Prachtlocatie met zeer interessante en relevante tentoonstellingen. De nieuwbouw is impressionist en het 'oude' gedeelte charmant. Mooi gelegen ook naast het begijnhof. Al vele jaren trouwe bezoeker.

This fairly new arts center blows a refreshing wind through the Flemish art world. Each space has a unique installation where experience and perception are the pivot.

Nice location but the 2 exhibitions were a bit too modern for me. Certainly from "Cute (the Work)" I expected something different. A lot of sand and a lot of stones doesn't mean anything to me!

Movement exercises in English language ... as a start: ... too bad! Love My language, especially in my country. Beautiful, well-kept location. Fascinating how time is approached in many areas. ... Always interesting to see works from last years!

Nice location, artwork, at least some of them were very interesting.
Organization could be improved.
I found the lady who welcomed us in the beguinage houses to be below average and the works of art were nicely described in the folder, but not everywhere was a mention of the corresponding figure in terms of comments. So guess a bit.

Beautiful museum with conceptual art. The Sunday I was there was also a guided tour on the hour, no unnecessary luxury with this kind of art. The building and the garden itself are also worth a visit.

About Z33

Z33: A Boundary-Pushing Art Institution in Hasselt

Z33 is a unique art institution located in the city of Hasselt, Belgium. It is a place where contemporary art, design, and architecture intersect to create an immersive experience for visitors. The institution has been at the forefront of promoting innovative and thought-provoking works of art since its inception.

The name Z33 comes from its location on Zuivelmarkt 33, which was once a post office building that has now been transformed into an artistic hub. The institution's mission is to provide a platform for artists to showcase their work and engage with audiences through exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and other events.

One of the key features that sets Z33 apart from other art institutions is its focus on experimentation and innovation. The curators at Z33 are always looking for new ways to push boundaries and challenge traditional notions of what constitutes art. This approach has led to some truly groundbreaking exhibitions over the years.

Another aspect that makes Z33 stand out is its commitment to sustainability. The institution strives to minimize its environmental impact by using eco-friendly materials in exhibitions and events whenever possible. This dedication to sustainability aligns with the broader cultural shift towards more environmentally conscious practices.

Z33's programming includes both solo shows by individual artists as well as group exhibitions that explore specific themes or ideas. Recent exhibitions have included "The Sea - Salut d'honneur Jan Hoet", which examined our relationship with the ocean; "Design Derby Belgium-Netherlands", which showcased design objects from both countries; and "Fragments of Repair/Kader Attia", which explored issues related to colonialism and cultural identity.

In addition to exhibitions, Z33 also hosts workshops where visitors can learn new skills or techniques related to various forms of artistic expression such as photography or sculpture-making. These workshops are open not only for adults but also children who can participate in creative activities designed specifically for them.

Overall, Z33 offers a unique experience for anyone interested in contemporary art, design or architecture. Its commitment towards experimentation combined with sustainable practices makes it one-of-a-kind among other similar institutions around Europe.
