I have been a member for 7+ years and have loved it. The YWCA offers a great variety of classes and I am able to find something to fit my schedule most days. A bonus is that my children love Ms. Teresa in the child care room. So I don't have to worry about them while exercising. Plus we have really enjoyed the swim lessons and look forward to joining the Orange Crush swim team next year.

Our family has been a member of the YWCA Central Carolinas since 2000. We can't say enough positive things about our experience! The staff is so friendly and the facility is well equipped and maintained (and check out the gorgeous locker room renovations!). I love the variety of exercise classes that are offered and the child care options make participation so easy. All three of our children have learned to swim through the excellent coaching program. Our family is proud to support the YWCA Central Carolinas programs for the women and children of our community - they are truly making our city a better place. We love the YDub! Charlotte's best kept secret!!!! LOVE the YWCA - my kids do, too. Family membership includes daycare and more than pays for itself! Staff is awesome, classes are great/well scheduled and the pool and locker rooms are really nice. And you can always get a lane swimming and a parking place! We love being members here!

I love the convenience of easy parking, easy access. I love the classes that are motivating and fun. And I love the sense of community of knowing the staff, the instructors, and other patrons. I could never stick to an exercise routine until I found the YWCA which kept me motivated but not intimidated. I ll be a member for many years to come!!

Our family loves the YWCA! We enjoy the pool, the swim clinics, and pool aerobic events, and we also like the classes and cardio rooms. The staff are friendly and we feel like we are part of the YW community. We are always able to find a pool lane, cardio machine, or floor space in the yoga room at times that fit our busy schedules. We love this facility and the great work they do to empower women and end racism!

They have great aquatics offerings here. My son has been enjoying their Flick N' Floats program including both group and private swimming lessons. The swimming facility was recently renovated so everything is new and clean. The staff here are magnificent. They are well organized and responsive. Tim, Jeff, and Brian are all phenomenal coaches who are caring, good at teaching, and able to get the result. My son has improved a lot since joining. They also participate in swim meets and the championship where kids can have friendly competitions with other clubs/teams. It is a great way to get the kids to be more serious about swimming without losing the fun part. Overall I highly recommend the swimming program here. Go Orange Crush!

They have a sauna! End of review. Nah, not only is there something for everyone at the YWCA from low impact workout classes to triathlon and distance running coaching. Their lockers rooms are large and clean. Not to mention how they support women in the community. An all-around great place to call your workout home. Try them with a FREE four-visit pass.

The YWCA is a great place to work out. It is a community and very welcoming. My husband and I have been working out at the YWCA for over 10 years. The staff is amazing and truly cares about your health and fitness goals. If you miss a class or have not been around, folks ask about you and genuinely care. They have made great strides in updating the facilities. The new lockers rooms are great along with the updates made to the indoor pool. I attend the YWCA for the classes, indoor pool and the fantastic community.

I love this Y! It is a great place for kids to learn to swim and for an easy going workout vibe. It's never crowded, the people are friendly and the classes are non-competitive. I also love that I may workout with a teenager in side and on octogenarian on the other. It's a sweet community.

Sauna, new locker rooms, a family locker room, a pool, weight room, aerobic equipment, spin classes, Pilates, yoga... they have a lot to offer.

This Y also has housing for women and families. The mission they support in Charlotte is wonderful and meaningful.

I am a part of the Women In Transition program here at the YWCA Central Carolinas. The program has taught the importance of saving and making a monthly budget. I have become more financially literate and responsible since joining the program.
My case manager, Amy Rose, is the greatest! She is very compassionate and understanding; she also challenges me to be the best woman I can be for myself and my future.
Great place though you will need a referral from a social worker, or someone else with similar qualifications as a social worker, just to join the Women In Transition program (Transitional Housing program for single women without dependents under 18 years old... Though there is a program for families too)
The maximum stay is 18 months.

Our family has been members of the YWCA now for over five years and just want to get the word out that this place is fantastic. The Gym is top notch with great equipment, outstanding classes, and just an overall excellent facility. New locker rooms are also very nice. The fitness classes are really super and offered throughout the day at convenient times - after work, lunchtime workouts and even early bird sessions before work. Instructors are very motivating and help adjust the exercises to your level, beginner or expert. Lots of good friendly, camaraderie and you can get a great workout. Nice pool for swimming laps or taking exercise classes. This is just a great spot whether young or old, male or female. Even have childcare for our family. Highly suggest anyone check it out. A real gem

Love this place! I have been going there for many years and it has maintained a certain "sparkle" year after year. The staff is exceptional and the facility is truly excellent. Not only that the YWCA mission to eliminate racism and empower women is represented throughout the facility. Their advocacy, as well as programs and events, create awareness and change in the areas of racial injustice and civil rights, as well as the empowerment and health and safety of women and families. As a YWCA fitness member, I have received "benefits" beyond just being fit. I am proud to be a member of something so unique and significant.

Finally, in my mid-30s, I've found a gym that makes me comfortable in every aspect. Group exercise offerings push me out of my comfort zone while the instructors lead me to finding my edge along the way. The indoor pool and family locker rooms make swim lessons for my young children accessible. Members are treated with immense respect. I actually consider the YWCA on Park Road an extension of family and look forward to every event/activity/class (every opportunity!) I have to step through their sliding glass doors.

I first joined the YWCA as single person when I moved next door to the facility in 2000. Our family of five now enjoys a family membership. We absolutely love the "YDub". The staff is amazing - so friendly, loving and hardworking - they truly make us feel like family. The recently renovated fitness center offers plenty of machines and classes of all varieties and is never too crowded. The aquatics staff has taught all three of our kids how to swim and they love participating on the Orange Crush swim team. Most importantly, we love that the money we spend on fitness goes to support such important outreach programs in our community.

The Women In Transition (WIT) is great. You start by meeting with a case manager that helps you, during your time in transitional housing, with any community resources available, advice on finding permanent housing, and serves as a accountability partner as it pertains to budgeting and saving up for your move into permanent housing.
The program lasts up to 18 months, you are advised to attend at least 5 workshops that are hosted on site throughout each year you participate in the program.
The people here are very caring and challenge the participants to be their best selves.

My boys have been taking swim lessons at the ywca and we love it. They enjoy going and at five years old my son can swim the length of the pool. The staff is friendly and patient. I highly recommend.
