Lovely setting with some interesting 'art' to look at. Some pieces are better than others...
Superb location for some outstanding artworks. One of my favourite places to visit in Yorkshire.
Stunning location. Parking a bit pricey hence 4 stars
Glorious day for leisurely walk with new sculptures at every turn. Mobility scooter available on request was a big bonus and we spent all day exploring.
Brilliant place if you have energetic kids and love being in the great outdoors.
Well-kept park, beautiful sculptures and the possibility of non-demanding walks in the midst of nature. Very green and relaxing landscape
Always a pleasure - art, nature, and nice cafe too.
Lovely family day out. The kids always have a great time. Great art exhibitions too.
Fantastic sculptures in a fantastic setting. Stunning views. Well worth a visit.
Great walk - spent two hours here with a 10 month old and could have spent much longer.
A lovely day out on a nice sunny day. Great ice cream at the cafe!
Open spaces- Acres and acres, with rivers and lakes dotted around with over 100 sculptures positioned strategically in the landscape. Unfortunately, words cannot do justice to this Sculpture Park so I have placed a few images on the Web so More
Amazing and on the day we visited Covid safe. Loved it.
Wonderful landscape in which a wide variety of sculpture is carefully placed. Superb way to weave together an interest in sculpture and a good walk. Don't miss the Andy goldsworthy dry stone walls ... circular and square enclosures and the excellent fold.
Lovely woodlands to walk round and great art to look at too
Simply a brilliant day out. Even if you don't like sculpture. The grounds are fantastic. Something for the whole family to do. Excellent food in the restaurant. Well worth a car journey. Even in winter.
Excellent to walk around and see the many sculptures.
Full of many sculptures. Makes you nod and stroke your chin. It's quite a large site so get ready to get that fitbit working
Good walking opportunity. Great for picnic and cheap day for taking g kids out, to encourage outdoor playing.
Beautiful gardens. Lots to see and plenty of space to sit on the ground and benches to have a picnic. One way system and facilties open.
A great day out regardless of the time of year
, Lots to see and explore
Really good day out, thoroughly recommend. But muddy, wear appropriate footwear.
Great day out well kept grounds with interesting sculptures. Felt very covid saft with plenty of sanatising stations around the park. Coffee shops open selling delicious treats. Love this place for a nice walk and picnic.
It is a fabulous place to go and explore and enjoy world class sculpture in the open air. Add to that fantastic indoor gallery spaces, a brilliant shop with a wide range of books and great food and you can't go wrong. Free to visit except for parking.
Great place for a visit. You could spend all day just walking around the park admiring the art. Very good cafe
Fantastic park with an amazing variety of modern sculpture dotted around. Huge open space with picnic areas and a lovely day out alone, with a significant other or as a family. Loved it!
Inspiration at every visit! Especially love "Seizure", the rather hidden copper sulphate crystal smothered apartment.
Beautiful place, some building work in progress on a visitor centre but honestly grab a mate and get out here for a few hours, interesting pieces of art to admire on the way around the big lake
What a lovely place to visit especially when distancing from others is so important. Well worth the money
Wonderful place for families, couples, groups or just explore on your own! Acres of land with sculptures in expected and unexpected places. Don't forget to do the pleasant walk across the field to the awesome modern art gallery - a real hidden gem.
Always a pleasure to visit !!! Free entrance, you do pay a couple quid for parking, but worth every bit.
Must visit, the outstanding sculpture park in the UK.
Had a fantastic day. Beautiful sculptures , scenery and friendly staff
A nice walk around it is free but the car parking is expensive
Awesome place to visit with friends or family. The only thing that could improved - we were unable to find any maps of the entire park. Having map would helped us to better navigate around the park.
The hit ... Best connection between culture and nature ... soooo good!
