Great location, I liked the Roussane and Reserve Syrah best.

Loved this winery! Our hostess was so engaging. Wine was suppurb!
Safe, safe, safe. You're required to wear a mask when not seated at your table and 1 memberofyour party is allowed in the main building at a time. Dog friendly, great staff, and great wine.
We have been to Zaca Mesa in the past with some great years, then a few recent years that things seemed to be off course. We stopped back today to find a renewed life in the operation and winery!!
Found out they have a new GM who is really getting things turned around. Add to that a new (well for a few years now) winemaker whos wine is now being released. And for confirmation - Wine Spectator has rated 90+ points for a LONG list of wines!!
We are white wine lovers, and had an amazing array to choose from, but our favs were
- Chardonnay
- Grenache Blanc
- Rousanne
- Z Blanc
And then we went to their signature Z Cuvees, Rose, etc. It was a tough choice to pick what we wanted (without filling the trunk). There were sales on cases this time (40% off), etc.
This year they had their 40th anniversary there, and apparently more events will be coming. I AM A FAN!!!!
Wines are nice, service was friendly and tolerant of our preferences for reds or whites.
The winery is NOT where Google Maps shows you. You must go North on Foxen Canyon Rd. for about 9-10 miles. Follow the white signs. Again... the winery is NOT just off of the 154. It's about 10 miles North on Foxen Canyon. It's WELL worth the trip. Amazing wine! The staff is really nice and fun.
Great wines and very friendly staff!
Nice tasting room
Im a chauffeur and this us always one of the most pleasant wineries to visit
Some of the best wine anywhere to be found in California
The tasting room was packed during our visit, and the bartenders were overloaded. For $10 and our time, it was a worthwhile stop on our traversal of Foxen Canyon.
We have been going to Santa Ynez wine country for decades. We were members at Zaca in the 1990 s and 2000 s. We loved the place!!! But there came a point when the wines were not the greatest and then the biz changed hands and they lost all the wonderful folks who worked there So bad wine not so great staff (plus changes to tasting room and labels which we didn t like we dropped our club membership. We have been by passing Zaca for years after we dropped. Last week we decided to give it another go. Wines were very tasting and the person pouring (Kathy) who was very enjoyable. So we rejoined Zaca s club after many years away. It was a great tasting experience thanks to the wine and Kathy.
Google maps now has it in the right location, north around the bend from the much larger Fess Parker facility. Great wines and friendly staff distinguish this winery.
Beautiful, welcoming facility and lounging area. Generous wine list for tasting. Updated wine list.
I have been a club member for years. The wine is great, the service is great and their venue is gorgeous. Dog and kid friendly. Bring a picnic and enjoy!
Great wines, fun visit. Marlisa took great care of us!
McKenzie was knowledgeable and fun , great place to visit
5 ***** to the lady pouring for her excellent customer services, I think her name is Kathy.
Tasting room is small, picnic tables outside beside the tasting room, so your allowed to bring a picnic basket totally cool.
I am a fan of their Syrah, and they just release a 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon for their very first time, nice. I am wine club member.
Great atmosphere, average wine, and smug staff. The wine Rideau made from their grapes was incredible, so Zaca must be doing something right.
My wife and I visited the Zaca Mesa tasting room after we missed the turnoff for another Winery and we couldn't be happier about our blunder. Even though they were absolutely packed, the staff was still extremely friendly and provided great service. There wasn't a miss in the 6 wines in our flight and the Eight Barrel Syrah that fished it off was absolutely fabulous (we bought a bottle). They are on the short list of candidates for our very selective stable of club memberships. Best wrong turn ever!
It was really touristy and the wines all tasted like they had been cut with 25% water.
My boyfriend and I drove here from LA and had the best experience. Garrett was our tour guide and he was so informative. We didn t feel stupid asking questions which made us feel comfortable since we know nothing about wines. I d highly recommend visiting this winery. Everyone was friendly and nice.
Great wines and friendly people. Zaca Mesa is home to the oldest Syrah in Santa Barbara County. They are known for their Syrah, but also make other varietals.
Great time with great friends, delicious wine and beautiful views!
Wine is delicious. Wine club was a very bad experience, too many problems to list. After enjoying their wine for close to 40 years, I won t be back.
This is by far my favourite winey I've been to so far in Santa Barbara County. It's staff are all so nice! The wines are older vintage than most poured and served at other wineries I've been to giving the wine a more finished and refined product.
Incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating, and inviting staff. The grounds are amazing! All the wines were exemplary! Highly recommended for a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon!
Excellent Syrah wines and Viognier and Rousanne. Friendly and helpful folks.
My wife and I love this place. Great atmosphere, great people and best of all, great wine. Good place to have a picnic too.
Great wine, nice tasting room with reasonable price. Remember the days wine tasting was free? Those days are long gone, depending on winery price varies between $10 and $20.
