I recently visited the Topher theatre as part of the SXSW Film Festival. I was so impressed with the staff and facilities. The theatre is modern and clean without being pretentious. The bathroom were delightful and spotless.

Just saw The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (originally written by C.S. Lewis) at Zach Theatre. The 2 actors did an amazing job re-creating this play. It s a play that demonstrates good and evil, multiple worlds layered on top of each other, the substitutionary atonement of the lion (representing Jesus Christ who is the lion of Judah), forgiveness, faith, hope, and so much more. Originally written by a Christian who was a former atheist, this play has profound meaning. The actors did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life, demonstrating the core themes, and creating emotional fireworks. Excellent job. We highly recommend this play, this theatre, and the actors.

The new Topfer Theater finally matches the talent on stage and is one of the better places to watch a live production in the country. Zach consistently has some of the most talented actors and innovative plays. The most recent production of "All the Way" about LBJ's Great Society area was outstanding.

Love this place! Chaperoned for a field trip and really enjoyed the trip, myself. The cast were so personable and waited at the door after the show to meet everyone - a lost art of its own, these days. Highly recommend!

Big comfortable seats and plenty of leg room. Talented actors. Professional quality theater accoutrements. Full bar and nice snacks and swag. Warm staff. Production and talent rivaling off Broadway. Austin has got a gem. Enjoy this.

Beauty and The Beast. This was a great production at a standard expected for this level of professionalism.

One minor disappointment was Beast's rendition of his song about Belle, this is usually a Major highlight of the musical and was downplayed.

The on site parking is always handy, better to get there early to make sure you get a spot. $8 park fee is reasonable for Austin.

Also enjoyed the pre show live music, the three ladies did an admirable job keeping the crowd entertained.

Good to see Zach also added an extra bar for snack and drink service, lines were much more reasonable.

I always enjoy the shows at Zach.

Immortal longings exceeded my expectation,I had the opportunity to meet the play write, Terrance McNally cherry on the cake!!!

The ZACH Scott's production of Rent was one of the best that I have seen and in my opinion better than the film. The staging was a little bit genius (as many of their shows are) and the actors were perfect in their roles. Although I feel that for me the quality of their performances are a mixed bag of success, the theatre is never low-budget and the experience unfailingly entertaining.

Saw "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" here for my first show at the Zach. Great theater, wonderful staff and the play was phenomenal. All were impressed and entertained. Will return.

Great atmosphere, quality entertainment, and the show i went to even provided free snacks!

I was impressed by the availability and levels of parking. You could pay to park close, but i was happy to walk just a few minutes for some free parking, it made the night that much easier on my bank account. :)

Great facility, there is a lot of parking and it can get crowded. I really enjoy the shows that they offer. It is a great experience, went with a friend on a fluke and I enjoyed my time there. I would definitely go back. everyone is very nice and friendly.

Admittedly I hold a bias here! I've volunteered for Zach Theatre for several years. I've grown to love and truly appreciate this live theater venue. Enjoy an upscale evening or enjoy bringing the little ones to the family series. Folks I work with are fun, energetic, professional and kind. I've enjoyed everthing from Champagne Openings to petting zoos to one-man shows on the more intimate stages.

The Zach Theatre is a great place to go to watch live performers and real acting skill when you get bored of your zero plotline and flashy explosions hollywood movies. This is a place to appreciate the skills of the performers and to lose yourself in the story that they unravel around you. A place to take a date, a friend or family to enjoy the mysteries of the theatre.

Full disclosure: I have worked closely with the ZACH staff for the past few years as a Theater Manager for the venue during the SXSW film festival. I have had nothing but a great experience with them, and have found them to be friendly, helpful, and level-headed even in stressful situations. However, I'll be reviewing the venue from my perspective as a theater-goer, having caught ZACH's production of "Les Miserables" back in October. Having worked with the theater before, I was curious about what a theatrical production there would be like, and both my boyfriend and I were impressed on all counts. First off, the ZACH's Topfer Theater is just a gorgeous venue. The building's facade, lobby, and lounge spaces are all sleek and modern without being imposing, as is the 420-seat theater. Inside, the acoustics are great, and the seats are plush, roomy, and comfortable. Any theatrical company can be hit-or-miss, and I'm writing this review based on only one production, but from that experience, I was very impressed. To be honest, local theater productions can sometimes seem a little amateurish, but the vocals, acting quality, set design, and direction on "Les Miserables" were all hugely impressive and very affecting. As I commented to my boyfriend afterwards, I felt that some of the performances I saw at ZACH were more impressive than the Hollywood A-listers in the film version! (Certainly some of the vocals were more on-key!) I know that ZACH produces a wide range of events, ranging from musicals like this one, to children's productions, to touring one-man (and -woman) shows. Tickets are quite affordable, ranging from $25-$70 for a seat. Unfortunately, I do not make it out to the theater as often as I would like, but with ZACH making the experience available and accessible to everyone, I have no excuse not to venture out for more shows. ZACH Theater is a fantastic resource for our community, and I will definitely be heading back.

I live really close by and I love this place. Everyone is super friendly and the shows are so professional. There are no bad seats in the entire theater. The cost is incredible for the quality of production. A wonderful local theater for downtown Austin that does so much for our community.

Seating was too cozy! An elderly woman sat next to me and reeked of old lady perfume. Two teenage girls sat right behind us. One of them steadily kicked the back of my chair. The show we went to see, The Christmas Carol wasn t very Christmasy. The talent was great, but very little Christmas music. We left at intermission, because of the girls kicking the back of the chair and the old lady s perfume making me gag. I had paid $8 to park in a cramped parking lot. I couldn t get out of the lot till the show was over. They used every bit of space that they could squeeze a car in. Ended up walking to Baby A s to eat and waste the next hour and a half. I think next time we ll stay in Round Rock and go see a play at the Old Settlers Play House.
