Purchased a brand new home 4 years ago in the Charlotte NC area and have had nothing but problems with the Septic Pump which is a Zoeller Product P/N: 267-0002 not sure about other Septic Pumps but the one I have is either a bad one or the company just puts out a poor product. Really limited support when calling in. I will be spreading the word TO OTHER web sites on the very POOR quality of my particular PUMP.

We have been using Zoeller pumps at our Los Angeles apartment building in the Hollywood foothills for over 40 years for the below grade pits. They are very reliable. Recently there was an issue with one that had gone bad, and Alex D at Zoeller was excellent to communicate with and went out of the way to keep a long term customer happy. We will continue to use these reliable pumps in the future.

I would have otherwise give high ratings as I've purchased several Zoeller pumps in past and always had great results with the quality of the pump. However, Zoeller needs to correct their product packaging issues. The first unit arrived with hole in the box, packed weight around 45lbs, via UPS. Upon inspection, the damage which appears to be from shipping, had broken the bottom of the pump, check-valve assembly, float switch and sensor units. At 45 lbs, the packaging is not aquidte for Fedex or Ups to kick down the block to your front door. After several emails and phone calls and bunch of photos; Sump Pump direct decided to issue an RMA and a refund, less the re-stocking fee (which they corrected upon another call request). I gave them a second chance and asked for Delivery Signature on the second unit. So at this point, I'm front paying $2K for pumps (the damaged unit, and the yet to be shipped replacement). Second unit arrives and the same hole in the box in the same location. With the UPS guys waiting for a signature, I inspected the parts to find the exact same broken parts due to shipping along with a few packaging staples that were shot through the batter backup housing. I refused the shipment and notified Sump Pump Direct for yet another refund which, still waiting to be refunded for both pumps.

The issue in my opinion is poor packaging not capable of withstanding traditional shipping methods. The box is 45lbs, packed completely full and stuffed with medium density foam so when it's dropped or bounced, the pre-assembled parts (PVC discharge assembly and attachments) simply snap.

Zoeller, if you are paying attention, send the pumps unassembled from the discharge assembly and consider sending this in two smaller packages, primary pump and secondary backup. It takes no time at all to screw in a discharge assembly during install but it just takes one dropped package to break the unit and deal with an RMA.

I would suggest to consumers that you seriously consider purchasing from another company. So far the product doesn't isn't that bad. However, their warranty is lousy. I purchased a product with an obvious manufacturing defect that Zoeller agreed. They replaced the part. But I had to pay for the labor to have it replaced. The original purchase and installation cost me $2000. Then for faulty manufacturing I had to pay additional charges to get a functioning toilet. I think for a $2000 toilet, I shouldn't have anymore expenses.

Bought a Zoeller Quick Jon 202 Grinder Tank from Zoeller. 9 months later the pump went out. (inside the 1 year warranty). Zoeller will have nothing to do with replacing it. Had to buy another one for $527.00. The rep. (Ryan), said first it was the check valve then it was the venting, blah, blah. 2 independent plumbers said the installation was perfect. Sent 2 e-mail to the public relations person and got no reply at all. Advise: don't trust their warranty.

Supposedly has a 3 year warranty, but since I had it installed by Ayers Basement Systems it only has a one warranty. The pump failed after 2 years. Warranty is useless, just plan on buying a new pump when it fails
