Brilliant place to visit. But the parking fees are a joke
Great place, massive park and plenty to see. Come prepared for a long walk if you want to see it all!
Absolutely superb day out. Wasn't sure what to expect but was very impressed. The installation in the church was a particular highlight. Great day for the family when accompanied with a picnic.
We love this place. The parking price has gone up considerably over the past few years however the sculpture and exhibits change really frequently, there are some good long walks you can do and you can spend the whole day there when the weather is good. The restaurant food is nice but a little pricy and the service last time we went wasn't great. They did rectify immediately by giving us free cakes would recommend
Wonderful setting for some fantastic pieces. Really need full day to enjoy
We like this place. Great walks with interesting wildlife and sculptures.
I have visited the YSP many times as we only live 5 mins away in the car but this will be the last time! After having a fantastic walk around the lake on the new foot path we (me my 4 year old son and 3 year old daughter) we popped into the More
Great walking, lovely and muddy today great sculptures
Lovely walks with interesting and inspiring sculptures. All for free apart from parking which is a bit steep if you're on your own.
A favourite cultural attraction with a wide variety of artworks in a lovely setting
Wonderful artworks set amongst beautiful natural scenery. A lovely day out.
Fantastic destination in an outstanding setting with ever changing and inspirational art. Great cafe too offering a wide range of snacks to full meals.
Fabulous, free to walk round.. Have to pay for parking, take a car full
I love this place. It's a great combination of are and countryside.
Nice art, and it's a relatively big park. not my favourite, but it has atmosphere.
Amazing place. Lot to see and experience.
Best for family adventure and day out.
Allow yourself plenty of time as there is so much to see.
Had a fab time, went through the week so wasn't busy at all. Lots to look at and see and surrounded by lovely views
Great walks. Cafe takeaway and toilets open. Take picnic. Got to pre book. Enjoy
Huge place, big open spaces, great for young kids to explore. Slightly disappointed that you/young kids couldn't touch and climb on exhibits as described in the website and everything was fenced off... felt a bit restrictive for art...
Best sculpture park and gallery Ive ever been to: happen across Henry Moore, Elizabeth Frink, James Turrell, Andy Goldsworthy, placed in beautiful spots to find and enjoy. An extraordinary wealth of work, with a gallery space especially designed so that it can house v large scale works. The land, lakes and gardens are beautiful - a regular day out here should be on everyones calendar.
Amazing place to explore! Huge grounds, you can t easily see everything in a day
An absolutely great day, nice walks and some lovely sculptures, will definitely be returning again
It's ok but
Parking is expensive
One of the best family day outs ever... very relaxing and exploring type of day out. Lots of fun stuff to see. Very natural. Just remmeber to have a checklist of stuff to see or a route to follow.
Take plenty of drinks / snacks... and footwear... make sure the weather is good otherwise it will be chaos!
Enjoy your day out!
So boring. Even the children thought it was boring. No playground/park at all so we was disappointed when we visited hoping to take the children to the park.
Sculptures are simply not our thing but pur family had a great time anyway... Was very sunny so I think that helped a lot.
Food first class Sculptures very impressive but plenty of time is needed go go around everything
Has lots to do and has a area in doors that kids can play in some areas are Di not touch and others you can get really close to sculptures, was a good wandering has a pram friendly route and dog friendly route but sadly not both
I will visit again. Beautiful place. A Yorkshire gem. Staff really helpful when I left my credit card there!
Had a lovely time at YSP there was lots of great art and a nice place to walk around
Lovely day out. Especially the large statues are very impressive.
Really enjoyed the walk around seeing some of the new sculptures
Stunning place with sculpture anyone can appreciate in beautiful surroundings
Lovely place to visit, parking a bit pricey, was going to stay for lunch but would have cost too much to park. Took my elderly mother with wheel chair for a day out, no foot paths so not wheel chair friendly so couldn't make the most of the beautiful area. A bit disappointing for my mum.
Allways something new to see, so worth visiting several times a year
Great place for all the family young and old walk look eat
Went start of new year. Easy to find, just off motorway. It was extremely busy with the overflow car park being used. Lots of staff around to help direct you. However at the park extremely limited seating in all the cafes with 45 min wait in the main one. Staff are friendly but clearly not enough people or space to accommodate volume in the indoor areas. Maybe a marquee area could help with the overflow? Maps were clear. Parking fees easy to pay and not expensive. Toilets were clean. Wish they could get more financial support to ease some problems. Exhibit wise "Not Vital" was truly outstanding but would have liked to have seen more interesting exhibits, maybe some African, Indian, South American artists to give it a wider perspective. Could all a bit harsh as it's difficult for them with the parking fee, cafe and shop profits paying for everything. Still worth a day out though. Overall it was a nice visit.
