This school may have great teachers but I dislike the whole setup the pickup drop off process for car riders is crazy only school I've seen like this ..all elementary, middle and highschool in 3 buildings, this is the smallest highschool building I've ever seen and even before covid you can't go and bring lunch to school and eat with your child in elementary, it doesn't have it's own cafeteria they use the gym to get their food to take back to class. Car riders in elementary building are in two lanes while leaving and one lane of it is forced to merge into the other one lane right in a curve which could cause a dangerous situation.

York Prep has failed my child!!! I thought the school has an anti-bullying policy. What a joke. My daughter was bullied by her classmates. My daughter also suffered a concussion while standing in line by two boys who were horse playing. As always the school brushed it off. My daughter suffered long term effects from both the concussion and the bullying. As a result, my wife and I decided to relocate to North Carolina to give her the support that she needs. My wife and I poured our hearts to a school who could care less. My daughter deserve so much better.

Love the teachers and staff, they really care for each child and work really well with parents concerning their child's learning. Every year my grandson and niece goes it just keeps getting better.

Wonderful school! Caring teachers, principals and guidance counselors. I have one YPA grad and one student, and the fact that teachers know students personally and care about their situation speaks volumes. The Marching Band program has climbed up the ranks in Upper State and State competition, and I'm convinced they will improve until they take both! Although it isn't easy, it's totally worth the almost one hour drive we make to school.

the only pros i cant think of is that if you go to this school, there is a decent anti-bullying standard because all of these children know each other and are decent to each other. i go to this school, in the middle school building and have gone here since k-5. the teachers are just a bunch of underpaid adults trying to get kids in the room, out the room. occasionally, you will find a teacher who actually wants to help you. that doesnt happen often though. i would say that the dress code is very reasonable. limited tank tops, no short-shorts, no mid-drifts, all reasonable. though this year, at the assembly discussing the rules with the current principle, they ONLY included dress code rules for the girls, no rules were given for the males. the curriculum is reasonable for what ive seen other schools doing, though they do not give you an option (if your child met gifted standards, and are qualified to be put in advanced classes) to NOT have your child in the harder classes. this school automatically puts children in harder classes, which might seem reasonable but i and many others have been put into gifted classes and would have done better in standard classes. advanced classes brush by topics, and do not explain them to the extent the regular classes get. lets change topics, and talk about the pick up lines and drop off lines. insane. the elementary lines can take 10-20 minutes to get through at times. in elementary, they have an amazing environment for the children, and they did a good job with that. in the middle school, they throw you into this environment with terrible overworked adults, with a terrible backed up counselor (WHICH IF YOU SHOW SIGNS, YOU CANNOT REFUSE THE COUNSLER) , and give the children insane amounts of assignments.. please, for your children, pick a different school. some students EXCELL here, some break. its so sugar coated, when thats not the case. it never was the case. short break time leave kids exhausted, and the teachers leave them with no confidence and a 7 page essay in the 5th grade. it gets worse as you go up and up the grades with stricter teachers, and no resources to get help

So much improvement needed. The teachers are amazing, most of the staff is awesome!!! They deserve a more organized environment. The favoritism needs to stop!! Rules should just apply no matter if you are faculty kid or not!! State traffic laws should apply regardless how long you've been a ypa parent. This use to be an amazing school!!

Wonderful School! Beautiful grounds and buildings; very clean and well kept. The staff, from teachers to principles and coaches, are all so helpful and communicative. They also offer many great options for academic assistance and success as well as opportunities for parents to participate and be a part of the school community.

Very easily a five star education facility. There is a combination of very overworked and very underpaid staff mixed with a toxic no communication kind of work environment here. It bathes the entire facility in a old world kind of odor instead of the fresh modern smell of academia.
We as a community deserve a more neutral and community driven school that cares how it got there.
