Such a perfect place for long walks and beautiful scenery.
Such a perfect place for long walks and beautiful scenery.
A little sparse at the present usually much more to see.
Take some food and enjoy a day walking around the large grounds and lake looking for the many weird sculptures.
Excellent tree sculpture exhibition indoors and out. Lots to explore in lovely Yorkshire countryside. Cafe good. Parking expensive but contributes to upkeep of park (entrance is free).
Quite expensive parking and a real struggle to get a pram round the other side of the lake with no proper path but nice for kids
Great place, surprised by the high cost of parking. Restaurant very noisy and pricey. Picnic is the way forward.
Excellent will be going back to see the rest of it as you can't take it all in in one visit
It was a wonderful and also emotional visit due to the variety of sculpture experience.
Nice place for relax or outdoor activity, it's take half day for explore everything.
A unique and wonderful place. Whether you spend a few hours or a day, there is so much to see and the experience makes you look at everything around you so differently. The sculptures scattered throughout the landscape create such magical More
Fabulous day out, great sculptures, and beautiful countryside.
A lovely day out with the family. The art is spread along the walk which keeps it interesting the entire time around. Lots of different styles of art, a large cafe and shop area. The cafe seemed very unorganised which meant lots of customer's walking around not knowing where to go. But the food was nice and service was fast. Parking was expensive but if you stay the whole day makes it worth it. If your into art or want a day out with the family its definitely worth a day out.
Lovely place to have a picnic and let the children Run free to see all the beautiful sculptures and the Beautiful landscape would definitely go there again
A place where you can come many times and see different sculptures. Miles of park to explore.
Excellent outdoor and indoor experience for all the family. We go every week !
It a place e you must go and see if your in yorkshire
An awesome walk among hundreds of acres of park, and the sculptures are just breathtaking
Great exhibitions on. This is a wonderful way to introduce kids to art and sculptor. Also a great way to get them on a walk without them realising it if you have children who "dont like walking"
Great day the Yorkshire Sculpture Park today. Really enjoyed looking at Steelworks and Paradise. How a lovely lunch too. All round good day out
Great space for kids to run around. Access and facilities are excellent.
An absolute cultural gem of an experience. Easily accessed just off the M1 motorway and excellent value, in my opinion, as you only pay for car parking. Be sure to use the official car parks however, or else YSP will not financially benefit from your visit. Absolutely unmissable!
A beautiful place in a perfect setting. Always an excellsnt day out.
Just a great space, bigger than you think , massive art !
Cracking. Great source for photos, and I ve shamelessly slotted many sculptures into my urban/rural fantasy instagram and Facebook profiles. Perfect for a good day s walking.
I left the sculpture park a little underwhelmed. There are some fantastic installations, namely Chiharu Shiota's 'Beyond Time'. On the other hand, there's a lot of sculptures that don't impress, and sit scattered listlessly around a large field brimming with sheep poo... The info provided about these exhibitions is vague, and adds little to the sculptures themselves. Mixed bag, overall - but a fun day out. Parking is pricy, but entry is free so I have no issues with the cost of parking the car.
Quite good for making a walk slightly more interesting but not great if you're going just for the sculptures. Perhaps some of the nature oriented educational parts are suitable for children.
It was free, however parking was expensive, so we're the shops and coffee shops. Can't help being muddy. Recommended spare shoes for all and something to place shoes in for journey home. Vast area lovely walk plenty to see.
Clearly there's lots to see, there's plenty of walking and there are lots of dogs.
Regardless of the sculptures, the setting is beautiful.
If you have young children however, nothing really caters for them. 'No ball games' (there is an extensive list of things you can't bring, like frisbees, balls, skateboards, bikes and so on) is possibly the most common sign you'll see, after 'no climbing'. I understand that there may be some trees that specifically shouldn't be climbed, but every single one?
There isn't even a playground.
The food at the resto is good. And the coffee is ok, but expensive.
Great place to spend a sunny day. The Long Gallery is worth the walk.
Fantastic, scenic walks with sculptures to peruse en-route. Great afternoon outdoors.
A really good place to visit and free but you have too pay for car parking
Beautiful place, shame that the parking is so so expensive as the same as the cafeteria where the service is extremely slow
Great day out to walk through the park and visit the cafe, shops and exhibition. Free too other than parking and you can avoid this if you're able to park and walk a few streets away
Great experience - wonderful setting for the artworks. Very big site. Allow plenty of time.
Unique and fascinating place. Some areas are closed due to covid but there is still so much to see. Suitable for all ages, bring outdoor clothing/footwear. Takeaway sandwiches and coffee available.
Great day out if it's nice weather in Yorkshire. It's very big so you can expect to walk a lot. Take a picnic or grab lunch at the cafe there. There is a place for ice creams too and a large gift shop. Toilets and baby changing available but could do with another set of toilets near the bottom by the river. Take your camera.
Good day out. Worth taking a picnic if it's a sunny day, though the onsite sheep can get a bit curious. The exhibitions are always interesting and thought provoking. I do think parking is expensive though.
Parking is pricey, hence the star off. On the whole a grand day out for everyone. Beautiful scenery, thought provoking art and some buildings that are sympathetic to the picturesque nature of the area
Must be able to walk good distances as sculptures are spread wide apart and cover quite a lot of ground nice to look at and somtimes a bit hard underfoot but quite a good day out
Wonderful area but food and drink can be a bit pricey
Absolutely Amazing, the arts are beautiful within the galleries and in the park itself, the staff and the volunteers there are wonderful and friendly. I'm going to have to go again to see the sculptures that I didn't get too
Gorgeous + extensive park with plenty to see and to keep the kids entertained also. Impressive that the only payment is for parking.
A good day out, 3 hours later and we only covered a fraction of the place
Large open space for everyone, good for the kids to run about in. And some interesting art installations around the grounds.
A lovely place to visit with galleries and a cafe bar. There's so much to see, allow yourself plenty time to explore. The Chapel is a must with its mirrored floors and ceilings.
I love this place. There have been some stunning exhibitions; Andy Holdsworth and James Turrell spring immediately to mind, others too. Today a lot of the buildings/gallery spaces are closed due covid, although the main building is open. The grounds are quiet and the tracks very muddy, but the walk almost alone and the shop was what I needed. Always 5 stars for me.
A great big country park with Sculptures. A very nice walk round. Parking is a bit expensive.
The exhibition in the Chapel is one of the best pieces of artwork I have seen. Kids loved it. Favourite place to visit
A brilliant day out. Fantastic walks around the site made better with a picnic. Food is a little pricey but very tasty. Car parking is easy and the site has set up well post-Covid with all visitors feeling safe. Brilliant artwork with informative descriptions.
Always something to see while walking round this great park. How sculptures should be seen .. in the open. Fantastic
Beautiful place, great for lazy interesting Sunday walks.
Always a lovely challenging, exhilarating and beautiful adventurous walk.
Whatever the weather, the sculpture park is our getaway from all the noise, stress and worry. As a family of 5, 2 parents and 3 very young children the best thing we can advise other parents is, "when home gets boring or too loud or mundane. If you come to the Yorkshire sculpture park everyone will let go of their stresses and worries. Everyone will relax." We come here very often and we love it all the time.
A good walk spoilt by pretentious junk and sheep poo, no coherent layout or theme, great for pseuds.
Lovely walks, Gd: Sculptures. Wildlife. Nice for youngsters to explore, Restaurant very gd: Nice sitting on Verandah in aft: and see birds flying down, for crumbs. Nice day out, but car park a bit expensive if there for a few hours, which you need too go round, stop and view.
