Yorkshire Sculpture Park Review

Great place for all the family. A lot depends on the exhibits at the time. Visitor centre is superb with original artwork and gifts to buy.

Some truly impressive sculptures in a wonderful landscape.

Large outdoor area of exibits. Smaller indoor area with cafe. Entry fee is paid by a parking fee, which is fair.

One day isn't long enough to take it all in. Lovely scenic walks around the lakes on top of the sculptures.

Much bigger than I thoght it was! Had a great day out.

Great wide open country park with a good range of exhibits. Inside spaces currently closed but cafes and facilities open.

Great place for a day out especially if it's nice weather.

Third time visiting and we absolutely loved it. Mister Finch was exhibiting his Wish Post creations and it was magical. We live in Oxfordshire but if we were closer would visit every month without fail. The mix of long walks through varied More

Good value for money!!

Feels like robbery for just the price of the car park, well worth an extra donation. Wear suitable shoes and get there early if you want to see as much as you can. Or just keep coming back like we do

Just go and enjoy. This place is probably unique, certainly worth a detour, fab pieces in exquisite setting. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

Amazing place however, not for the sculptures. There a little pointless compared to its beauty

Very disappointing, I know it's winter but having parked in the overflow car park, the mixture of mud and limestone chippings was very messy. Many of the paths in the Park are limestone chippings with puddles. The paved area and steps to the gallery were full of mud and gravel. This is a beautiful parkland area which for the views alone is worth a visit, but I would recommend you leave it until the summer. They haven't given any thought underfoot conditions.

Fantastic selection of sculptures in such in such lovely grounds, there's not enough hours in the day to cover everything, so definitely coming back for more!

Fabulous day today. First time I have been for years. I love the fact that all dogs must be on a short lead at all times, it helps me to train my boy in beautiful surroundings, not only with dogs but all wildlife so I can teach him to be respectful. The sculptures are fascinating.

Great park for a day out. Free entry, only have to pay to park. Perfect for family with kids.

Wonderful day out with kids in nice weather! From the freely roaming animals there is some stuff left after them on the grass but well... its like this anywhere! Visitors showing respect for the place,cos there's not much littering goes around and the staff looking after the place !

Perfect day out, no matter what the weather it's always a trip worth making.

A really good day out. Lots to look at and even in the winter and great place to visit.

Lovely grounds but not as many sculptures as I had expected. I fully recommend a visit though as it's a great walk around the reservoir and there are a few interesting sculptures to find. The sheep and cows were cool too.

Really great day out. Brilliant views and ample parking. Lots of duck pop so be warned if you re taking little ones. Wellies a must!

The parkland is lovely and the sunshine on the trees and water was very pretty.
The sculpture was disappointing to me. I only found 3, of the many, in any way inspirational.
I believe that Henry Moore was having a laugh at our expense with his lumps of shapes.
The boxes screwed together with very obvious screws I could not believe. Not art to me.
The big head on the far side of the lake was brilliant as it changes as you move along the lake. The neon one was clever and I loved the big phone guy!

An amazing display of art in the galleries and in the beautiful grounds. Parking is expensive if you want to visit for a few hours.

Always inspirational with a program of international artists and the a great place to explore and walk around

Went to see the Seated Man in his new home. He has a very good view, almost as good as his last one

If you like the modern arts and walking it will be a great place for you. It's free only pay for a car park. You can spend a lot of time there. The nice cafe in there, the best choice for a clear day.

Love the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Great place to visit for a couple of hours, lovely walk. We keep returning!

A wonderful combination of art and the great outdoors. A lovely place to take a long walk and enjoy some culture.

The park was OK. I did think whilst we were walking around as there was no specific route as such it maybe more difficult with wheelchairs as you would not have been able to get right up to some of the sculptures. Probably pushchairs too if the ground was wet.

Such a great place to take the family, at any ages. Inspiring and somewhat intriguing for all to visit. Great amenities too, you can have a wonderful lunch during your day. And there is enough to do here at YSP for an entire day. Walk those legs into tired jellies and enjoy a well earned rest when you return to your holiday let or hotel for the evening. An amazing visit.

Lovely food and excellent coffee's, great place to relax and take a stroll or take in all the art. Always a new exhibition on when I come and beautiful surroundings.

A great day out for all (even those who are not into Art or sculpture)

Beautiful park, lovely trail, parking is a tenner but with a full car that's nothing and means you can take your time rather than the rush about. Gorgeous part of Yorkshire

Very enjoyable walk around the site. Busier than expected and parking isn't cheap. Personally I don't appreciate modern art but the park is lovely enough to enjoy without needing to.
Cafe had very limited choices but we were there late in the day.
Toilets and lift to both levels.
Not much there for children except space and things that looked good to climb but you aren't allowed to touch!!

Open free just pay for parking great country side. Good food and if you appreciate arts this is the best.

Fantastic place. Beautify sculptures, lovely routes and some world class exhibitions. On hot days make sure you have plenty of water and supplies as it can take hours to walk round. In rainy/cold days make sure you dress well. Only downside the very expensive car park. There are cheaper options around though

This place has beautiful walks accompanied with interesting sculptures, you could spend all day here if you're prepared to walk.

Really enjoyed a two hour visit. Could easily have made it four hours.

Really nice place to go for a walk. A bit boggy when it's been raining so I would recommend some walking shoes/boots.

Excellent day out with friends. Wonderful grounds and fantastic array of sculptures scattered throughout. Car parking wasn't cheap, but it was sort of the entrance fee too. The cafes had a nice range of food and drink and prices were reasonable. Good for children of all ages. Highly recommended and would visit again.

Great place but parking cost is becoming too much for visting alone . Great value for families though

I always love it there. Well worth a visit. The Mr Finch exhibition was amazing.

An ideal place for a day out for family. Lovely park with modern sculptures

The place is great. It depends on the current exhibits as to how much you'll enjoy it, obviously art is subjective. We have visited when Andy Goldsworthy was showing - 6*. Last time we went it was some American from the 1940s who made stuff out of scrap metal - 1*.

It's a great place for a day out a walk around over fields paths and have a cultural experience

Grounds Good if you are Up for a walk. Lots to see. Superb cafe with very good meals. Beautiful grounds with epic sculpted exhibits. Indoor art exhibitions & installation space. Easily spend a full day. There is a free bus shuttle available (for the old folk,not me). Big gifts shop. Car park pricey but OK when you consider this covers all the entrance to the exhibited art works etc.

The sculpture park occupies the 500-acre parkland of Bretton Hall and straddles the border of West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

Great place but park in nearby Breton to save on the parking fees.

Great bacon & egg nap in almost empty restaurant as we were there just after 10.00. Ground are looking good, stood still in the trees listening to the acorns falling!
