This is a hidden gem so close to Flagstaff! The $1 guide book at the reception is strongly suggested to navigate this beauty as there is no guide or information panels. There are several Pueblos nearby and they give a certain feel of peace, calm and awe when you walk up to these monuments hearing just the sound of wind and view as far as your eyes can see!!

Amazing place to visit while near Flag! The ability to walk onto some of the villages as you enter the park is amazing. To imagine yourself there and then the reach Wupatki is incredible. The history and imagination run free! The blow hole baffles my mind and was by far my favorite part of it all! Make sure to come back at night as the park is a dark area and perfect to see the stars Talk about the pitch black of night.

Great! I was super impressed by the Rangers who were omnipresent and who seemed knowledgeable of the area. Really enjoyed walking through the area and it really makes you feel small knowing that men and women lived in the area as the ground erupted with fire from the local volcano. Just incredible. What a great piece of history!

Amazing!! It's beyond incredible to see so much history. If you're not interested in American history or historical Native American dwellings, you may be bored. However, if archeology and anthropology are your thing, you'll LOVE it here!

Visited the area back in March 2019. And let me say it was a wonderful experience. Not only historically it was fascinating but also the landscape was unbelievably beautiful. I'm not guilty, to say that I had a wonderful time. This area is within the boundaries of Sunset Crater Park. It's about 15 miles drive from the entrance. It is very Scenic and very very calm and quiet. Perfect place for meditation perfect place for quietness. Definitely recommend a book for those who like to learn new things and for historical value. Plus, the Visitor Center what's also a pleasant experience. The people there are very nice and very helpful. Also, the people there know the history of the place and can explain to you the reason for existence of the place.

Never heard of these National Monuments until I was searching for things to do near Flagstaff and I'm super glad I did! The gift store is a little small. If you want to read about the ruins along the trail you'll need the trail guide which is only $1. There are a few stops that I highly recommend that's between 89 and the gift shop. They're mostly easy trails that don't take too much time to walk through.
