My family came in for wine tasting and a lady with brownish/reddish hair served us and she was very rude. She was rushing the tasting and was talking to other staff while serving us. We had come from Frankston and to be treated like this was just disgusting! The wines were great but the customer service was terrible.

Barossa & Light Cab Service, recommend Yalumba to both tourists and locals as a 5 star destination. The brand is historic to the Barossa area, being over 166 years of age. The Wine Room/ Tasting Room at Yalumba was once Yalumba's brandy bond store, and it captures the spirit of Yalumba during any tasting experience. Barossa & Light Cab Service often share our favourite Yalumba wine product with our customers, being the Viognier range which is nothing short of seductive and luscious. On your next visit to the Barossa, drop into Yalumba!

We had a great time visiting this winery. It is the oldest run family vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Anna in the tasting room is exceptional! She is very friendly and fun to chat with while she pours their great wines. She is very knowledgeable and is a great "Wine Room Ambassador"! The grounds are very spectacular to walk around and get pictures.

This place is beautiful. The grounds are incredible, the wine and cheese platter is delicious!

We went for a tasting and had Amanda looking after us. She was an absolutely delightful human! It was fairly busy but she didn't make us feel rushed at all. She gave us so much history and information on the wine, even helping us pronounce some of the names. She was friendly, professional and really made our whole experience.

The wine itself is delicious, we bought a number of bottles to take home as well as having a bottle there with a cheese platter.

Have a huge list of free tastings and also premium paid tastings as well. The estate is beautiful and lovely to sit back and relax with a bottle of wine. They also have a vegan share board that includes a almond cottage cheese.

Loved visiting this winery. The area is beautiful and the winery itself is interesting to have a look around. The wines were so good, we bought quite a few. There was no charge for tastings and staff were quite knowledgable and able to pick wines we might like based on our tastes. Had a lot of fun visiting here.

Immerse your senses in quality Wines abound by a deep history.
In spectacular surroundings Yalumba Winery deliveries a diverse range of Wines for your taste buds to discover.

I attended a private tour & tastings and was welcomed by Louisa with a passion, desire and commitment to share her knowledge.

The history of Yalumba dates back to the mid 1800's and has been well preserved.

Their future is well protected. Louisa spoke of the diversity in the vineyards. With every hectare of vines there is a hectare of native bushland. They encourage the local wildlife to protect the grapes. This limits the need for chemical use.

I loved the 'Block 44 Riesling', available only at the Cellar Door. Unlike any Riesling I have ever tried, it was gentle yet flavoursome and certainly not dry.

Yalumba make their own wine barrels (cooperage) , I believe the only winery in the southern hemisphere to do this. Certainly a commitment and testament of the way Wine is nurtured at Yalumba.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Museum with wines purchased from all over the World and kept alongside the vintages from Yalumba. The oldest bottle dated 1830!

I highly recommend on your visit to Angaston you include this lovely Winery. You will absolutely love it!

This places makes you appreciate how big a gift to the world wine is.
Brilliant scenery to stroll through, cellar door staff that are friendly and welcoming which is great to see, and the wines....Jesus Christ, the wines. They honestly have to be some of best I've tasted in the region.
Really glad I game here.

We visited yesterday and paid $13 for a glass of red wine that was not good, in fact I think it was off.
I returned it and was given a glass of wine which was suggested by the staff member
Beautiful grounds but disappointing experience

Went here specially as I had found a Yalumba on a flight which I was craving to buy. Overall staff treatment and reception to our group was very lukewarm compared to other barossa cellars that we visited. Their interest in serving us hit rock bottom when I chose to buy the specific bottle that I was looking for instead of their expensive ones in the tasting (inspite of buying 8 total different bottles within our group)

Property is nice, but Murray Street or others are nicer. I would give this one a miss just because of the way the staff behaved.

Went for a tasting today and it was a great experience. There is a nice variety of tasting options and you can put the price of the tasting towards wine purchase if it's in the same category as the tasting.

The grounds are nice and the staff are extremely friendly, polite, and helpful! We had the cheese board which was reasonably priced and full of tasty local ingredients.

The business was clean and everything was wiped down regularly.

About Yalumba Wine Company

Yalumba Wine Company: A Legacy of Excellence in Winemaking

Yalumba Wine Company is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Australia. Established in 1849, it is one of the oldest and most respected wineries in Australia. Yalumba has a rich history and legacy that spans over 170 years, making it an iconic brand not only in Australia but also around the world.

The company's founder, Samuel Smith, arrived in South Australia from England with his family and settled on a piece of land near Angaston. He planted his first vineyard there and started producing wine under the name "Smith's". In 1852, he changed the name to "Yalumba", which means "all the land around" in Aboriginal language.

Since then, Yalumba has been passed down through five generations of Smiths who have continued to produce high-quality wines using traditional methods combined with modern techniques. Today, Robert Hill-Smith is at the helm as Chairman of Yalumba Wine Company.

The company owns more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards across South Australia's premium wine regions including Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and Coonawarra. The diversity of these regions allows Yalumba to produce a wide range of wines that showcase their unique terroir.

One thing that sets Yalumba apart from other wineries is their commitment to sustainability. They were one of the first wineries to be certified as sustainable by Entwine Australia - an industry-led program that promotes environmentally friendly practices within Australian vineyards and wineries.

In addition to producing award-winning wines year after year, Yalumba also offers tastings at their cellar door where visitors can sample some of their finest wines while taking in stunning views over Barossa Valley. They also offer tours where visitors can learn about their history and winemaking process firsthand.

Yalumba hosts several events throughout the year including concerts featuring local musicians as well as food and wine festivals such as Vintage Festival held every two years celebrating all things grape-related!

Their flagship wine range includes The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz blend which has been produced since 1962; The Octavius Shiraz which was first released back in 1993; The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon named after Sir Robert Menzies who was Prime Minister during World War II; The Virgilius Viognier named after Virgil who wrote about Bacchus (the Roman God Of Wine) amongst other things!

In conclusion,Yaluma Wine Company is an iconic Australian brand known for its rich history spanning over 170 years combined with its commitment towards sustainability practices within Australian vineyards &wineries.Their diverse rangeof award-winningwines are produced using traditional methods combined with modern techniques. They offer tastings, tours&events throughoutthe year making thema must-visit destination for any wine lover!