Lovely dog walk this afternoon on a cool but dry day and it wasn't too muddy. We met very few people despite quite a number of cars parked. As ever some interesting new sculptures but I still find some of Damien Hirst's work a little disturbing. The pregnant lady is certainly a good lesson in anatomy. Finished with a hot coffee before putting two dogs into the car where they immediately crashed out.
Always a pleasure to visit you here - always something new to discover.
Excellent cafe and exhibitions in the temporary gallery generally very good.
Felt beautiful today with the lambs on such a gorgeous day. Nice good coffee to and a really peaceful walk around the wooded area.
Lovely walk around the park. It was a lot bigger than I expected. Some interesting sculptures and some very random ones.
It should be 5 stars.. It was when I was growing up. But then there weren't as many visitors, the shop was reasonably priced and a lot of walks were closed off, hidden, kept as nature reserves (boys will be boys). You were guaranteed to see a couple of deer, find little hidden features, it was great. Climb on the sculptures (we didn't break them).
Roll forward almost 30 years.
Stick in an art exhibition, set the parking prices to infinity and charge people insanity in the gift shops and cafe.
Next open the nature reserves and uncover the hidden features and let the young of today in. No deer, badger, fox... maybe a squirrel but even they run from some speaker stuck in a tree.
The worst part is the irreparable vandalism. You might not notice but I knew a lot of the historical items/cool features that were there and feel sad that they can never be replaced.
It's still a great place though. Still has lots of places to adventure. My advice park further away on the roadside and walk in from the entrance closest to Junction 38 Haigh roundabout. Make sure and take a picnic/ your own food and drink. Enjoy it. Not destroy it.
I love this place. Nice grounds dog friendly. Good artwork
Amazing day out for whole family, we barely saw 1/4 of it so will be back. Scenery and are both stunning. Well organised social distancing, lovely food in the cafe too.
Very large Park area with a variety of different styles of sculpture to suit all tastes. As the grounds are so large, you do need to be relatively mobile to get around, not necessary fit, but certainly have no knee/leg problems. Nice picnic area with large tables. Cafe overlooking the park.
Weather perfect the park was beautiful' lovely day out
Best place in Yorkshire therfore the world. Amazing
Not really into art and sculptors. But the walk around the park is lovely.
Fabulous displays especially at th other gallery. Parking is easy - say when you go in. No problems :-)
Visited by catching a train to Darton, then walking up the Dearne Way.
Beautiful place for a walk, lovely peices if art through out, reasonable access for a push chair too
Went on a beautiful Autumn day, and the grounds and scenery were lovely. My favourite part of the park was looking at the wonderful big old trees. Couldn't care less about the "art", I thought some pieces were a blot on the landscape. Big ugly metal structures amongst beautiful woodland and open fields. One or two pieces were interesting, but mostly they were pretentious nonsense. I absolutely hated the bags of dog poo strewn around near where the pay station was. Yuck! Think the artist was having a laugh charging us so much money for a load of sh**.
You can keep this modern art nonsense, I prefer nature's artwork, ie, landscapes and wildlife.
Wide open spaces with beautiful scenery. Excellent for anyone who enjoys walks and fresh country air.
Interesting and a good idea. Good cafe too, well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Always worth a visit. Great open space and amazing works to see
Love that you can pay your parking online and after your visit
Always a great day out, with some smashing sculpture and a lovely walk round. Deceptively huge and could spend multiple days just there. Completely free just the parking to pay for. Nice little gift shop and facilities for children too.
Parking Prices:
Great place to see all sorts of art in the outdoors
Wonderful place to visit. Good for dogs, children and oldies. Plenty to see and a good place to spend the day. Take a picnic and fill all your senses.
Very enjoyable visit. Great way to see some sculptures I'd never normally encounter with a gorgeous background of Yorkshire thrown in for good measure.
Excellent!! Well looked after and adhered well to covid rules xx
Beautiful park, if you are lucky and it's good weather, great for walking and observe a large range of sculptures.
Lovely place to walk round and admire the views :) would definitely recommend!
