Zanotto's Family Market Review

The deli in the back of the grocery store makes amazing sandwiches with a really wood selection of meats, cheeses and veggies. They also have a huge drink selection too including bottled craft beers.

The only thing this place is missing is rainbow cookies .
Other wise it almost like being back in New York .

I really like shopping at this Market very friendly staff. Great meet & Fish selection good quality. Grocery items are going to be higher in price. Vegetables are high quality and good selection.

Love their sandwiches counter in the back of the store and their patio. Selection is a mix of fancier (pricier) merchandise and your run-of-the-mill brands. Parking can get busy on week-ends.

Quality meats and more unique brands/products compared to popular chains.

I just visited for the first time on 12/23/18 after hearing about their sandwiches from colleagues. I just moved into the area and needed a couple of things for my holiday meal prep so I popped in to see what he buzz was about. It's a neat market, and I loved the deli counter! The staff behind the counter were very quick and friendly. I wish the same could be said of their customers, but I digress. This is more of a higher end or specialty market than your typical big chain store. I was glad for that, but it did hit my wallet a bit hard. I stopped in the cafe to see what was on offer and was curious about a pink cake they had and I wanted to try it. I was so glad the gal who helped me warned me of the price! When she told me what it was and I said I'd take it she hesitated and then said, "Just so you know it's $15 per piece." and I was shocked, but grateful. This was a small round cake, half the size of a small coffee cup. I went with the $4 cheesecake instead and was quite pleased. The checkout process was fine until I got home and realized that they charged me for my bag lunch but it wasn't in my grocery bags at all! Luckily I'm now a local, but if I wasn't I would have been so upset, I went back and the cashier very nonchalantly said, "Oh yeah here." and handed me my bag lunch. Not trying to trash talk anyone, but he and the gal helping him bag both seemed a bit out of it, if you know what I mean. I enjoy the occasional puff myself now and then, but never on the job, I mean c'mon! Oh well, no real harm done I suppose, but not how I expected my first visit to go either. The sandwiches are really great, though!

Try the NEW Italian sandwich. It is delicious, especially if you ask the nice deli clerks to toast it!!

Phenomenal Italian deli sandwich. Perfectly balanced flavors. The first thing I said after eating one for the first time was, "Damn. That's a f#*$ing good sandwich!"

I've always loved this grocery store, unlike any other I know, I especially love their organic whole milk with cream on top.

It seems ok but really expensive!!! More then Whole Foods check out the pics. 5.99 vs 7.99 crazy!!! I doubt I ll go there to shop

It's a cute grocery store with a decent looking produce section, hence two stars vs just one. However, we went because we heard great things about their meat counter. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

Not only were their filet mignons the worst cut I had ever seen (thick veins of gristle throughout both steaks purchased), but it was also on the cusp of being spoiled. We decided to cook them and didn't get sick, so that's a plus.

We also got 4-5 large scallops. They were slightly frozen when we got them home, which should mean that they should still be fresh. When we started to prep them, the distinct fishy odor indicative of old meat was evident. We threw them away, not wanting to take a risk with them.

Maybe we caught them on a really bad night, however, we won't be going back to find out.

Best meat department yes a little expensive but worth it

Old style around the corner grocery store that I really want to like. Good service. No special assortment though, and quite expensive meats with no obvious premium quality. Hope it ll stay but I probably won t visit again.

The cold and hot sandwiches are the best in town and their prepared pasta salads are great. Normal groceries are expensive but fruits and vegetables are very reasonably priced

This is a well stocked local market. They have a deli section that makes delicious sandwiches custom made to your liking, grilled paninis, and even fresh made sushi!

The quality is high, and the regular prices are not low, the sale prices can be awesome. Moreover, this is the most convenient store for good quality groceries in the area.

The best small, neighbourhood market in the area...if not the world! :) Love that they have a great butcher/meat area. Seafood selection is terrific. Produce fresh. Their salad bar, soup bar and pannini section.... phenomenal. Definitely a place where there are new/unique finds too. Can you tell how much I love Zanotto's? :)

I love this place! Freshness, colors of the produce and cleanliness of the store make this such a welcoming experience. Great place to pickup marinated meats for home bbq lunch or dinner, or get it cooked already. Indulging in their deli sandwiches is a real treat too. They offer local bay area food items that you can't find at Safeway or Luckys, like Sam's BBQ Sauce, Treat Ice Cream (SJ), Marianne's Ice Cream (Santa Cruz), Bonnie Dunes lotion and soaps, some German bakery that makes the most amazing pretzel bun knots.

Don't usually grocery shop there but the deli has a great variety and they sell amazing sandwiches.

I freakin' love going to zannottos! So much great niche things I would never even know about without it. Great butcher shop fun beers and hands down one of the best sandwiches in the bay.

A great neighborhood market. Lots of food made in house. Their salsa is so good! Great place to pick up a last minute meal for the family. Also, their salad bar is awesome.

This is a great little Italian grocery store. Everything is fresh, the place is clean and well organized and staff is helpful. I haven't tried it myself, but my husband says the sandwiches here are great too!

as a neighbor i shop here every week. its pricey since its a luxury market but well worth it. super friendly helpful staff

Always on the busier side on the weekends but the deli sandwiches are totally worth the wait. 8 dollars for a giant delicious sub.

I have shopped at Zanottos' for the past thirty years plus and they have service and ambiance not to be found at supermarket chains.
There are both traditional and Italian delis and an emphasis on quality produce and specialty foods.

I faxed 2 orders for sandwiches. I put 12:15pm for pick up. I got there 5 min early. I waited for my name to be called. After 15 min I asked a guy there and he said he only got one. He said he could take my order again. I really wanted to try these sandwiches since my co workers talk about them so much. I left after 35 min. No one ever gave me my sandwich, only my co workers. I paid for his and left. I guess that's the only good thing, you don't pay for them until you actually get them. I'm not going to stand around for 40 min for a sandwich. But thank you for wasting my lunch time

Classic family market, with a solid deli, dependable fresh sandwich and salad bars, a selection of hot soups, and the best meat counter in the area. If you don't know what something is, or how to cook it, just ask. The employees take pride in their store, and a very helpful and knowledgeable.

Excellently curated selection of interesting and tasty top-end groceries. A bit pricey, for sure, and doesn't have everything--a better selection of non-alcoholic beer, for example. Still, pretty darn good market.
