The font desk staff & lifeguards are both so sweet & welcoming. I m only leaving 3 stars, though; I got my family s membership primarily for the pool & its always a stressful experience for me. I come here for my daughter (who is 5 & loves it) but I m a nervous & annoyed wreck every time we leave. There is always SO much splashing & rough housing amongst older kids. Even though I try to sit quietly & play with her near the steps, we re constantly getting pushed or water shoved in our faces. Older kids are nearly always jumping in the side of the pull, SPLASHING and shoving. The lifeguards seem like really kind, helpful folks. Still, it s unacceptable I've had to ask them make other swimmers follow the posted etiquette rules. Even then, the guard seemed too shy to command any attention; she did try though. Maybe I d feel differently if I didn t have a small child, but - alas - I do. It s a hot mess of rowdy kids here & I hate the stress.

Had to suspend my membership due to medical reasons and they lost my paperwork. I was told I could not be refunded for membership fees a few weeks later by the director and I had not used the membership over a month already. Had no sympathy was told just couldn't. I have no car to get to facility to cancel. Worst customer service ever.

Posted hours are wrong. It shows office hours as if that is what anyone is looking for. Call them for correct hours. The layout of the gym (locker rooms, group rooms, etc.) is confusing and the layout of gym weight room is confusing and very crowded and busy. However, the office staff is very friendly and helpful.
They should look at other gyms in area and quit making excuses for the chaos as it has been this way for at least a decade.
The Pooler YMCA layout is easy to understand and same nice staff.

Literally impossible to ever get a hold of anyone at the YMCA. Which is super annoying because their website gives pretty much no information. I think this level of customer service tells me everything I need to know to decide I am not interested in becoming a member after all.

My review is for their Martial Arts program, they have excellent masters, is extremely affordable. Call and sign your kids up!
The ladies at the front desk are great too. About summer camp, my daughter disliked it, she dreaded to go back every day, she says is dirty and that she stays in the hot sun too long, my son dislikes it too.

Put my son in their "speciality" summer camp for the first time this past week at the cost of $250.00 for only 4 days! Their so called "camp counselors" were unprofessional and looked like teenagers. They lost my son's lunchbox and contigo. On top of that I experienced how they YELL and say inappropriate things to the children. I withdrew my son immediately at the end of the 4th day! WAY overpriced and unprofessional for the camp services that they provide. Would NEVER recommend this place to any parent.

This is one summer camp my child will not attend ever again. She was hurt twice with no call or note. And upon pick up got in my car with a ice pack and n her face. And communication with them is useless. So unsatisfied with this place to provide nothing for the kids except a pool and a gym and cost 150$

If I could I would give this place a -5 star rating. Please do not waste your money on this place. If you want your kids to play sports either teach them yourself or let them play in the on post leagues. Basketball for example, you are better off taking your kids outside with basketball and showing them how to play football with it. Complete hot garbage. I would have gotten more use out of my 50 dollars if I used it as toilet paper.

The one in pooler is a completely waste of money and time. There is absolute NOTHING spectacular about it. The membership fees are too expensive and provides NOTHING in return. For the amount of money I WAS paying for membership fees, I expect for them to have more FREE classes but they don t. They offer 1 price for members and like a 5/10 diff for members. Which is NOT a discount considering the amount you are paying EVERY month. They even went up on camp fees, which is off b/c they do not provide lunch. However, the kids do have a good time over there and seem to enjoy themselves. (Which is why I gave them the first star)Most of the classes offered are during times when MOST ppl are at work...so money lost. The gym is very small and dated, money lost. NO state of the art equipment at all. If they do have something it s like 1 or 2 pieces IF THAT. With their membership you can ONLY have guest with you 3 times A YEAR.. like what a joke !! The staff is somewhat friendly, (which is why I gave them the 2nd star). Unfortunately that s not enough considering the money are paying. Yes... your membership is good at all the costal Ys. But if you re like me and have a gym at your complex or house or access at work. The Y membership just isn t worth it and a HUGE waste of money....

If you really want a gym experience that s worth your money, join a planet fitness..you get more bang for your buck and you can bring guest with you EVERY SINGLE VISIT FOR FREE.... join an establishment that appreciates you spending money w/ them and not one, where you re just contributing to someone s paycheck and nothing more...

As a gym this YMCA gets 3 stars. I can't judge it's children's programs because I don't have children. The gym itself is a maze. There are not many machines and they are pretty old. I visited at 10am and it was PACKED. It is nice that they offer so many different fitness classes.

