Zilt aan Zee Review

Delicious lunch, in a relaxed beach atmosphere with friendly staff. Who needs Ibiza if you have Zilt? A pleasant surprise every time!

IJmuiden may not have the most famous beach, or be too much of a tourist attraction, but Zilt did definitely lift my spirits :) Classy beachfront restaurant, and while the menu may offer a limited choice, the quality is excellent. Sit down here, look at the setting sun, and have your tastebuds entertained.

After a long day on the beach my girlfriend and I had some thirst and wanted to have a drink from the sun. This is a nice place for it. We only took something to drink, but I saw some food passing by and that looked pretty good. Nicely decorated and you can sit.

Staff regularly forget to take the correct order. And to pay, you often have to wait a long time. Advice: pay immediately if you get something. Outdoor cushions are subdued by the birds. Nasty.

Friendly staff, bitter garnish was fine. Many places that are reserved at 4 o'clock and where you can not sit.

Terrible service and rude staff even by Dutch standards

When my girlfriend was not feeling well due to the heat, we had to eat small snacks because the main course came right after the starter. Not friendly service, the carpaccio was warm. And absolutely not worth 130 euros!

Hip beach bar right on the entrance to the swimming / walking beach. Nice coffee, hot chocolate, etc and homemade apple pie and brownies, plenty of choice. Water for the dogs, wood fire in front of the door and shelter on the terrace and all that during quarantine! Nice

The goat cheese salad was really good: plenty on ingredients and they serve it with french fries or bread on your choice.

Fine location and sharp service especially the manager, minus point = if there are fries at a menu for 2 you get only for 1 person hence ***

Really liked the food & drinks. Service was good. Small problem with the birds using the outside lounge seating area as their bathroom; but still a great place to relax with friends and family.

High prices, questions about ingredients in the food are answered poorly (simple question whether meat stock was used for the soup). The second time I asked for something the waitress would check and then she wouldn't come back, then I just paid someone else and left.

Pleasant atmosphere, especially in the evening on the terrace. The drinks are well mixed and the prices are really okay. Unfortunately, I did not eat there, but what I saw at other people looked good

Real beach tent! both in and outside. Meets expectations of beach events. Busy, somewhat rushed staff, but quite cozy.

Today we walked from Parnassia to IJmuiden along the sea and you and Zilt aan Zee had lunch on the terrace. Good transport pavilion with smooth, friendly service. The veal croquettes on delicious brown bread and crispy fries tasted delicious.

Very cozy place, nice service, tasty food.
When the owner saw me walking on crouches, she told us that next time they can open a parking gate for us, so that I can come by car to the entrace od the restaurant.

After a walk on the beach it is wonderful to relax at Zilt.

I was sent away because I was feeding my baby. I was asked if I wanted to do this elsewhere because this was offensive. Horrible! I felt so bad and put aside! How horrible that breastfeeding is such a taboo ...! Furthermore, the food was expensive compared to what you got.

Lovely sitting in this nice cozy beach tent. Staff were neat, enthusiastic and friendly. In the afternoon we had a delicious lunch and after a day at the beach we went back for dinner.

Tasty hot chocolate to go bought, but unfortunately 1 for a toilet visit. Tip: peeing is fine in the dunes!

Had a baby shower, was fun and good food .. for those who are not pregnant anyway.
Find it strange that you have a baby shower there (decorated by them and informed about the shower) and that they serve sandwiches with carpaccio, tuna salad and cheese during the picnic lunch. In other words, pregnant can only eat a cheese sandwich if it has already been pasteurized .. and we don't know.

Yoghert eaten with banana, blueberry & homemade granola. 4 pieces of banana, 1 strawberry, 5 blueberries, and 2 teaspoons of granola. Who made that granola themselves? Yes scooped out of a pack yourself. This for 5.25. Too sad to put in so little fruit. And it is still high season berries.
The staff are friendly and served quickly. Unfortunately no lounge sofas in the wind only behind glass. Maybe just go to Zandvoort to see how things should really be done. !!!!!

The food still lacked some flavor. Furthermore, a nice place to have a drink, nice view to the sea.

We had made a reservation but unfortunately our place was already taken while we were on time. Then have to wait half an hour for a drink. Do you think to order some food, it is reported that the kitchen is closed, that took no less than 1 hour. Good thick cakes.

However, food is mediocre and parking quite pricey.
