I like Zanotto's. They make the best sandwiched and it's an old style grocery store, with occasional great customer service, the people are just friendly. However, I was in there last night and asked a question and the pricing person suggested I check Google, not a good answer because I asked you and you should make the effort to answer the question.

A well-stocked local grocery store that also has an offshoot deli that makes killer sandwiches. I particularly enjoyed the tri-tip that was heated up in the panini machine. Their salad bar isn't bad either. Just be aware that the service can be a bit slow.

Walked in earlier this week and saw a shelf full of Panettone. Didn't know which to buy. I've never tasted it and I wanted a good start. One of the staff came over and told me about the different ones and pointed over to other shelves that I hadn't even seen! I decided on the Panettone with raisins, almonds and teeny bits of frosting. This was a delicious selection. Why have I never tried it before? Seems crazy now. The last of my Panettone was cooked as french toast. A neighbor said his wife uses leftover Panettone in bread pudding. That's the thing about Zanotto's Family Market. They have all sorts of food you can't just get anywhere. Then there are the tomato sauces. Tomato sauce from Italy is a great start to any pasta dish, some may say the only way. There's even more tomato based pasta sauces in the back past the deli. The deli sells hot and cold sandwiches made right before your eyes. There's also a salad bar, cold case filled with dessert, ready made sandwiches. See the soup bar next to the windows. And if you can't find the right olive oil, pickled peppers, or balsamic yes they have a great many to choose from. Don't forget your Illy coffee beans!

I love this market. I couldn't believe it when I saw that they carried La Villa Delicatessen raviolis and sauce. The only problem.... I didn't realize that they weren't the meat w/spinach ravs or meat sauce (that La Villa sells in their deli) UNTIL I got home (in FRESNO). My daughter was NOT the happy camper

Underrated sandwich spot. Great Italian sub here with quality meats and veggies. Good spot for a quick bite and the patio is normally crowded on a sunny day. Grocery items are good however sometimes not a great value.

Excellent local grocery store. Tends a little on the pricey side as these things do, but not outrageous. Things that they excel at include their meat department, fresh salad bar, sushi, beer selection, and supplies for grilling.

I really wanted this to be our new grocery store. But sadly we won't be back. You're greeted by a teenage tyrant making you sanitize your cloth gloves. Then we fill our cart full of groceries and go to check out. Only to find out they don't allow outside bags. So you load all your groceries in the cart, then on the conveyor belt, then back in the cart, then you have to go outside and bag your groceries. Then, they have the cart return in the parking lot roped off with a sign saying you have to deliver the cart back to that teenager that is sitting in the cart area on his cell phone. Sorry Zanotto's you make it too hard to give you our business. We cook all our meals so our grocery bill is well over $200 each trip. We will give our business to another grocer that doesn't make it so difficult to shop. Too many hoops to jump through. So sad! PS: You might want to dust your bottles of Marsala wine.

I've been looking for a place like this forever. Their grocery selections are great, including nice meat and fish, but I'm in love with their beer selection.

I find so many things in their beer cooler that are hard or generally impossible to get and I love having them in my neighborhood.

The cashiers working are friendly and interesting and they have enough cashiers meaning you won't wait in line for two hours to buy groceries.

Go here, everything's great.

Because of its location, this is definitely the Whole Foods I visit the most in SF. It usually seems like this is the case for everyone else in the city, as it's very crowded in the store's tight quarters. Pretty much your standard Whole Foods selection here. I come here for my daiya cheese and vegan muffin fix (but better come early for the latter, as they often sell out quick.) They also have a very large bulk foods section, great for things like brown rice, quinoa, and nutritional yeast.

Not worth coming here during pandemic. You cannot social distance your self from no one. It's so small inside the the isles are to narrow. Also check your receipt you probably got over chargered. They dont seem to care about the customers over all health. So sad.

So you go to this place right, first thing you do is ignore everything in the store and go to the very back and locate the deli. There, you will order the most delicious sandwich you've ever had with anything you can possibly imagine on it. Do yourself a favor and make visiting Zanotto's a habit. I give my favorite deli an onion bread/10.

I love their deli foods. Yet when l ask for $2-$3 worth of turkey, they have been over charging almost .75 - .85 cents more.
I spoke to the manager & was not very nice about it.
So l left very unhappy.
Do they do that to other customers?
I hope not, we pay the deli workers salaries.
I may try again, if it happens again,
I ll go to Lunardi s .
