My family has been member of the YMCA for quite some time. My twin boys were taking swimming lessons back when Ms. Elisha was the Aquatics Director (now Branch Executive Director). Every spring and summer we enroll at the YMCA, the boys still enjoy it. They are almost 13 years old; and this summer we booked seven (7) weeks, in addition to being Wahoo Swim Team members.

Throughout the years, we have experienced YMCA Summer Staff Members that are great, medium and mediocre. We are OK with all that since we try to teach the boys how to deal with all kind of different situations and people. However, I think I should bring to your attention another kind of Staff Members: the exceptional kind. The ones that always go above and beyond their duties to provide assistance every single time. That is the case with Mr. David Daniels. We know him since his days working at the YMCA Sports World. I just wanted you to know that his professionalism doesn t go unnoticed. He is a great asset to the Y; always attentive, polite, friendly, and helpful . Another exceptionally good Staff Member is Ms. Rachael Hilkin. She is also amazing.

We just thought to let you know :-)

Sincerely,

The Van Agtmaal-Bonet Family

One of the most disgusting places I have ever set foot it. Do yourself a favor and go to a good, clean gym with trainers who have actual knowledge of fitness, exercise science, anatomy and nutrition. This place is a joke.

Continue to deactivate my account and charge a new $26 sign up fee, if not paid exactly on the first of the month. Lap pool is not cleaned, always has trash in it. Staff is either very friendly or cannot help with any request. Considering moving my membership to a private facility, this is not ideal for Adult memberships, even if you are a local resident, trying to help your community.

My brother went to ymca for fishing camp on the first week of summer. He was staying with my grandpa at the time cause he lives in stuart. In the manual it says to bring sunscreen so my brother did. On wendsday when we saw him his face was really red like no one had been puting sunscreen on him. But on Thursday my mom got a call from my grandpa saying that he had a really bad sunburn and so my mom got mad because my brother could get scin cancer so if u were thinking about bring your kids to ymca then dont.

This is an excellent place for kids and adults. I ve been coming for years and I have nothing but good feelings when I step in the building. It should be nominated for a prize . They are the best!! The staff are so friendly and kind. Rae at the front desk is a gem . Sweetest most kindest person you could meet. Brandy does such a great job getting my son into activities when he needs them and Bob runs the sports impeccably. They all are the best people ever!!!

My youngest is currently attending the summer camp program, and it's been terrific! The staff is friendly, and on the ball, and every day my daughter practically falls asleep on the way home from the days activities. She's usually quiet and kind of shy, but the YMCA is bringing her out of her shell in a great way. She is having a blast!
The childcare service director is awesome too, and does his best to be as accommodating as is possible and practical.
We will continue with the Y for many years to come!

If I could give negative stars I would!!! This is more for the childcare side. I had a horrible experience as a new mom with their infant room, the teacher Ms. Claria and the Director Robert. My daughter attended there from 4 months to about 9 months when we decided we were being targeted by one of the teachers and I removed her. I would get a phone call at least once a week telling me my child was sick and I needed to come get her. I worked full-time as well as my husband during the day so it as very inconvenient, plus she was never sick, I took her to the doctor never anything wrong. She never actually had a fever, this "teacher" made excuses every time to get my daughter out. Yes she was a crier and they have so many babies in that room because of state law it was legal but they would leave children screaming in swings saying "oh thats just what they do, they want to be held". It was always an excuse no personal attention to the children no one ever on the floor playing with the kids on the floor. This one teacher was the only teacher I had a problem with. The other teachers that served in that classroom were great. They never believed she was sick but feared retribution from the Director Robert, who in my opinion does a horrible job as a children's director. I had made the complaint about the teacher and he told me he didn't care and he would choose his teacher's word of any parent. He was unprofessional and rude. He told me I needed to remove my daughter since I did not trust the teacher. I can go on and on about this horrific experience which also scarred the baby because she had attachment problems in the beginning but finally got used to some of the teachers and then I had to rip her out of there and put her in another daycare. It's truly sad because all of the YMCA has lost my business and support for the actions of 2 people. I tried going up the chain and it stopped with the director of that facility basically doing nothing as well, she was nice but nothing was resolved except I lost money and had to find a new daycare. I was warned by SEVERAL people and other day care facilities about the "Teddy bear Academy" but I had to find out the hard way.

I'm a YMCA kid who came back to the Y as an adult. I recommend this place for all ages. Above all, this a place to make life long friends while staying fit and giving back to the community. If you're not a member yet, consider joining!

To start off, this is the biggest joke of a gym. They never clean the place. The ceilings are dripping rusty "goop" on to gym floor and actually on me occasionally. Also in the basketball court the ceilings are torn and moldy; also right where the air conditioning vents blow air into the gym. There is a ton of mold and dirt that is now being propelled into the air for you and the children that run around the jungle gym of a court it is. If you are a basketball player, dont come here. They will never clean the floor. you'll be slipping and sliding like you were in socks and a ice skating rink. as for the trainers, they are the biggest phonies of it all. They are mostly older people that have very little prior knowledge to exercise that ride on a stationary bike with fat people for there check. trust me on this pay the extra money and go to LA you wont doubt it