What an astonishing place. The concept of placing sculptures into parkland instead of cramming them into rooms is just brilliant. We usually spend a whole day meandering through the park, admiring the exhibits, watching how the changing light reflects on the exhibits ... priceless. Beats any meditation class.
It rained the day we visited which was a shame as it's a beautiful place. There's a visitor centre with loos and a cafe, a gallery and lots of grounds with sculptures dotted around. The walk around the lake is beautiful and there are 3 other cafe/loo sites as you go around but be aware at the moment 2 are closed due to COVID.
A pleasant walk around except for a sculpture (pregnant female) not, I'm sure to everyone's taste.
Too warm, went with school, not a lot to keep cool on a warm say like it was
Even if you're baffled by monolithic statues and strange objects d'art you'll enjoy the lovely parkland and get in a good walk. You only have to pay to park.
Perfect stop off on journey up A1 as only a couple of minutes from main road. Makes a super change from a motorway cafe, though the visitor does have to pay for parking. A walk through rolling parkland, a cafe if you fancy a bite to eat, and art exhibitions to view. Might do that more often!
I would just like to say A Massive Thank you to The first aid team and and all the Staff at the Sculpture park..
We had had a fantastic day and unfortunately our Mam with a on going health condition collapsed but the team up there were absolutely fantastic going above and beyond the call of duty to help in every way possible. Not just Making Mam comfortable and well before we left, but extended their reasurrance and hospitality to the rest of us. We deeply appreciate it. And we will return again soon to visit the rest of the park we didn't get to see
Mam is now doing well and awaiting further investigations.
Thank you so much from our Mam Myself My Sister and our families. Xxx
Nice place to visit for people who love art and sculptor..the garden is beautiful and the lake is wonderful if you like walking a lot!
A rather wonderful place in many ways. Go there and enjoy!
Lots of different sculptures 2 see and lovely cafe when you get hungry walking round
One of my all time favourite places for Art outdoors and in.Bretton park provides a beautiful area of calm in nature.
Great experience. Felt very Covid safe in most parts. Lots to see. Highly recommend
Tickets booked in advance. Getting in worked like clockwork.
We assumed our 10 to 12:30 was the extent of our slot. Wrong! That's the slot window for checking in but once you are in you can stay all day.
The car parks were full by the time we left but the parkland is so extensive that social distancing was easy. Busier near the buildings. All staff we met were friendly, helpful and understanding.
Thankyou for a great day.
Really lovely sculptures and a lovely walk. I feel that more could be added for the children to enjoy themselves,
Outstanding!
A huge park with brilliant sculptures.
Always nice sculptures change reasonably frequently
Nice place, beautiful art and grounds, although the constant reminders to not touch and climb on the art were rubbing me the wrong way by the time I was done. Shame it must be necessary. That and a lot of the park is looking a little unkempt at the moment. Definitely recommend for a family day out, although sleeking of young ones beware boisterous school groups!
Lovely afternoon at the YSP. Happy to pay an individual entrance fee via online booking. Good one way signage in the park and many hand sanitizer stations.
The park never fails in the range of art to explore and the beautiful setting is superb.
Beautiful place and incredible afternoon tea - great value!
Tho some "art" spoils a very pretty bit of countryside.
Soup in restaurant is fab
My favourite place for a walk, a cross country run and to enjoy the enormous variety of sculptures. Even the ones I didn't like at first have grown on me with time. Shame they had to be roped off but some people used them as climbing frames for their kids, and the surrounding grass became muddy. Roping is pretty discreet.
More money needed to save the old trees (especially from destructive grey squirrels) and to better manage the new plantings.
Car park fee is very fair - a whole car load of people can park all day and there's no entrance fee. Sadly, some people think the rules on dogs don't apply to them. Wildlife is vulnerable to disturbance.
Used to enjoy the dawn chorus in spring but over-zealous woodland management has reduced their variety, especially along the lower lake.
Hope the hotel business isn't going to wreck the tranquillity. Very worried about a new road through the park in planning.
But for now it's one of the glories of Yorkshire. Well done Mr Murray!
Great place to go for a day trip. Lots of open space. Interesting art work. A couple of cafes for the all important cuppa.
Really enjoyed this park. Highlight was deer shed. Tranquil room, absent of distractions apart from the sky light
