Known as a place where the locals dine, my cousin recommended this place as we vacationed throughout New England. We were very pleased with both the food and service. We got there early in time for the Early Bird Menu. I ordered the superb New England Scrod while my wife had the Pesto Shrimp both dishes served with long grain rice. We started off with their mouth watering Cranberry fritters served with Vermont Maple Butter, Caesar Salad and a Field Greens Salad. Later we both chose the Cranberry and Apple Crisp for desert and was not disappointed. Originally built in 1790 this most definitely a Manchester, Vermont landmark.
A couple October's ago we dined here again where I had the roasted Tom Turkey and Doris chose their wonderful Apple cranberry smoke roasted chicken. Great place. Great food. Can wait to return. Thanks owner, Michael!
This places oozes historic New England charm. Sit fireside and enjoy classic American dishes at appropriate prices. If you want "Vermont" ambiance to round out your ski weekend, this is the place you are looking for.
Love this gem in the heart of Manchester. The old time recipes are amazing and the blackberry duck flambe was to die for! Tom turkey was delightful and the cranberry fritters are my favorite!!!
This place has the best food!!
Everything we ordered was so delicious!
Love the warmth and coziness inside.
You will not be disappointed here!!
Great service, food and ambience. Early bird dining a good deal.
Really homie Revolutionary war ambiance with a sweet little history to the place. Food was quite good. However, I got two sips out of my old fashioned and it seemed other people s drink were tiny as well, for $12 mins you. Not the greatest value but overall good food. Definitely a go there once maybe twice kinda place if you like your money.
This is the type of restaurant that makes you feel at home with a great atmosphere that is calm and serene. The food was really good, everything with a touch of good cooking and certainly reminiscent of the old New England cuisine. We enjoyed it with the family. Great place for a romantic dinner or a family gathering.
We loved the ambiance, our lobster bisque and the corn fritters. However we found our entrees to be subpar, and the service was not very professional given the setting.
So cute inside. Staff really can't speak to the wine selection and you have to order by item number which was a bit odd but otherwise very nice. Beautiful building. The liver and onions were delicious.
