Walked in earlier this week and saw a shelf full of Panettone. Didn't know which to buy. I've never tasted it and I wanted a good start. One of the staff came over and told me about the different ones and pointed over to other shelves that I hadn't even seen! I decided on the Panettone with raisins, almonds and teeny bits of frosting. This was a delicious selection. Why have I never tried it before? Seems crazy now. The last of my Panettone was cooked as french toast. A neighbor said his wife uses leftover Panettone in bread pudding. That's the thing about Zanotto's Family Market. They have all sorts of food you can't just get anywhere. Then there are the tomato sauces. Tomato sauce from Italy is a great start to any pasta dish, some may say the only way. There's even more tomato based pasta sauces in the back past the deli. The deli sells hot and cold sandwiches made right before your eyes. There's also a salad bar, cold case filled with dessert, ready made sandwiches. See the soup bar next to the windows. And if you can't find the right olive oil, pickled peppers, or balsamic yes they have a great many to choose from. Don't forget your Illy coffee beans!
