience in this zoo. I'm from El Salvador and in my country we do NOT have a decent zoo unfortunately, so when I visited Aurora Zoo, I was amazed. I love how everything is designed and decorated. How close you can see the different kind of animals. There are places where you can find food, souvenirs and other activities like feeding giraffes. I loved Guatemala and Aurora Zoo!

La aurora zoo is one of Guatemala's know hidden gem. Family friendly environment. Lots of amazing animals to see. Plenty of restaurants to pick from inside. I recommend taking a hat on sunny days.