Could not be more disappointed in the child care f...

Could not be more disappointed in the child care facility. The daycare director seems like she really cares. Constantly checking on the rooms and knows most (if not all) of the children by name. Unfortunately, there is only one of her and it seems that she is stretched much to thin. It is clear that the teachers that are actually hands-on with the kids do not have the same level of care.
This was my daughters first experience with daycare, and it was horrible. In the beginning, she was excited to go. But that quickly changed. I thought it was just the typical adjustment period and hoped it would change, but it only got worse. My outgoing and friendly two year old, started cleaning to me and saying "no no no" as we would walk down the hall.
I kew they were having problems when my child was supposed to be promoted to the next room in January, and it was not happening. I asked the director if there was a specific date that they were planing on. She got very quiet and whispered "well.. we have having some issues. Once I get these fires put out, then we will be moving the kids the the right rooms". I thought they may be having issues in the next room, and didn't want to move her until it was settled, which I appreciated. It wasn't until later that I realized they were having issues in her current room when the director asked me one morning "how comfortable are you, with her in this room...?" there was obvious concern in her tone. All that day at work, I was distracted and anxious about this encounter, wondering where it stemmed from and what was going on around my child.
Here are the main issues we had:
1. Early December, she started developing a rash on her hip under the diaper. It eventually got so large, swollen, and blistered that the Doctor said it was a rash to her diaper. This didn't make sense as she has been in the same brand her whole life. Well, I arrived at the YMCA to pick her up one afternoon and saw the diaper sticking out of her pants, and it was NOT the diapers I had been supplying. The daycare worker was clearly shaken to see me, and grabbed my child and insisted she change the diaper before we left.
2. Another day, as I was picking her up I saw teeth marks in her arm. No one mentioned it or gave me any sort of report. I still do not know what happened that day.
3. The last straw, was a day that I picked her up and found a bleeding rash coming out of her ear and onto her face. I turned to the teacher and asked "did anyone see this?" She said they did not see it and had no idea it was there... It was on her face. They MUST have been ignoring my child to not see it, OR she lied to my face. I rushed her to the Doctor and he said she had been attacked by sand gnats and was clearly sensitive to them. This can only mean that they are not spraying the playground, do not use bug spray on the children, and do not watch them when they are outside. If a child is getting swarmed by bugs, they will clearly react to it and be distressed. Yet no one removed her from the area, or made the decision to take the whole class back inside, if the entire play ground was engulfed in bugs.
4. Lastly, after I canceled both of our accounts (hers for the daycare, and mine for the gym) I have continued to get emails saying that I have a balance for weeks SINCE our cancelation. I have asked in person and over the phone for this to be resolved, and our information (Including credit cards on file!) to be deleted, and not only is it not happening, but my balance is continuing to go up!

Save yourself and your children heartache, headache, and frustration and choose a different gym and a different daycare. It isn't worth it.

This is my first experience with the Y's summer program.... This is only day two and I'm not impressed. For the cost p/week I don't think it's too much to expect my 5 year old's clothes to come back home with him. I gave 2 stars because he is enjoying himself, but there is much much room for improvement.

My kids go to summer camp here. My son (9) has described it as kids fight club, he helped break 2 fights between boys and other children had to tell the staff members what had happened b/c they didn't know. 1at day my son was hit in the head with a full Gatorade bottle by a bully in his group, staff members where unaware. My daughter (10) was subject to mass punishment b/c 4 girls in the group wouldn't listen (my daughter not included in this number). I talked to the director regarding the issue and she assured me it would be resolved, yet the bully is still there and still being a bully. The staff yells at the children like they are prisoners, yet there is zero security measures taken when it comes to picking up children, no id checks or forms, just a simple sign in and out roster. Again the staff did not pay attention to the parents or the children. I am moving my kids to the Fort Stewart summer camp, it's more expensive but worth paying for trained staff and security measures.

the ymca pryme tyme is a joke, they have uneducated people calling themselves teachers and most of them certainly DO NOT know how to take care of the kids. They yell a lot and do not listen to the children at all. I HATED this place and would NEVER take my child their again. And the director of the program is a complete self-centered don't care unrespected unprofessional uneducated thing but than again you get what you pay for.

This local gym is great! Facilities are constantly maintained and the hours are decent. But the real gem is the staff! Always eager to help and never stop encouraging! Not only do they provide a great gym and atmosphere, they constantly interact with the community. While partnering with Tapestry Church Savannah, they provide fall festivals, easter egg hunts, and christmas cheer to family's in need. Love this community staple.
