I 've a reservation at the lodge, but have not visited yet.
By reviewing the reviews, recent reviews (within 3-weeks) show bad experiences, and also there are no owner responses, or apology for reviews with bad experiences.
Should I be afraid of what's coming?

I'm writing this review only on the restaurant, at which my wife and I ate twice during our vacation in Sequoia National Park.

The food was pricey, as I would expect from any restaurant in such a unique location, but I didn't feel it was bad quality. My wife and I both enjoyed what we ordered. I ordered the turkey burger both days, and my wife ordered the prime rib sandwich. I will say that it wasn't any more expensive than the Grant's Grove restaurant, however. If you want to eat "real" food (by that I mean, not junk food) in the Sequoia park, these are your only two options.

I can corroborate a previous statement that we were told dinners were by reservation only; however, we went back to the lodge later to use the facilities, and I asked if they had any dinner openings, and I was told enthusiastically that they did, and from what I could tell, the dinning room was veritably empty.

Great place to stay! Nice clean rooms. Nothing fancy. Don't expect to have cell reception and the wifi is pretty darn slow but free and serviceable. The lodge is very close to some of the Park's best offerings! You'll find General Sherman, The Giant Tree Museum, and many hiking trails very close by.

Out deep in the woods clean rooms, lots of hiking trails starting right from the hotel . Only complaints would be it's a hike from the parking lot to the rooms and very dark. But they probably aren't allowed a lot of lights to disturb the wildlife, as it is on a federal park. also Pepsi vending machine was either totally empty or broke. But I would stay again

We have been to Sequoia 3 times and have always stayed at the Wuksachi lodge. We love this place. Good service and decent amenities.

Went here for lunch while visiting sequoia national forest. Had a very good and reasonably priced lunch and our server Austin was extremely nice and helpful in planning the rest of our day! Great experience, definitely recommend!

We stopped in to view the gift shop, grab a drink and use the WiFi to check the weather. The lodge was warm and the staff was friendly. We didn't get a chance to stay, as they had no availability, but the fireplace was nice to warm ourselves by.

Beautiful place to stay and make several walks in the park influencing Moro Rock, Sunset Rock, Topokah Valley and of course visit the bulkier sequoia called General Sherman. The room I was in had two queen beds very comfortable. The hot bath water was very good and in addition the room service was excellent. I should mention that when you stay in Wuksachi you only have the option of having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant of the place. It is a little expensive, but waiting to get good food in such a repoto place. The dining options specifically were very good. Breakfast not so good. And lunch I can not comment since I did not treat it. Finally it is important to remember chains for the tires of the car during the winter since the snowfalls are common during the cold season.

Not friendly for food allergies.
Very busy .. hard to find a person to talk to.

Ordered food with modifications due to food allergies and we specifically asked to speak to chef due to cross contamination issues. Server had no idea about food allergies. After half an hour of wait ,they came and said chef is very busy , he cant come.

I am.ok if restaurants tell that they can't accommodate. But like this after my kid was prepared that he is eating here along with everyone and waited half an hour and then couldn't get any food .

A haven of peace in the heart of nature. We did not meet any bears in this season, but a doe and her little ones scampered at the feet of our room.
The room and the bed are very big and comfortable. The restaurant is good. Helpful staff. No effective internet connection, but it pauses during the holidays.
At this price, the bathroom could be more modern, it feels like a basic motel.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequate but thats all. The beds are hard. The door would not lock from the outside. The restaurant was very disappointing. I have been there in previous years and the food has been good, but this time, November 2015, I have to say that the food was very poor indeed. They kept running out of items, including milk during breakfast time. I had two breakfasts, one lunch, and two dinners while there and not one meal was good and it was very pricey. The lunch sandwich was burnt to a crisp and even the manager agreed it was inedible. i complained and they took the price off my bill. This is such a shame as it used to be wonderful. I don't think my husband and myself will be returning.

This lodge is a perfect place to spend a couple nights up in the mountains. My wife and I booked a two night stay at the lodge following our wedding in Vegas and could not have been more pleased. The food was amazing and the restaurant provided boxed lunches for traveling around sequoia the next day. Our waiter Matt, was very helpful in mapping out places to visit around the park and helped make our little honeymoon a very romantic and memorable one. Our room was extremely nice, clean, and cozy. I really have nothing but praises for this lodge!

Beware - the rooms are not all air conditioned - you have to pay for the superior room to get AC - which we would have done if we had known.

Otherwise mostly a nice stay - the low score is due to a very rude server at dinner on Thursday evening - his behavior was unforgivable so I did not go back to eat there the second night of our stay. I would likely find another place to stay in the future.

This is a great lodge that will give you the feeling you want out of a Woodsy California Adventure. We recently went to North Tahoe looking for this type of experience and were greatly disappointed. But, coming here, having the constellation night time thing, easy access to everything around here and the good restaurant located inside the lodge, it's everything you could ask for. Great experience.

Amazing location. Great service, especially from the guy at reception, knows his stuff about the park. if you want any tips just ask him. Clean room and good size. We where there at the beginning of March still deep in snow. Made even more picturesque.

The pizza was good, however, once we had ordered the pizza, we were told to take it back to our room, at the time there was a couple eating pizza right where we wanted to eat it and the previous night, there were 5+ people eating pizza and other meals there. We asked why they were allowed and we were not and they simply said "they were misinformed". After a fair bit of reasoning, they let us stay and eat it there. There is nothing at the bar where the pizza is ordered telling you you must take it back to your room implying you could eat it there so something as simple as a sign saying "all food must be consumed elsewhere" or something along those lines would let people with the intentions of eating there let them know they can't.

The previous night, we went into the restaurant which seemed nice but, they had a very small menu. We ordered the food and it didn't come out quite right, 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered tasted both stale and burnt unfortunately.

Besides the fact that the room's furniture was dated and the linens had hair on them (white sheets and bedding would be a nice change and would improve the room), the staff were friendly and they would do what they could to help, especially the people at the reception desk

Was this at one time, Stoney Creek? I worked there in Sept. of 74, and main Lodge winter of 75. If this was Stoney, it has improved so much!!!!! If you had a bad experience, please try again. And please, if you have any trouble, talk to the manager at that time, they will be glad to work with you.

Large clean rooms near the lodge. WIFI and TV reception was poor, but we were not here for that. Hot breakfast is served for $14.00 at the lodge. The location is about in the middle of Sequoia National Park which makes it convenient to the sites.

The internet here is very bad. It can be said that they have no network. The hotel's system has major problems. We booked the hotel online. When we got there. The front desk told me that they had not received the booking. Let me pay to stay. They only have my name. Actually they received the money. We arrived very late. They were just taken for 2-3 hours. Anxious waiting. They did not try to contact the company. It just means that they did not receive the money. Breakfast was terrible and not cheap. Just good location.

Up there on the mountain the air is really thin. So the people working there are a little spacey. When we arrived the room we reserved was not cleaned. It was a little disturbing after lugging the luggage up the steps. We were assigned a different room. It's pretty basic in the rooms, a step up from camping or renting a cabin. The WiFi only worked half the time and when it did it was very slow. The best part about the place is its food. The breakfast and the dinner were top notch and didn't disappoint. Trails immediately around the lodge aren't the best in the forest. Drive a bit south to get low enough where the Sequoia grow giant.

Disappointed: dirty spider webs that date. So dirty windows that we see more through. Dirty shower curtain. Hallway floors serving dirty rooms is shameful. Save on trash bags: emptied but not changed
